India's growth lies in its heartland: Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani
India's growth story will be incomplete unless the country's heartland is brought into the economic mainstream, said Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani while speaking on the first foundation day of the Chintan Research Foundation."India is not only Delhi or the capital cities, but India lives in the heartland, that is why I said in my speech that whether it is Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar or the Northeast, what really matters is that this is where the real India lives, and this is where we want them to come into our focus, into our central economy," Adani told highlighted the importance of inclusive development, calling India's 1.4 billion citizens the country's greatest asset. "India is in a very great situation right now. The 1.4 billion people that we have are our real asset... 50% of the economy is engaged in the growth of the GDP, and the other 50% is passive. Now that has to really come into focus and I think that's when the real Indian growth story will happen and I'm very optimistic. We as a group are very optimistic," Adani added. The remarks came as part of a broader statement of intent from the newly launched Chintan Research Foundation, which Adani said would focus on three critical areas: climate change, trade, and geopolitics."I feel that a research foundation has a lot of responsibilities. Like I said in my speech, the Chintan Research Foundation will focus on three things -- climate change, trade and geopolitics," he foundation is expected to serve as a think tank and strategic platform aligned with India's developmental priorities. With energy transitions, global trade dynamics, and geopolitical realignments reshaping the economic landscape, Adani's emphasis on a focused research agenda comes at a pivotal call to action for India's heartland reflects a growing belief among business leaders: that India's long-term growth will depend not just on its metros, but on unlocking the potential of its smaller cities and rural belts."This is where the real India lives," Adani said. "And this is where we want them to come into our focus, into our central economy."

Pranav Adani Explains Think Tank CRF's Role In Journey Towards Viksit Bharat
New Delhi: Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani congratulated the think tank Chintan Research Foundation (CRF) on celebrating its Foundation Day on Thursday, and expressed hope that the CRF will be a key motivator in shaping policies of India towards a Viksit Bharat. "The three fundamental things that Chintan Research Foundation will take care of and will do research based on evidence are geopolitical issues, maintaining relations with our neighbours, and trade, economy, and energy transition," Mr Adani told NDTV at the event held in Delhi. During his address, he said India is a chorus of voices and the real India is not in Delhi, but lies in the heartlands. "I believe that India is not just Delhi. India lives in its heartland. India lives in Ranchi. India lives in Bhubaneswar. India lives in the North East. So, we are going to bring all those voices really into the mainstream. That's what we endeavor to do," Mr Adani said. On Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani's vision that growth must not be measured just by numbers, but also by how many lives have been touched, the Adani Enterprises Director said, "It is very important, as our Chairman says, it doesn't just depend on numbers. All the time, you don't get measured only by numbers, but you get measured by the amount of lives you touch, the impact that you have. So, this is something that the Adani Group endeavors to do." He said some of the challenges that India needs to overcome towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 include infrastructure growth, energy transition, defence, and how the country's citizens work together and how the country collaborates with its neighbours. About the CRF, he said it is very important to have robust think tanks - think tanks that are purely research and evidence-based. "So that is the role that Chintan Research Foundation will have on the economy in particular - supply chain, energy transition and so on," he noted, adding the CRF must imagine and re-imagine the role that India can play in shaping the future, especially of the Global South. India's industries are driving economic growth, innovation, and global expansion. The CRF integrates industry insights into policy research to address regulatory challenges and enhance competitiveness. By bridging industry and governance, it shapes research for a stronger, more resilient economy.

