People centric development must extend beyond Delhi as India is not one city, or one region—the different regions have different demands and voices, which must be heard and addressed, was a key suggestion put forward by the Chintan Research Foundation ( CRF ). The suggestion was put forward by Pranav Adani , Director of Adani Enterprises , on Thursday as Chintan Research Foundation (CRF), an independent think tank supported by Adani Group celebrated its first Foundation Day in New Delhi. The event witnessed an overwhelming presence of ambassadors, bureaucrats, journalists, fellow think tanks, industry leaders, and other key stakeholders to share the idea of the multi-faceted role that think tanks play in India. Speaking at the event, Pranav Adani voiced the crucial role that think tanks play being part of the development aspirations of India's journey and how CRF contributes to this with the mantra of 'growth with goodness'. He stated, "Policy is not abstract. It is personal. And, the growth must be measured not just in numbers, but in the lives that we touch, the lives we help improve. And this is CRF's mission — to drive change and contribute to India's rise in a way that uplifts every section of society and helps shape a Viksit Bharat .' Talking about India's transformation and Viksit Bharat, Amitabh Kant, India's former G20 Sherpa and CEO, NITI Aayog, echoed that CRF will be part of this transformation and appreciated the research work that CRF has done and continues to do so. To realize this vision, he emphasised the need of think tanks to provide constructive feedback to the government. He stated, 'India-based think tanks must aim to build an ecosystem of intellectual collaboration, where systemic thinking, evidence-based policy, creative problem-solving, and constructive criticism becomes the norm across sectors.' Only by continually asking where we stand and where we must act, India can effectively chart the future. This reflective inquiry has become a mission for CRF. Shishir Priyadarshi, President CRF highlighted a powerful conviction in the celebration, 'Think tanks must be more than silent observers and should create a space for a better, more inclusive, and more sustainable world where every voice resonates and drives action to lead a meaningful change for people-centric development.' For this he emphasised that think tanks must ask the tough questions-to the policymakers, to the government, and to the civil society. CRF has been doing extensive research on critical issues faced by the citizens including climate change, energy transition, economy, trade, investment, geopolitics, and strategic affairs. Here the uniqueness of CRF also lies in its approach as it integrates policy insights with industry realities while fostering connections between the government, industry, and citizens. Additionally, the speakers highlighted the significance of think tanks in reimagining India's role in shaping the future, particularly in relation to the Global South. For this, it is crucial for India tounderstand the reality, and focus on key areas - climate change, equitable energy transition, the global economy, critical supply chains, trade, and the overarching geopolitics through evidence-based research. Speakers and participants agreed that think tanks across India need to collaborate and prioritize objectivity, sustainability, and people-centric, data-driven solutions to address pressing policy challenges. CRF, as one of these entities, is committed to elevate ideas and empower people, and is poised to chart its role in India and the Global South.

India's growth story will be incomplete unless the country's heartland is brought into the economic mainstream, said Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani while speaking on the first foundation day of the Chintan Research Foundation."India is not only Delhi or the capital cities, but India lives in the heartland, that is why I said in my speech that whether it is Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar or the Northeast, what really matters is that this is where the real India lives, and this is where we want them to come into our focus, into our central economy," Adani told highlighted the importance of inclusive development, calling India's 1.4 billion citizens the country's greatest asset. "India is in a very great situation right now. The 1.4 billion people that we have are our real asset... 50% of the economy is engaged in the growth of the GDP, and the other 50% is passive. Now that has to really come into focus and I think that's when the real Indian growth story will happen and I'm very optimistic. We as a group are very optimistic," Adani added. The remarks came as part of a broader statement of intent from the newly launched Chintan Research Foundation, which Adani said would focus on three critical areas: climate change, trade, and geopolitics."I feel that a research foundation has a lot of responsibilities. Like I said in my speech, the Chintan Research Foundation will focus on three things -- climate change, trade and geopolitics," he foundation is expected to serve as a think tank and strategic platform aligned with India's developmental priorities. With energy transitions, global trade dynamics, and geopolitical realignments reshaping the economic landscape, Adani's emphasis on a focused research agenda comes at a pivotal call to action for India's heartland reflects a growing belief among business leaders: that India's long-term growth will depend not just on its metros, but on unlocking the potential of its smaller cities and rural belts."This is where the real India lives," Adani said. "And this is where we want them to come into our focus, into our central economy."

