Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie became household names as the unstoppable cleaning duo on Channel 4's How Clean Is Your House?, a ratings hit that aired from 2003 to 2009 in the UK.
In the show, they visited some of Britain's grimiest abodes, bringing tough love, cleaning expertise, and sparkling makeovers. Their on-screen dynamic, marked by contrasting personalities and straight-shooting advice, made them both entertaining and curiously likeable.
However, unbeknownst to fans, a deep rift was forming between the two TV personalities behind the scenes.

Despite their fame as the formidable grime-fighting team on How Clean Is Your House? , Kim and Aggie weren't exactly close friends when the cameras stopped rolling. While their on-screen chemistry – Kim's fiery nature paired with Aggie's measured, scientific approach – was vital to the show's success, tensions bubbled beneath the surface, reports the Mirror.
Over time, Kim has candidly expressed their lack of personal connection, stating bluntly that they "never got on" and that their working relationship was purely professional.
Aggie, 69, has taken a more reserved stance, acknowledging, however, that their relationship wasn't exactly warm. She once hinted that the pair held "very different values" and approached life from distinct angles, contributing to their distance.
Since the programme concluded in 2009, they haven't worked together again, and public spats have only reinforced the notion that their on-screen clean-up act didn't translate to patching up personal differences. Despite the tense dynamic, their contrasting personalities contributed to the show's success, with viewers as captivated by the disorder and honesty as they were by the cleaning.
Following the announcement of Kim's passing at the age of 83 on Monday, Aggie has shed light on the cause of their devastating rift, confessing that it was Kim's inability to manage her temper that proved to be the last straw for her. Speaking to The Mirror, Aggie, who now enjoys a successful career as a yoga teacher in North London, recounted the incident that terminated their somewhat amicable professional relationship.
Aggie reveals that she and Kim barely exchanged any words and 'never really spoke again' after a major disagreement in January 2008. She recalls that they were performing together as the Ugly Sisters in a pantomime production of Cinderella in Brighton when tensions flared.
Recounting the distressing and triggering event, Aggie says they were waiting off-stage for their cue, but Kim didn't move when it was time to go on. Aggie then nudged Kim on the shoulder, went out, and led her off the stage once their scene had finished.
That's when things spiralled out of control.
"Kim missed her cue so I tapped her on the shoulder. We went on and did our scene, but when we came out at the other side, Kim was furious. She pushed me. She actually pushed me so hard that I fell over," Aggie alleges. "I lost it then. I really really lost it with her. I was so furious because I wasn't expecting to be pushed over like that."
Aggie then described the tense aftermath of their unexpected altercation as the Pantomime performance descended into disarray. "The whole thing kind of blew up then. She went off to her dressing room and she was crying her eyes out. She was really upset and I was really upset – I was so furious."
While Kim and Aggie took a moment apart to compose themselves during the interval, Aggie recounts that the production team was frantically trying to keep the show on track. With the audience waiting, they prepared a lead dancer to step in for Kim's role, as she declared she wouldn't return to the stage or come close to Aggie.
"The lead dancer was being made up to take her part because she was refusing to go back on stage, and this was an audience of hundreds of people. It was really a huge problem and the interval had to be extended by quite a bit. But in the end, Kim burst out of her dressing room and announced 'I'm going back out there'.
"It was awful. She came on and it was so obvious that she had been crying. I knew there were people in the audience thinking to themselves 'what the f**k is going on here'. It was mental. And after all that, I was just done. It felt like she had kind of crushed me. The disrespect was so much and I knew that I couldn't actually continue being civil anymore without an apology."
When probed about whether Kim ever offered her an apology, Aggie responded with laughter. "No, no, no, no. I don't think that Kim knew how to apologise to anyone," she said.
"She was a very complex person. Essentially, she probably had no confidence, she probably deep down hated herself, and so in order to survive she had to put on a big front to keep herself protected and to keep people away. If she apologised to me, that would be showing weakness in her eyes. So no, I never got an apology from her."