‘Scared BJP-Shinde desperately trying to prevent alliance with MNS': Thackeray
MUMBAI: Emphasising the need to protect the interests of Mumbai, Marathi and Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, addressing the speculation around his party's alliance with the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, said that he would do 'whatever the people of Maharashtra want'. The Shiv Sena (UBT) chief was speaking at the 59th anniversary function of the Shiv Sena, and his aggressive speech sounded the bugle for the upcoming BMC polls. Thackeray declared that the BJP and Shinde were desperately trying to prevent his alliance with his estranged cousin's party in order to prevent the Sena (UBT) from returning to power in Mumbai. They do not want the Marathi manoos to unite and are organising meetings for this,' he said. The efforts, he added, also stemmed from the BJP-Shinde Sena's obeisance towards Gautam Adani. Lambasting the stamp duty waiver to Adani's Dharavi Redevelopment Project, he said, 'They are fearful about what will happen to Adani if we come back to power. As Adani is their master, in order to serve his interests, these servants are disturbing the process of unity of the Marathi manoos.' Moving on to film-inspired histrionics, Thackeray cited a 1990 film, Prahar, in which Nana Patekar, a long-time Sena votary, had played an army man. 'The BJP and Shinde want to finish the Thackeray brand and our Shiv Sena,' he said. 'In Prahar, Nana Patekar challenges the goons to kill him. I am similarly daring the BJP and Shinde: 'I am standing here, come on, kill me.' But remember, when you come to kill me, I will send you back on a stretcher in an ambulance. We will win Mumbai and our saffron flag will dominate the BMC again.' Thackeray also urged his party workers to be alert to the BJP's plan 'to divide the people in the name of religion, caste and now language on the eve of the polls'. 'I have no problem with Hindi but I will not allow compulsory Hindi in primary education,' he said. 'They created conflict among Hindus over caste and now they are using language,' he said. 'People from North India living in Mumbai were associated with the Shiv Sena after the riots in 1992. With this Marathi-Hindi conflict, they want to create a divide between North Indians and our party. So be aware of this politics of divide and rule.' The Sena (UBT) chief said that such conflicts also had another purpose: to divert the attention of people away from the BMC's scams and the state government's corruption. To underline this, he gave the example of the concrete road scam and the Supreme Court's directive to cancel MMRDA's hugely inflated road works tender. Amid the controversy over his party's expelled leader Sudhakar Badgujar joining the BJP, Thackeray said the BJP was engineering defections from other parties by using power, and added that it betrayed its inability to develop new leadership in its own party. 'I pity the original BJP workers, as outsider leaders are enjoying positions of power and ruling them,' he quipped. Thackeray also criticised PM Narendra Modi by pointing out that not a single country stood in support of India against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attacks. 'Even PM Modi's friend Donald Trump invited the army chief of Pakistan,' he said. 'We supported the government in the war situation. But now I feel that India needs a prime minister who will look after the nation, since Modi only looks after the BJP. We also need another union home minister, as all Amit Shah is busy with is breaking other parties.'

Adani can't sub-lease its data centre project to another co until it's complete, says Noida
Noida: Noida Authority has ruled out the possibility of sub-leasing its Sector 80 industrial plot to Noida Data Centre Ltd — a group firm of Adani Enterprises Ltd — before the project is declared functional. The decision marks a reversal of the Authority's earlier stance, with officials insisting they would not allow any relaxation from original allotment conditions. According to officials, the plot allotted to Adani in 2021 was still undeveloped and the company had not applied for map approval either. They cited Clause 14-B of the lease deed, which clarified that sub-leasing would be allowed only after the unit obtained an occupancy certificate and became operational. In July last year, the Authority had initially approved the sub-leasing of 10 acres in Sector 80 to Noida Data Centre Ltd — a special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed jointly by Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX under the AdaniConnex venture. The land, allotted for Rs 70 crore in April 2021, was meant for developing a 50MW hyperscale data park within six years. However, the Authority reversed its decision at a meeting in March this year, following complications over transfer charges. