Telangana Minister Vivek Venkataswamy highlights welfare initiatives by govt for the Poor
Minister Vivek Venkataswamy has reiterated the Congress government's commitment to the welfare of the underprivileged during a recent event in Siddipet. Speaking at Konda Bhudevi Garden, he announced the provision of Rs. 5 lakhs for every Indiramma house, with 12,000 houses sanctioned for Siddipet district alone. He emphasised the aim to ensure that every village benefits from the Indiramma housing scheme, initially launched by Indira Gandhi to combat poverty.
The Minister noted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi have enacted policies to provide 200 units of free electricity, further aiding the lower-income population.
In a drive to uplift the poor, Minister Venkataswamy distributed sanction documents for Indiramma houses and confirmed plans for skill development programmes employing advanced technology in Siddipet. He acknowledged public scepticism regarding the Congress government's ability to fulfil its promises but pledged that the government would uphold its commitments.
Highlighting other welfare initiatives, he detailed the assistance for women, including gas cylinders for Rs. 500 and free bus services. He mentioned the comprehensive loan waiver of Rs. 23,000 crores for farmers, a record in India, as well as the release of Rs. 10,000 crores for farmer insurance by CM Revanth Reddy. Furthermore, the Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme now offers up to Rs. 10 lakhs in health coverage, and farmers growing sorghum are receiving a bonus of Rs. 500.
Additionally, Venkataswamy revealed that sorghum is being distributed to the needy through ration cards. The government is dedicated to constructing homes for every poor individual on plots of 600 yards. He stressed the importance of beneficiary participation in ensuring adequate construction of the houses, reiterating the strict implementation of the Indiramma scheme.
Earlier, he had also distributed sanction documents to beneficiaries of Indiramma Indla in Gajwel, where a budget has been allocated for 3,000 double-bedroom houses. In his address, he reiterated the government's commitment to education, healthcare, housing, and farmer welfare.

Prof. Kodandaram of TJS urges Centre to stop Polavaram-Banakacherla link
HYDERABAD Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president and MLC Prof. M. Kodandaram has demanded that the Centre stop the Polavaram-Banakacherla Link Canal project taken up by Andhra Pradesh in violation of the AP Reorganisation Act and without the appraisal and approval of the river boards, Apex Council and other statutory agencies. Speaking to newspersons here on Friday, he suggested that the Centre could go ahead with processing the appraisal of the Polavaram-Banakacherla project only after making allocation of water to the ongoing and contemplated projects of Telangana including the future needs in the Godavari Basin or else it would amount to violation of the riparian rights of Telangana. Prof. Kodandaram said neither Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao nor his party leaders had any moral right to speak on the Polavaram-Banakacherla project. He also wondered by the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders from the State were keeping silent on the project that was bound to harm the interests of Telangana permanently. Against the allocation of 518 tmcft water to it, AP was already utilising over 630 tmcft, while Telangana was not utilising even half of the 968 tmcft allocated to it in the Godavari Basin. With the Polavaram-Banakacherla project, AP was conspiring to take away over 300 tmcft of water more to the non-basin areas at the cost of basin areas in Telangana. Meanwhile, BRS senior leader T. Harish Rao has criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his comments on the Polavaram-Banakacherla project in Delhi on Friday. He accused the Chief Minister of coming to a tacit understanding with his AP's counterpart and political guru N. Chandrababu Naidu to allow AP to have its way in illegally diverting the Krishna and Godavari waters to the non-basin areas. He pointed out that KCR had been demanding at least 1,950 tmcft water share in the Godavari surplus waters of over 3,000 tmcft in addition to the 968 tmcft of assured water allocated to Telangana by the Godavari Water Disputes Tribunal. Against the BRS demand of 2,918 tmcft, Mr. Revanth Reddy was conspiring to limit Telangana's share to just about 1,000 tmc ft, he alleged. Similarly, Mr. Revanth Reddy was talking about only 500 tmcft share in Krishna waters against 763 tmcft being demanded by KCR all along. Mr. Harish Rao sought to know the rationale behind Mr. Reddy's silence on not demanding the Apex Council meeting on the Polavaram-Banakacherla issue.

Tesla's first batch of vehicles, comprising five Model Y rear-wheel drive SUVs, has already arrived in India. These vehicles were shipped from Tesla's Shanghai factory. According to Bloomberg News, based on official documents, the Model Y is currently the world's best-selling electric vehicle. Tesla's first showroom will open in Mumbai, likely by mid-July after which another in New Delhi. The company has also imported parts for superchargers, car accessories, and other equipment from the U.S., China, and the Netherlands to support its operations. Tesla Car Pricing The five Model Y SUVs that arrived in Mumbai are priced at Rs 27.7 lakh each. However, due to India's high import duties, over Rs 21 lakh in tariffs have been added to the cost. Starlink In India Starlink is a satellite internet service developed by SpaceX the American aerospace manufacturer and space transportation company founded in 2002 by the world's richest man Musk. It provides high-speed, low-latency broadband internet worldwide using satellite technology and is aptly described by some as broadband beamed from the skies. Unlike conventional satellite services that rely on distant geostationary satellites, Starlink utilises the world's largest low Earth orbit or LEO constellation (550 km above Earth). This constellation of LEO satellites (7,000 now but eventually set to grow to over 40,000) and its mesh delivers broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, and video calls. Starlink, which had been vying for an India licence for some time now, recently signed pacts with Ambani's Reliance Jio and Mittal's Bharti Airtel, which together control more than 70 per cent of the country's telecom market, to bring the US satellite internet giant's services to India. Row erupts after J&K CM Abdullah opposes flow of Indus water to Punjab; AAP, Congress, Akali Dal hit back
CHANDIGARH: A row has erupted after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah opposed the flow of water from the three rivers of the Indus system in Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab, reminding the neighboring state of how it had 'maltreated' J&K for years. Political parties in Punjab including the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal have hit back, saying it's the responsibility of the Centre, which had put the Indus treaty in abeyance, to appropriately distribute the water and give Punjab its rightful share. Reacting to Omar Abdullah's statement that J&K will not give water from the Indus river to Punjab, AAP Punjab spokesperson Neel Garg accused him of deliberately politicizing the issue. Garg said the authority to decide on river waters lies with the Centre and Omar Abdullah cannot take a unilateral decision on the matter. He emphasized that Punjab should also get a share of the Indus water. Garg pointed out that, like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab is also a border state. Whenever war occurs, Punjab becomes the battleground, and when the country needs food grains, it becomes the granary of the nation. Now that there is water available, Punjab has a legitimate claim over it. "In the process of filling the nation's granaries, we have been deprived of our own water. Now that the Indus Water Treaty has been annulled, Punjab has the primary right over this water because it will not only bring relief to our barren lands but also boost our agriculture. When farmers prosper, the nation prospers," he said. Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring also criticized Omar, saying it was unbecoming of the JK CM to make such remarks. He regretted that Omar was now trying to politicize the issue and score some brownie points. 'Where will you send the water and where will you divert the canals?' he asked, pointing out that Punjab would be the natural course of flow for the canals. He noted that the statement smacks of partisan political rhetoric.