The world learnt of Kim's passing on Tuesday, June 17, when her representatives revealed that she succumbed to a brief illness. A spokesperson for Kim memorialised her with the words: "It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness.
"Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person. Her husband Peter is heartbroken at the loss of his soulmate. We are so proud of the amazing things Kim achieved in her life and career. We kindly ask that Kim's husband and close friends are given the time and privacy they need to grieve. We will not be releasing any further details."
Aggie Mackenzie, like many across the country, was taken aback upon learning of Kim's unexpected passing. "I was really surprised. I was so shocked, because I didn't know that she had been ill. I know that it was a short illness but I don't know how long it went on for. It felt so out of the blue. But I suppose the day was going to come at some point, unless I died first."
Reflecting on the last time they communicated, Aggie confessed it might have been over 15 years since their chat following the wrap of How Clean Is Your House. Despite not meeting again in person, Kim made frequent appearances in Aggie's subconsciousness, evoking thoughts of mending their friendship.
"I have no memory of the last time I spoke to Kim. It was years and years ago. But I did used to dream about Kim a lot, but I never actually saw her in real life again. The dreams were mostly about us making up and being friendly again. They were kind of telling me that life is short and it made me wonder if we should just be nice to one another."
Aggie reflected on her past relationship with Kim, revealing a complex dynamic. "But I never reached out after them, even though a part of me did want to reconcile. I never wanted not to be her friend, but she didn't really do friendships actually. She was a very untrusting person and she was very suspicious of everyone and she was never able to let her guard down, so it was extremely difficult to try and get close to her. I think she always felt as though people were going to turn on her or do her over, so it was hard to get through those walls," she recalled.
Despite experiencing recurring dreams about Kim and the fact that Kim has now passed away, Aggie confessed she harbours no regrets about not making contact with her former co-star again. "I don't have any regrets about not reaching out to Kim."
Aggie also offered a glimpse into Kim's personal life, particularly her marriage to Peter Woodburn, her husband of 46 years. Upon hearing of Kim's passing, Aggie expressed her sympathy for Peter.
"I feel so sorry for him," she said. "I feel like he is really going to be lost without her. I feel sad for Peter.
"Kim was always very sweet to Peter. They were together for decades and they seemed to be very dedicated to one another. She never ever dissed him to me and in the rare times that she would let her guard down, she would never say a bad word about Peter. She was never unkind about him. There was a lot of love there and I know that he really did love her," Aggie shared.
Paying tribute to Kim following her passing on Tuesday, Aggie shared with The Mirror: "Kim was a tormented soul, but now she's finally at peace. We clashed often. Behind the fierce persona was deep pain and incredible strength. She survived because she had to. I hope she's resting now. She was an unforgettable woman."

Millions of Freeview watchers hit by big Channel 4 change and must re-scan TV boxes to keep popular channel

MILLIONS of Freeview watchers have been hit by a big channel change as viewers are urged to re-scan their TV boxes. Channel 4 has boosted Freeview coverage for one of its channels this month, meaning you'll need to retune to continue watching. As part of Freeview's monthly channel update, 4seven transitioned to a new frequency as of Wednesday 18 June. This is because of an important technical change to the way the Channel 4 offshoot channel is broadcast on Freeview. It will give more Freeview users access to the channel at a time when 4seven is increasingly used as an overspill for live events. 4seven has recently become the home of a selected number of men's European Championship U21 games, including Netherlands v Ukraine and Slovenia v Czechia. They have previously broadcast coverage of the Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies. But for the time being, 4seven is broadcasting on both new and old frequencies. At the end of this transition period, the old copy of 4seven will carry a retune caption. But you can retune today to ensure continued reception of 4seven on channel 49. Following your retune, you should see 4seven on channel 49 and the old copy of 4seven on channel 790. What's better is the channel now has universal coverage on Freeview. It's now available to all viewers in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man in addition to UK viewers who can only receive a reduce Freeview channel line-up. If you're a viewer who only receives around 20 basic Freeview channels at your address, you can retune to add 4seven to channel 49. It's a big bonus to some viewers as some remote locations with reduced access to Freeview are also affected by poor internet speeds meaning they can't stream TV either. This follows a reconfiguration of the frequency that carries the main Channel 4 service on Freeview, meaning the 4seven signal can now be aired alongside its parent channel. Kay Burley joins This Morning in TV return after departure from Sky News It's not the only Freeview change seen this month either. Just last week it was announced that Rewind TV is now on channel 81. It has swapped places with Blaze +1 and is now the next-door channel to the vintage Talking Pictures channel. There's also a new shopping channel with Must Have Ideas setting up shop on channel 96. The service was previously exclusive to satellite TV such as Sky and on YouTube but a retune will now add the channel to your service. Millions of Freeview watchers can also enjoy three new channels this month. Starting from this week, viewers will be able to tune into a number of channels including ITV Quiz, a fresh channel dedicated to quizzes.