New Delhi: Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani congratulated the think tank Chintan Research Foundation (CRF) on celebrating its Foundation Day on Thursday, and expressed hope that the CRF will be a key motivator in shaping policies of India towards a Viksit Bharat. "The three fundamental things that Chintan Research Foundation will take care of and will do research based on evidence are geopolitical issues, maintaining relations with our neighbours, and trade, economy, and energy transition," Mr Adani told NDTV at the event held in Delhi. During his address, he said India is a chorus of voices and the real India is not in Delhi, but lies in the heartlands. "I believe that India is not just Delhi. India lives in its heartland. India lives in Ranchi. India lives in Bhubaneswar. India lives in the North East. So, we are going to bring all those voices really into the mainstream. That's what we endeavor to do," Mr Adani said. On Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani's vision that growth must not be measured just by numbers, but also by how many lives have been touched, the Adani Enterprises Director said, "It is very important, as our Chairman says, it doesn't just depend on numbers. All the time, you don't get measured only by numbers, but you get measured by the amount of lives you touch, the impact that you have. So, this is something that the Adani Group endeavors to do." He said some of the challenges that India needs to overcome towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 include infrastructure growth, energy transition, defence, and how the country's citizens work together and how the country collaborates with its neighbours. About the CRF, he said it is very important to have robust think tanks - think tanks that are purely research and evidence-based. "So that is the role that Chintan Research Foundation will have on the economy in particular - supply chain, energy transition and so on," he noted, adding the CRF must imagine and re-imagine the role that India can play in shaping the future, especially of the Global South. India's industries are driving economic growth, innovation, and global expansion. The CRF integrates industry insights into policy research to address regulatory challenges and enhance competitiveness. By bridging industry and governance, it shapes research for a stronger, more resilient economy.

'There are concerns, but luckily, all our assets abroad are safe. We shouldn't worry about it,' he told reporters on the sidelines of the Chintan Research Foundation's foundation day event. His remarks came as markets react to the worsening geopolitical situation in the Middle East. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone fell for the seventh straight session, slipping 2.5% to Rs 1,338. Among the key concerns is the Haifa Port in northern Israel, which the Adani Group acquired in early 2023. The strategic facility, a crucial Indian commercial asset in the region, is operating under the shadow of regional conflict, particularly amid fears of escalation between Israel and Iran. Speaking at ANI, Pranav Adani also outlined the vision of the Chintan Research Foundation, which he said will focus on 'climate change, geopolitical issues and economic entry' as its initial areas of research. 'Evidence-based research has many responsibilities. These three pillars will be our starting point,' he said. He emphasised the need to focus on India's heartland. 'India is not only Delhi or the capital cities. The real India lives in Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar and the Northeast... That's where inclusive growth should be centred,' he said. CRF President Shishir Priyadarshi said the foundation aims to tackle hard truths and propose solutions with a focus on zero-emission goals, inclusive prosperity, and the Global South's emergence. New Delhi [India], June 19 (ANI): Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, on Thursday said that the 'scale of transformation' is required for India to realise its full potential and become 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. Speaking at the first foundation day of Chintan Research Foundation in New Delhi, Adani Enterprises Director said, 'The scale of transformation is required for India to realise the full potential and become 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047 as envisioned by PM Modi.' Speaking on the activities of the Chintan Research Foundation (CRF), he said that the CRF focuses on crucial issues like climate change, equitable energy transition, the evolving global economy, crucial supply chains and dynamic trade relations, and geopolitics that shape the world's future. 'For three decades now, the Adani Group has been driving growth and accelerating innovation by entering the toughest and most critical infrastructure sectors of our nation. We see the Chintan Research Foundation working on the same lines, entering critical areas of research, deliberation, recommendation and impact while upholding independence and editorial integrity,' Adani added. Separately, speaking to ANI on the economic growth of India, Pranav Adani said, 'I think India is right now in a very great situation. I think these 1.4 billion people that we have are our real asset, like we heard in one of the speakers, he said that 50 per cent of the economy is really engaged in the growth of the GDP, and the other 50 per cent is passive. Now that has to really come into focus, and I think that's when the real Indian growth story will happen, and I'm very optimistic. We as a group are very optimistic.' Emphasising inclusiveness, Adani Enterprises' Director stated that CRF's work and research should be diversified beyond national capital so that other regions get the benefit of the remote areas. 'Let us move beyond Delhi. India is not just one city or one region. It is a chorus of diverse voices across geographies. The time has come to be inclusive by reaching out to Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, the northeast, the coastal areas, and the heartlands. Our work must extend to wherever our people are... The Chintan Research Foundation must deepen its presence across regions, conducting ground-level research, engaging with local policymakers and arranging events nationwide. This will help regional priorities to surface, and then our job is to bring them to the nation's attention,' Adani said. He further added that the foundation 'must offer policy narratives' to other developing countries. 'At the same time, our ambition must also cross borders and oceans. As the Global South rises, we must offer policy narratives to other developing countries based on our growth experience,' he added. Speaking to the media after the event, Adani also spoke about the safety and security of the projects of the Adani group, given the tensions in the Middle East, adding, 'all our assets abroad are safe.'
