Pranav Adani Explains Thank Tank CRF's Role In Journey Towards Viksit Bharat

Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani congratulated the think tank Chitan Research Foundation (CRF) on celebrating its Foundation Day on Thursday, and expressed hope that the CRF will be a key motivator in shaping policies of India towards a Viksit Bharat.
"The three fundamental things that Chintan Research Foundation will take care of and will do research based on evidence are geopolitical issues, maintaining relations with our neighbours, and trade, economy, and energy transition," Mr Adani told NDTV at the event held in Delhi.
During his address, he said India is a chorus of voices and the real India is not in Delhi, but lies in the heartlands.
"I believe that India is not just Delhi. India lives in its heartland. India lives in Ranchi. India lives in Bhubaneswar. India lives in the North East. So, we are going to bring all those voices really into the mainstream. That's what we endeavor to do," Mr Adani said.
On Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani's vision that growth must not be measured just by numbers, but also by how many lives have been touched, the Adani Enterprises Director said, "It is very important, as our Chairman says, it doesn't just depend on numbers. All the time, you don't get measured only by numbers, but you get measured by the amount of lives you touch, the impact that you have. So, this is something that the Adani Group endeavors to do."
He said some of the challenges that India needs to overcome towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 include infrastructure growth, energy transition, defence, and how the country's citizens work together and how the country collaborates with its neighbours.
About the CRF, he said it is very important to have robust think tanks - think tanks that are purely research and evidence-based.
"So that is the role that Chintan Research Foundation will have on the economy in particular - supply chain, energy transition and so on," he noted, adding the CRF must imagine and re-imagine the role that India can play in shaping the future, especially of the Global South.
India's industries are driving economic growth, innovation, and global expansion. The CRF integrates industry insights into policy research to address regulatory challenges and enhance competitiveness. By bridging industry and governance, it shapes research for a stronger, more resilient economy.

Bengaluru: Minister for RDPR, IT and BT, Priyank Kharge, has written a letter to the External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Friday seeking clarification on denial of political clearance for an official visit to the United States. In his letter, Minister Kharge stated, 'I am writing to seek a formal clarification from the Ministry of External Affairs on the denial of political clearance for my scheduled official visit to the United States from June 14-27, 2025." "The visit was planned around two significant international forums, the BIO International Convention in Boston and the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Francisco, as well as several official meetings with top companies, universities and institutions, where I was to represent the Government of Karnataka to explore collaborations, attract investments and create employment opportunities for the state,' he said. "In the absence of a formal communication from the Ministry outlining the reasons for denial, it becomes difficult to assess and plan future engagements of this nature. 'I would, therefore, request the Ministry to kindly provide a formal explanation for the denial and consider a more transparent and consultative approach in handling such official engagements in the future,' Priyank Kharge demanded. Commenting on the Central government's denial of permission for his visit to the US, Minister Priyank Kharge had stated on Thursday that the NDA government was attempting to undermine Karnataka's success. Speaking to reporters at the Bengaluru International Airport after returning from a tour of Paris, Priyank Kharge had said, 'It seems they are trying to prevent Karnataka's success.' 'It is okay if they reject the permission, but there must be valid reasons for doing so. If they provide appropriate reasons, it becomes acceptable. However, the categorical denial of permission for the US visit is not right,' he stated. 'We were not going to the US to play 'Dandiya' (a traditional dance form). I will meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to discuss this matter. After the discussion, we will brief the media,' he said. "The Central government must provide valid reasons for refusing the visit to the US. Initially, the entire delegation was denied permission. Later, the delegation was cleared, but I was still denied permission,' Kharge said.

Disappointed when Adani airport deal cancelled, they're credible partner: Kenya's Odinga
Nairobi: Kenya's former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday said he was disappointed when the Adani Group deal to expand and manage Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) got cancelled. On the second day of the National Executive Retreat in Karen here, Odinga said that should the deal have proceeded, it would have elevated Nairobi into a regional economic hub, as per local media. "I was very disappointed when we were not able to move on with the airport contract that was very unfortunate,' the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader was quoted as saying in the Nairobi Leo publication. Citing political manoeuvring as the key reason for the deal's collapse, he said: "Kenya is very strategically located. I was very disappointed when we were not able to move on with the airport contract... If that is not done, Nairobi will become dormant." Before the cancellation of the deal, Odinga was among the leaders who defended the Adani Group. Kenyan President William Ruto ordered the cancellation of the Adani-JKIA expansion deal as well as the Adani-Ketraco deal, while issuing the State of the Nation Address in Parliament on November 21, 2024. Odinga said that the country lost a strategic opportunity after the deal fell through, adding that Adani's capabilities surpass those of other firms in East Africa. "Adani is a credible partner. They have proven their capabilities in projects that surpass what we have seen in East Africa," he said. The Adani Group has been interested in investing in Kenya since 2010, but this interest was hindered by the lack of a proper legal framework for public-private partnerships (PPPs) at the time. "I want to say that there needs to be transparency when dealing with such issues; otherwise, we risk condemning very reputable companies… Do not condemn innocent companies that are engaged in legitimate commercial transactions," the Kenyan leader was quoted as saying.

National Highways: Highway Expansion Seen as Key to India's Vision of Economic Growth, ET Infra
