In just a couple of weeks, the final season of Squid Game is set to launch on Netflix.
Fans around the world are in a state of disbelief that the South Korean dystopian TV phenomenon is drawing to a close, concluding the story of Seong Gi-hun, aka Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae).
However, it might not be the absolute end, as the creator of the show Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed his gripping idea for a spin-off to Metro at last night's London premiere for season three.
The writer previously expressed interest in continuing the franchise, but he's now finally shared the details of what his idea would entail with familiar, terrifying characters… and we're desperate to see this fascinating plot play out.
While standing alongside lead actor Lee Jung-jae, Hwang Dong-hyuk emphasised that there was 'nothing concrete yet' for an official spin-off.

Nonetheless, he's thought long and hard about how the Squid Game universe could live on, suggesting that they could delve into the backstories of people including the sinister Frontman (Lee Byung-hun) and the Recruiter (Gong Yoo).
'This is just some ideas that I've been throwing around during production. But there's a three-year gap between season one and two, since Gi-hun turns away from the plane,' he said.
'So I'd like to maybe look into the lives of those behind the mask, the Frontman, the Recruiter and Captain Park. How did they meet? What did they do during the three years?
'How did they stay on top of Gi-hun and whatnot? So that's something that I'm thinking about. I have to make it!'
Metro TV Editor, Sabrina Barr
When I first heard that there was talk of a Squid Game spin-off series, I envisioned a show taking place after the events of season three, perhaps following Gi-hun's daughter as she seeks revenge for her father, if he doesn't make it out of the game for a second time.
However, hearing Hwang Dong-hyuk talk about the possibility of a sequel series that would fill in the blanks of that three-year gap between seasons one and two has piqued my interest greatly.
I would still love to delve into the aftermath of the original series, but there is so much history about the game that we don't know, with ample content that could pack out a prequel focusing on the Frontman, the Recruiter and Captain Park.
Alternatively, I also think it would be fascinating to watch a prequel on the very first Squid Game, so that we can find out how the game started in the first place, and what it was like in that inaugural year.
On the other hand, maybe part of the allure that surrounds Squid Game is the sense of mystery, with the audience never being privy to the answers that they crave.
Either way, I'm elated that it definitely feels as though there is more Squid Game to come in the future.
The Frontman and the Recruiter have been a part of Squid Game since the beginning, although the former was only unmasked at the very end of season one, when he revealed himself to his brother, detective Detective Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon).
The latter shed light on his backstory in season two, when he explained to Gi-hun that he willingly shot his own father dead during the game while he was working as a soldier.

Captain Park (Oh Dal-su) was introduced in season two as the fisherman who saved Hwang Jun-ho's life when he was shot by his brother and fell from a cliff into the sea. More Trending
In season two, the captain was shown helping the police detective to search for the island where Squid Game takes place, but it was later revealed that he was actually a double agent working for the Frontman.
Learning how this trio worked together behind the scenes, and how they were able to keep tabs on Gi-hun in the three years after he won the game, would add a new layer to one of the most thought-provoking thrillers on TV.

Girls enjoy unexpected Grave Encounter with Hollywood actress Jenna Ortega

Her role in Addams Family spin-off Wednesday has seen her shoot all manner of graveyard scenes with her on-screen mother Catherine Zeta Jones. And it seems actress Jenna Ortega is equally at home in cemetries during her time off after she was spotted walking her dog in Glasgow 's Victorian city of the dead. The 22 year old Netflix star, who is in Scotland to film scenes for Star Wars director JJ Abrams latest movie, took time out of her day for a stroll in Glasgow's necropolis. During the outing, the friendly star stopped to pose for a photo with a group of young women, including another famous face - Dave Grohl 's daughter Harper, 16. It's not clear if Grohl, who has been sharing photos of the city's tourist attractions on social media this week, was there with Ortega or if it was a chance celebrity encounter. The Wednesday star looked relaxed in her all black ensemble as she posed for pictures with the group at the Necropolis - with the images showing her laughing during the exchange. Meanwhile, Dave Grohl's second eldest daughter Harper is an accomplished drummer who has joined her father onstage at gigs before. Ortega told the Scots she met that she was exploring the city during her break before shooting scenes for the Abrams film at 10pm. One of the group who spoke to Ortega, took to social media to share details of the encounter. She wrote: 'She's shooting a film here. We met her on her break.' She addded: 'She said we all looked so cool and she complimented my friends shirt!' Inspired by the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, Glasgow's necropolis opened in May 1833 and is the final resting place for some 50,000 souls from the 19th century. Ortega was also spotted taking a stroll around the city centre, circling Blytheswood Square, Pitt Street and West George Street with her beloved dog. The American star, who has been acting since 2012, became a household name thanks to her part as the central character in Netflix comedy series Wednesday based on The Addams Family character of the same name. Fellow co-stars include 55-year-old Zeta Jones, who plays Wednesday's mother Morticia, and former Bond girl Joanna Lumley, 79, who is a new edition for season two as Moriticia's mother Hester Frump. And it isn't the only spooky production Ortega's been involved in, having starred in Beetlejuice 2 alongside Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. Abrams' latest movie is rumoured to be a sci-fi adventure called Ghostwriter and also stars Hollywood actors Glen Powell and Samuel L Jackson. The Warner Bros production was in Edinburgh and has now been filming long shoots into the early hours of the morning in Glasgow. Sets include dystopian Asian style restaurants with futuristic vehicles and although Jackson has not yet been seen, Powell has been spotted running up hills and walking along pavements in character. Director Abrams told fans who met him this week that he was enjoying his time shooting in Glasgow after being here secretly in February to check out locations during Glasgow Film Festival.