King Charles pays sweet birthday tribute to Prince William

With the Prince of Wales turning 43 today, his father King Charles has paid a touching tribute to his son by posting a picture on social media. To mark the 43rd birthday of the Prince of Wales, King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a touching birthday post on social media this morning. Along with sharing their well wishes for the prince, a picture of Prince William was posted on social media. Shared earlier this year, the image on X showed the 43-year-old wearing a blue shirt and smiling while sitting on a rock wall in the countryside. Many fans of Prince William have commented that the Royal is 'ageing like a fine wine' in the run up to his birthday. ‌ However, many fans of the Royal family are wondering if Prince Harry will be sending his best wishes to mark his older brother's birthday. ‌ Royal fans have also said that they have been delighted to see adorable details emerge about the future king's marriage with Kate Middleton, reports the Mirror. At an event that took place earlier this week, fans were thrilled to see the prince grinning at his wife. Appearing at the Order of the Garter in Windsor on Monday, June 16, the couple were seen to be united as they stunned fans with their gorgeous ensemble. Kate was seen in an all-white Self-Portrait dress and matching wide-brim hat, while William wore dark blue velvet mantles - the insignia of the order- and a distinctive feathered bonnet. In an Instagram post showing the happy couple, the caption read: "A pleasure attending the Order of the Garter today in Windsor. A brilliant celebration of tradition, service and duty. Thank you to everyone involved." ‌ Fans were quick to praise the couple in the comments, as one person wrote: "Those two are aging like a fine wine!" Another fan also noted the look of 'true love' that Princess Kate was giving to her husband. They said: "20+ years & 3 adorable children[...] Catherine only has eyes for Prince William. This is true love." However, not everyone was blown away by the couple and their appearance, as one person remarked: "Lovely. However, William needs gone of that beard. Makes him look old." ‌ Despite this, many fans were highly complimentary, with another person writing: "What a treat for us Royal watchers! Princess Catherine looks absolutely stunning and Prince William as handsome as ever!" While one person added: "Prince William and Princess Catherine look absolutely stunning and majestic!!" ‌ As Prince William turns 43 today, many people have been left speculating if his estranged younger brother, Prince Harry, will also mark the occasion. At the moment it is thought that the brothers are not on speaking terms. Last year, the Royal family took to social media to pay tribute to the Duke of Sussex's 40th birthday. On X, the Royal Family posted a photo with Harry smiling to mark the occasion, writing: "Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!" Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! A very similar post was uploaded on William and Kate's social media account. They wrote: "Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!" While it is unknown if Prince Harry will send his regards, the Princess of Wales took to Instagram to post a birthday message for her husband. In the image, the prince is seen to be sat surrounded by gorgeous puppies, with the caption saying: "Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies!"

David and Victoria Beckham hurt by 'pointed Nicola and Brooklyn's 'pointed' move

The ongoing feud between David and Victoria Beckham and their son Brooklyn is escalating, as friends of the family have slammed Brooklyn's wife Nicola for hurting the family with her 'pointed' moves The ongoing feud between the Beckhams and their son Brooklyn is only escalating, with friends of David and Victoria's reportedly accusing Nicola Peltz of "deliberately" rubbing it in. Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola, 30, have distanced themselves from Victoria and David, following a series of snubs. Although their eldest son Brooklyn and his nepo-baby wife Nicola are keeping quiet on the situation, as are the Beckhams, the couple have been notably absent from a slew of family-centred events and social media posts – or lack thereof – have spoken volumes. The previously close-knit family has gone ahead with events, including David's 50th birthday celebrations and his long-awaited knighthood, but Brooklyn and Nicola have shunned it all by not turning up to events or acknowledging the special occasions on social media. ‌ Meanwhile, the pair have publicly praised Nicola's parents numerous times on social media. Back in April, the couple posted an Easter basket they received from her parents, with the pair issuing a 'thank-you' to them on Instagram – despite Brooklyn completely ignoring his mum on Mother's Day just weeks before. ‌ Father's Day also went without mention from Brooklyn, but Nicola gushed over her father, billionaire businessman and investor Nelson Peltz. According to a friend of the couple, it has been a particularly painful time for the Beckhams. Speaking to the Mail, a source said: "It all feels very pointed. Like Brooklyn and Nicola are deliberately trying to rub David and Victoria's noses in it." Elsewhere, a separate source recently claimed that the Beckhams' attempts to support their kids to stand on their own two feet has been taken as "tight" by the Peltzes. But, after Nicola's parents gifted her money to buy a £10.5 million mansion in Los Angeles, another source stated Victoria is concerned that her son is trapped. An insider said that the family were hoping his move to America wouldn't be "permanent", but their "house purchase quashes any last hopes". And with both Nicola and Brooklyn named on the house, he could find it difficult to up and move. A source told the Mirror: "This house has nothing to do with family dynamics. Both Nicola and Brooklyn's careers are based in Los Angeles, and Brooklyn spent part of his childhood there while his father played for LA Galaxy. ‌ "During that time, he attended school in LA for several years and built a life and friendships in the city. LA has always felt like home to him." But Victoria and David, who both come from working class backgrounds, have always put emphasis on the need for independence. The source added: "When it came to buying this house, of course they weren't just going to hand their son millions of pounds — what sort of message does that send?" ‌ However, a source close to Brooklyn has slammed the claims as "cruel and baseless". They claimed: "It's disappointing—and frankly absurd—that anyone would try to twist Nicola and Brooklyn's marriage, and this meaningful milestone of home ownership, into something toxic. "Their relationship is grounded in love, respect, and commitment. The suggestion that Brooklyn is 'trapped' isn't just false—it's a deliberately cruel and baseless narrative aimed at undermining a strong, loving marriage.'
