Gretchen Wilson reveals she was in a wheelchair for 6 MONTHS after horrific injury at her wedding
Gretchen Wilson revealed she had an accident at a wedding that left her leg 'shattered.'
The Redneck Woman singer, 51, recently opened up about her leg injury left her wheelchair-bound for many months.
She said the 'setback' happened while circle dancing with a six-year-old boy to Ring Around the Rosie when she lost her footing.
During an appearance on Taste of Country Nights with Evan Paul this week, she recalled: 'We were at a wedding reception and it was on the beach, so they had thrown one of those Astroturf carpeting things over the sand.'
The country music star, who was the latest winner of The Masked Singer, said she was 'doing the spin at 100 mph' when her ankle twisted in one of the holes from the Astroturf.

'It was ugly,' she admitted. 'You seen those videos online with the foot hanging the wrong way? It was one of those. Once I went down, I did not get back up.'
She told the outlet that in the moment, she thought that she wouldn't be able to perform again.
Wilson also recalled how it took nine months before she could even put any pressure on that foot following her injury.
She said that after months of recovery, she received the offer to join The Masked Singer — which would require her to not only sing but also dance again.
She admitted that she previously rejected that call in the past but wanted to get back on stage again and welcomed the opportunity.
'All the choreography, it was stressful, but it was good for me,' she said.
'It was hard work. It was really good for me and I proved a lot to myself,' she said while reflecting on her time on the singing competition series.
Wilson appeared on the 13th season of Fox's reality show and won as the character Pearl.

Earlier this month, the country singer, who had been caught up in scandal and arrests in prior years, said she 'felt bad' that she won the Golden Mask trophy over Boogie Woogie, who was revealed as singer Andy Grammer.
'I was absolutely positive that Boogie won. I thought he was just the most amazing singer,' Wilson, whose last album was her 2017 release Ready To Get Rowdy, told People.
'In my head, he had won it weeks before,' she confessed.
'I was so stunned because I had myself ready to hear that I was second place. I was so ready for it, I had already decided that that's what it should be in my head.'
After she was announced as the winner, she admitted: 'But being a mom, I felt bad. It was like, "No, no, no, no, no, no, I'm happy with second! He won!
'I think that's probably how he would've felt too. He's just such an incredibly, incredibly likable person. I wished I could have shared it with him.'
After being unmasked she said that she felt her win was the 'career comeback' she was waiting for.
Wilson first rose to fame with her first single Redneck Woman in 2004 as her debut album became certified 5x platinum.
'I've had a rough couple of years. I was injured. I was in a wheelchair,' she said.
'And there was a moment where I didn't think I'd ever get back to this place,' Wilson admitted.
'And I worked really hard, I prayed really hard, and I got so far. But this opportunity has really proven to me that there's nothing I can't do.'