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like O novo dispositivo que os idosos usam para ajudar na neuropatia (dor nos nervos) A arte do herbalismo Undo When the Authority demanded Rs 11 crore as transfer fee, Adani sought a waiver, citing a precedent where the Authority had allowed sub-leasing of its institutional plot in Sector 62 to another SPV without such charges. The company cited the Data Centre Policy of 2021. But although the policy allowed sub-leasing without transfer charges, it also empowered industrial development authorities to levy relevant fees under the UP Industrial Area Development Act, 1976. On June 9, the Authority denied the waiver and conveyed its decision to Adani through a letter, pointing out that the allottee had agreed to these provisions at the time of application and remained bound by them. Chief secretary Manoj Singh, who is also the Authority chairperson, also intervened. He clarified that the Sector 62 case couldn't be compared with that of Adani as it involved different categories of land use. Sector 80 followed industrial plot norms, while Sector 62 was allotted under institutional rules. "Noida Authority's policies for transfer or sub-lease of industrial and institutional plots are entirely different," Singh wrote to Authority CEO Lokesh M. In his letter, Singh also emphasised that the lease deed for the Sector 80 plot — executed in Oct 2021 — explicitly prohibited any kind of transfers before the project became functional. "The allottee was aware of the provisions.... Now, subsequent to signing the lease deed, the provisions of the Para 8.3.i of the Data Centre Policy 2021 cannot be taken recourse to," he wrote. While the IT and electronics department supported Adani's position — arguing that the Data Centre Policy should supersede the lease deed terms — the Authority stuck to its stance. A committee comprising the finance controller, chief legal adviser, and an additional CEO recommended that Adani's request for sub-lease and fee waiver be rejected, also insisting on project completion and the mandatory occupancy certificate. "Granting any relaxation would amount to a post-allotment benefit, which cannot be allowed under current rules," an official said.

India needs a scale of transformation to become 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047: Pranav Adani
New Delhi [India], June 19 (ANI): Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, on Thursday said that the 'scale of transformation' is required for India to realise its full potential and become 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. Speaking at the first foundation day of Chintan Research Foundation in New Delhi, Adani Enterprises Director said, 'The scale of transformation is required for India to realise the full potential and become 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047 as envisioned by PM Modi.' Speaking on the activities of the Chintan Research Foundation (CRF), he said that the CRF focuses on crucial issues like climate change, equitable energy transition, the evolving global economy, crucial supply chains and dynamic trade relations, and geopolitics that shape the world's future. 'For three decades now, the Adani Group has been driving growth and accelerating innovation by entering the toughest and most critical infrastructure sectors of our nation. We see the Chintan Research Foundation working on the same lines, entering critical areas of research, deliberation, recommendation and impact while upholding independence and editorial integrity,' Adani added. Separately, speaking to ANI on the economic growth of India, Pranav Adani said, 'I think India is right now in a very great situation. I think these 1.4 billion people that we have are our real asset, like we heard in one of the speakers, he said that 50 per cent of the economy is really engaged in the growth of the GDP, and the other 50 per cent is passive. Now that has to really come into focus, and I think that's when the real Indian growth story will happen, and I'm very optimistic. We as a group are very optimistic.' Emphasising inclusiveness, Adani Enterprises' Director stated that CRF's work and research should be diversified beyond national capital so that other regions get the benefit of the remote areas. 'Let us move beyond Delhi. India is not just one city or one region. It is a chorus of diverse voices across geographies. The time has come to be inclusive by reaching out to Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, the northeast, the coastal areas, and the heartlands. Our work must extend to wherever our people are... The Chintan Research Foundation must deepen its presence across regions, conducting ground-level research, engaging with local policymakers and arranging events nationwide. This will help regional priorities to surface, and then our job is to bring them to the nation's attention,' Adani said. He further added that the foundation 'must offer policy narratives' to other developing countries. 'At the same time, our ambition must also cross borders and oceans. As the Global South rises, we must offer policy narratives to other developing countries based on our growth experience,' he added. Speaking to the media after the event, Adani also spoke about the safety and security of the projects of the Adani group, given the tensions in the Middle East, adding, 'all our assets abroad are safe.' 'There are concerns, but luckily, all our assets abroad are safe. We shouldn't worry about it,' he added. (ANI)
