Receiving four nods — nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for "Cowboys Cry Too" (featuring Noah Kahan) as an artist AND a producer — at the 60th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Kelsea Ballerini is gearing up for one of the biggest nights of her country music career thus far.
Ahead of the ACM Awards — which will take place at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas tomorrow (May 8) — Ballerini stopped by media row to tease what we can expect from her. While speaking with Country Now, she delved into the details of her soon-to-be spectacular red carpet look, as well as what fans will see when she takes the stage, joining the prestigious list of performers at the 2025 ACM Awards: Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Chris Stapleton, Blake Shelton, Zach Top, Lainey Wilson and more.
As far as her red carpet look goes, Ballerini teased, "This is, as an artist, my biggest ACMs that I've gotten to attend, and so I wanted to find a carpet outfit that felt kinda timeless and classic, so that I could always look back at these photos and this night and feel good about it." While we don't know what her dress will look like exactly, we are hopeful that she will have her go-to accessory by her side: her boyfriend, Outer Banks and Uglies star Chase Stokes.
Now, as far as her performance goes, the Tennessee native revealed that she will be performing "Baggage," a fan-favorite tune from her fifth studio album: PATTERNS.
For those who need a refresher, the 31-year-old has had a whirlwind of success in the country music scene ever since her oh-so public split from fellow country star Morgan Evans. The beginning of said success stemmed from her 2023 EP titled Rolling Up The Welcome Mat, covering the gut-wrenching heartbreak that stemmed from her divorce. To follow, the talented singer/songwriter put out her her 2024 album titled PATTERNS — which featured smash hits like "Baggage,""Sorry Mom,""Cowboys Cry Too" (featuring Noah Kahan) and more — covering the healing and overall happiness that came afterwards instead.
'I'm excited. I mean, this is our first big performance of it — other than being on tour — and it just feels like a performance that I can show up, being nominated for Entertainer of the Year, and feel like I'm delivering something that is maybe worthy of that nomination,' she spilled.
Nevertheless, to see Ballerini take the stage to perform "Baggage," tune into the the 2025 ACM Awards tomorrow at 8pm ET/5pm PT via Prime Video, as well as the Amazon Music channel via Twitch. With Reba McEntire hosting the show for 18th time — making history as the longest-running host in ACM history — it is sure to be an evening to remember!

Ballerini recalled texting Kahan just days before the show. 'I was like, 'I'm sure the answer is you want to be a hermit right now, but just in case, do you want to come play CMA Fest?'' His response? ''I've never done CMA Fest. I've never played a stadium.' I was like, 'Didn't you headline Fenway?' And he said, 'Yeah, but a proper football stadium.'' According to Ballerini, Kahan said yes at the very last minute. Even after her set was cut short due to rain, she insisted on performing 'Stick Season' with him. 'You came all the way down here with your friends and your family,' she said. 'We have to do 'Stick Season.'' '[Noah] is just a joy to be on stage with,' Ballerini added. 'He has that 'I'm just happy to be here' mentality, which I love.' The pair first teamed up for 'Cowboys Cry Too,' released in April 2024, which Ballerini previously called a career highlight. Kelsea Ballerini says fitness in her 20s was all about looks. Here's what changed once she hit her 30s.
In her 20s, Kelsea Ballerini says she worked out to look good. Now that she's in her 30s, it's all about feeling good — physically, mentally, and emotionally. In an interview with People published on Wednesday, the country music star spoke about how her approach to fitness has changed over the years. "Especially in my early twenties and mid-twenties, the idea of fitness was very much only aesthetically driven, and that was my goal," Ballerini, 31, told People. Now, she wants to be healthy and have the energy to keep up with her career and the people she loves. "The goal now is like, can I run around onstage for 90 minutes and have that energy to do it? Can I wake up and take both the dogs on a walk, and make sure that Dibs is going to all of his doctor appointments, and I'm on Zooms in the middle of it? Can I be present for everything that I need to? Can I make time for my friends, for my family, in the middle of all the chaos?" Ballerini said. While Ballerini practices Pilates to stay in shape, her go-to workout is a good walk. "Walking is so good for you. It also makes you get fresh air and some good sunshine, and that's so good for your mental health," she said. Diet-wise, Ballerini follows the 80/20 rule: eating healthily 80% of the time and being more flexible for the remaining 20%. She also says she enjoys eating at home, and her go-to meal is a chimichurri steak, which she has "a couple of times a week." However, there's one guilty pleasure she can't give up: McDonald's. "As a kid, I was such a picky eater, and my parents joke with me, like, 'All you would eat were waffles and chicken nuggets.' So I think it's just probably my inner child craving it still," Ballerini said. Six health and fitness specialists previously shared with Business Insider five key habits people can adopt in their 30s to boost longevity. They include eating a Mediterranean diet, wearing sunscreen, and managing stress.