Roy urges Corrie favourite to go to the police after shocking discovery

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is disturbed in upcoming Coronation Street episodes when his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) makes a shock confession. This comes in the aftermath of a party that's been thrown at number 7 by Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain). Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) is at the party and he tells Dylan (Liam McCheyne) he has a bottle of LSD and he's planning to make some money by selling it. Dylan is worried about the repercussions of what Brody is planning. When Aadi sees that Brody has drugs he kicks him out of the party – but after Brody's gone, Aadi, Summer (Harriet Bibby) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher) prepare to take the drugs. While Nina and Summer go ahead, Aadi is distracted elsewhere and when he returns someone else has taken his share. Summer and Nina are soon feeling the effects of the drug and they wander outside and eventually find their way to the cafe. Roy (David Neilson) is away, so Nina lets them in to the darkened cafe. Suddenly they hear the sound of sirens and they cling to each other in a state of terror. Clearly something awful has happened, but the following day the girls only have a hazy recollection of what went on – though they know it was something bad. They retrace their steps in an effort to piece together the events of the previous night. Meanwhile, elsewhere someone else is in a very bad way after taking Aadi's share of the drugs the night before. News gets to Kit (Jacob Roberts) that there were drugs at the party, and Kit questions Aadi about what happened, what drugs were involved and who was supplying them. Will Aadi keep quiet about what happened? By now, Summer and Nina are panicking as they realise they witnessed something really bad on the night of the party. They agree that it's too late to tell anyone about it and their best course of action is to keep quiet and hope nobody asks them any questions. Kanye West's wife Bianca Censori defiant in candy bikini after 50 Cent attack

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Bianca Censori has stepped out in yet another ultra-revealing ensemble, wearing just a tiny candy bikini on an outing with husband Kanye West. Since the Australian model, 30, married the rapper, 48, in 2022, the public has become accustomed to seeing rather a lot of her, whether it be her totally sheer Grammys dress or a barely-there underwear set. Consequently, concerns have been raised for her welfare, with the internet convinced that Ye is dictating what his spouse wears, especially given that he will always be fully clothed next to her. But as speculation about the nature of her marriage to Ye rages on, Bianca turned heads once more on Saturday with plenty of skin on show. She and the Yeezy fashion designer were seen exiting a chrome Mercedes-Maybach before arriving at the Mercer Hotel in New York, later making their way to a Brooklyn studio. In just her bra and a thong, Bianca's skimpy attire was made entirely out of sweets, not holding much in. Whether or not it was real, edible candy is anyone's guess, but we can't imagine it's the kind of look you'd see an Oompa Loompa rocking in the Chocolate Factory. The brunette wore her long locks in a sleek, straight style, was clutching her phone, and added a pair of metallic silver heels. In stark contrast, walking beside her, Ye was entirely covered, wearing black trousers, a grey hoodie, and tan boots. Maintaining his usual stoic expression, he covered his eyes with shades. The appearance marks Ye and Bianca's first public outing since rap star 50 Cent made a dig at the Gold Digger hitmaker's wife. Last week, Ye unexpectedly arrived at court as Sean 'Diddy' Combs' trial continues. He faces serious federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, which he has denied and pleaded not guilty to. Ye's appearance is said to have been short-lived, as, according to CNN, since he was not listed as an official attendee, he was directed to an overflow courtroom. After watching the proceedings via closed-circuit video for less than an hour, he exited the building and was seen driving off. Afterwards, 50 – real name Curtis James Jackson III – made it known how he felt, with Ye's arrival being widely interpreted as a display of support for Combs. Taking to Instagram, the Candy Shop hitmaker posted an AI-generated image of himself wearing a white ensemble similar to Ye's court look. In a savage caption, he dragged both Ye and his wife, making a reference to her nearly naked Grammys frock from earlier in the year. 'We are wearing white in honor of the freak offs,' he wrote. 'Damn Ye, you should have brought your dirty little wife with that Grammys outfit! @50centaction.' The 'freak offs' comment was seemingly a jibe at the unsettling sexual assault allegations surrounding Combs, who allegedly held days-long sex parties, which also involved ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. While famously loose-lipped on social media, Ye did not retort. He has, however, not made a secret of his friendship with Combs, having ignited rumours that the two had worked on a song together, on which he wanted daughter North West, 11, to feature, much to the fury of her mother, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. In March, the exes' latest row went public when Ye released a track titled Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine, which he said was a collaboration between Diddy, North, King Combs, and Jasmine Williams. Ye posted text messages online between himself and Kim, in which the Stronger rapper accused his former partner and her family of limiting his access to the children. More Trending It's been said that Kim, who was married to Ye from 2014 to 2022 and shared four kids with him, has displayed solidarity with Bianca during the time she has been with her ex. While reports recently claimed that Bianca was hoping to end their marriage due to living in an 'aggressive situation', the couple seemed to patch things up. However, Skims founder Kim reportedly wants Bianca to know she is there for her, with a source telling Page Six that she has shown 'support' for Bianca and has let her know she's there to 'talk if she needs'. An insider claimed to the outlet that Kim 'feels like she's the only other person on this planet who truly knows what Bianca has been through'. Got a story?