Why are activists protesting against Jeff Bezos's Venice wedding?
Billionaire Jeff Bezos is marrying Lauren Sanchez, a former TV journalist, in a glitzy multi-day event in Venice. While city officials haven't confirmed the wedding details, Italian media have reported it will be a three-day affair between Tuesday and Thursday. They also say it will take over the whole island of San Giorgio opposite St Mark's Square - but that the location of the ceremony itself remains private. Oprah Winfrey, Mick Jagger and Ivanka Trump are expected to attend, as is pop star Katy Perry, who joined Ms Sanchez in the all-female celebrity crew that travelled to space in April. They and other celebrity guests - rumoured to include Leonardo Dicaprio and Eva Longoria - are expected to be joining the couple for parties on Amazon owner Bezos's super yacht, worth about $500m (£371m), which will dock in the port of Venice for the wedding, Sky News Italy reports. But not everyone in the iconic city is excited. Members of the group No Space for Bezos are planning to disrupt celebrations and have already made clear that, to them, the billionaire is not welcome in the city. They unfurled a massive banner on 12 June from the bell tower of the San Giorgio Maggiore basilica with Bezos's name crossed out. They are planning another demonstration on 28 June where they will block guests from arriving at a party by blocking the canals with boats and their bodies. They say the protest will be peaceful. "We want to take back our city that we are seeing constantly being privatised and taken away from us," Federica Toninelli, an activist associated with No Space for Bezos, told Sky News. Why are there protests? Protesters do not have an issue with the marriage itself but with what they say is the "privatisation" and "exploitation" of the city. "He is basically going to treat the whole city as a private ballroom, as a private event area, as if the citizens are not there," said Alice Bazzoli, also an activist with No Space for Bezos. Both told Sky News that the event will close parts of the city and make it difficult for locals to get around, as well as posing environmental concerns with the use of yachts in the canals. "This is not what Venice needs. This is not what a city that is already suffering from overtourism needs," said Ms Toninelli. The city has long struggled with high tourism numbers. Millions come to see a World Heritage Site famous around the world for its medieval architecture, crammed into a picturesque canal network. But this pushes up the cost of living for locals and tends to create only low-paid temporary employment. "It's going to bring money, yes, but we are not going to see any money," said Ms Toninelli. The protests are also linked to wider issues around affordable housing and a dwindling local population in Venice's historic centre. "Do we want our city even more invaded by tourists, by oligarchs, and people who buy and privatise the city, or do we want services, jobs, health services, schools, universities? Do we want to live in the city like normal people, or sell it to the best offer?" said Ms Bazzoli. What has the response been to the protests? The Mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, says he is "honoured" that the city is hosting the event. "Once again Venice proves to be a world stage," he said. "Those 20 people who are putting up posters are clearly capitalising on [Jeff Bezos's] image." The city of Venice has previously denied that the event would disrupt locals, saying water taxi services would run normally and that only 200 guests had been invited. "Venice is used to being the stage for events and shows every week, without significant impacts," the city said, citing G20 and G7 summits, the Architecture and Cinema Biennales, as well as private events. They say the city has previous experience of hosting big events successfully. Is this the first celebrity Venice wedding? No, George and Amal Clooney famously got married there in 2014. The actor arrived at his ceremony at the Aman Grande Canal Hotel on a boat, alongside guests including Matt Damon and model Cindy Crawford. The city also hosted world leaders for the 2021 G20 summit, as well as the annual Venice Film Festival. Is tourism a problem in Venice? Venice has been struggling with the impacts of overtourism - when the number of visitors to an area worsens the experience of being there for locals or other tourists. There were around 50,000 people living in the historic city centre in 2023 when there were around 4.9 million tourist arrivals, according to the data gathering website Statista. In 2024, it became the first city in the world to introduce a payment system for tourists, with officials carrying out random checks to make sure people beyond entry points have a QR code. As it stands, those visiting between April and July for a day trip pay a standard fee of €5 - unless they have booked less than four days before their visit, in which case they must pay double. The city has also put in place a size limit of 25 people for tourist groups to reduce crowds. Where else have there been tourist protests? Venice isn't the only European city where locals are frustrated with tourist numbers. Protesters in Barcelona sprayed tourists with water guns as part of demonstrations over the number of visitors.

Kate Upton and MLB star husband Justin Verlander receive life-changing family news
MLB star Justin Verlander has welcomed his second baby with his wife, actress Kate Upton, according to a report. Upton, 33, gave birth to their son, Bellamy Brooks Verlander, on June 19, a representative for the supermodel told TMZ. Just one day later, Verlander, 42, was placed on paternity leave by the San Francisco Giants Friday to spend quality time with his wife and their new bundle of joy. The two-time World Series winner and Upton welcomed their first child - a daughter named Genevieve 'Vivi' Upton Verlander - in November 2018. The pitcher has been married to the glamorous Vogue cover model since 2017. The happy couple first crossed paths when working on the same commercial set for a Major League Baseball 2k12 video game in 2012. Verlander got down on one knee four years later and they tied the knot in a stunning Tuscan ceremony just a few days after the right-hander led the Astros to a World Series victory - his first with the franchise. The Other Woman star announced that she was expecting her first child less than a year after the couple tied the knot. Three days after celebrating their first wedding anniversary in November 2018, the couple welcomed Vivi to their family. Verlander will miss San Francisco's home series against the Boston Red Sox, which begins Friday night, after being put on paternity leave by the team. The earliest the pitcher could return is Tuesday, when the Giants host the Miami Marlins at Oracle Park. The MLB's paternity leave policy allows players to step away for up to three games, barring any issues requiring a longer leave. If a player requires a longer absence, the team can apply to have him join the restricted list or go on family medical leave. The Giants currently sit second in the National League West at 42-33 behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. Upton has been a regularly fixture at her husband's games, supporting him at ballparks across the country - including at Yankee Stadium when the Astros swept New York in the 2022 American League Championship Series. However, she has previously revealed that she wasn't aware how grueling the MLB's schedule was before realise chaotic her WAG lifestyle would be. 'Being a baseball wife is absolutely insane, like this schedule is wild, it's so long. I didn't know,' the 32-year-old said on the Chicks in the Office podcast in July 2024. 'I accidentally fell in love. I had no idea that there were this many games,' she went on.
