Florida Amber Alert issued for Ryan Figueroa. His mother abducted him, police say
A parental abduction on Thursday night triggered an Amber Alert after a mother kidnapped her 6-year-old son in Little Havana, police say.
Ryan Figueroa, 6, was last seen in the 1300 block of Southwest First Street, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.
Officials note he is with his mother, 34-year-old Ismari Figueroa Leon, in a 2012 black Chevy Equinox with license plate number RUZG29.
He was wearing a white polo shirt and black joggers, while Ismari was wearing a black jumper.
Ryan is 3 feet 5 inches tall, about 70 to 80 pounds and has brown hair and eyes. Ismari is 5 feet 8 inches and has multiple tattoos.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Miami Police Department at 305-579-6111.

Missing Sask. woman, 1-year-old daughter may be in southwestern Manitoba: RCMP
A 27-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter are missing after they were last seen walking along Highway 1 near Indian Head, Sask., on Friday, and police in Manitoba and Saskatchewan are now asking for help to find them. Angela Kennedy and her daughter, Ivey Anhalt, were seen walking east on the highway just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, a Saturday news release from Saskatchewan RCMP said. RCMP believe the two may have been heading to either Brandon, Man., or Moosomin, Sask., both near the provincial border — two places they are known to travel to, RCMP said. Kennedy is described as five feet eight inches tall and 200 pounds, with blue eyes and blond hair. She has a full-sleeve tattoo on her right arm and a tattoo with a rose and teacups on her left. She was least seen wearing a blue dress. Police said Ivey has complex medical needs and officials are concerned for her well-being. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call Indian Head RCMP at 306-310-7267 (RCMP). Amber Alert issued in Denver metro area after toddler was "taken with force by noncustodial parents"
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert out of the Denver metro area after a toddler was "taken with force by noncustodial parents" early Saturday morning. It happened at 1 a.m. in Centennial on the 5160 block of South Quintero Street. The child's name is Ardin Reid and she is 1. She's White with brown hair and brown eyes, and weighs 20 pounds. She's 2-foot-5. There was no photo of her included in the Amber Alert. The Amber Alert states the noncustodial parents are a White man and an Asian woman. They are Jared Reid, 42, and Rose Kim, 41. Police said they believe Reid is dangerous and has a weapon. The vehicle the pair was driving is a 2001 Toyota 4-Runner with the Colorado license plate 765-LUH and it is silver. CBI At 1:45 a.m. the vehicle was seen in Thornton in the area of 120th and Irma. Anyone who sees the vehicle or the man and woman is asked to call 911 or the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office at 303-795-4711.

Florida AG Announces 44 Arrests in Retail Crime Blitz
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced late last week that officials throughout the state arrested 44 people on retail crime charges and recovered $207,000 worth of merchandise. The state participated in a nationwide blitz on retail crime, the attorney general said. Police said those arrested stole 'a range of merchandise, including personal grooming products, clothing, sporting goods and home repair tools.' 'Due to great coordination among our state law enforcement and Florida Organized Retail Crime Exchange, 44 criminals were arrested as part of a nationwide organized retail theft blitz,' Uthmeier said in a statement. 'The rule of law means something in Florida; this is another example of our state working with law enforcement to stop criminals.' FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass said the blitz further evidences Florida's status as 'a law-and-order state,' a reputation the Sunshine State has taken measures to uphold relative to retail crime. Last year, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law tightening the penalties for retail crime in the state, after criticizing blue states like California and New York for leniency on theft. According to Capital One Shopping data, Florida retailers lost more than $5.4 billion in revenue to theft in 2022, and retail theft per capita in the state is 12.2 percent lower than the nationwide average. That same data set shows that the instances of retail theft per capita in New York and California are 18.4 percent and 17 percent lower than the national average, respectively. The law stipulates that anyone who participates in a retail crime operation inclusive of five or more people can be charged with a third-degree felony, with a punishment of up to five years in prison and added harsher punishment for those who perpetuate organized crime rings via social media. Perhaps most significantly, the law also enables officials to charge anyone who has committed multiple instances of retail theft in Florida within a 120-day window with a felony; prior to DeSantis signing the law, only repeat offenders inside a 30-day window could be charged with a felony. Uthmeier's office did not provide details about the number of felonies the arrested retail crime suspects have been charged with, nor did the attorney general disclose the retailers that were impacted by the alleged thieves' operations. R. Scott Shalley, president of the Florida Retail Federation, said the work the trade organization has done with various state agencies has helped curtail the effect of crime on retailers' bottom lines in the state. 'Florida's retailers deeply value our strong partnership with law enforcement—our most important ally in the fight against organized retail crime,' Shalley said in a statement. 'The success of this nationwide blitz, and Florida's significant role in it, underscores the impact of collaboration through FORCE. We commend Attorney General Uthmeier, FDLE, and all participating agencies for their continued commitment to safeguarding Florida's businesses, employees, and customers from these criminal networks.'
