Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday directed district Collectors to resolve all legitimate land related applications by August 15, the deadline set for tackling the state's ongoing land issues.
The Minister, who met newly appointed Collectors in his chambers at the Secretariat, stated that hundreds of families in every village across Telangana are facing land problems due to errors stemming from the previous government's Dharani portal. He advised the respective district collectors to find solutions to all these issues through the recently enacted Bhu Bharati Act.
Mr Reddy emphasised that top priority should be given to resolving applications received during the Bhu Bharati Revenue Committee meetings, aiming to alleviate the hardships and suffering experienced by farmers regarding land matters under the previous administration. He stressed that the next two months would be crucial for the Revenue Department, and all legitimate applications must be resolved by August 15. The Minister highlighted the significant responsibility of collectors in implementing government schemes and ensuring they reach every eligible individual. He suggested that collectors should operate in accordance with the government's guiding principle that it will work in line with the aspirations of the people.

HYDERABAD: Revenue minister Ponguleti SrinivasReddy on Saturday said the Congress govt is overhauling the revenue administration, which had deteriorated during the BRS's decade-long rule. He said that the Bhu Bharati Act, aimed at providing lasting solutions to long-pending land disputes in Telangana, is being implemented with seriousness and has already brought a positive shift in the system. At a review meeting with senior officials on the successful completion of revenue meets (sadassulu) across the state, the minister said over 10 lakh land-related applications were received across three phases. Between June 3 and 20, revenue meets were held in 10,239 villages across 561 mandals, during which eight lakh more applications were received. In all, 10,725 sadassulu were conducted in 593 mandals, with 8.58 lakh applications submitted. 'In the first phase, held from April 17 to 30, around 12,000 applications were submitted through 72 sadassulu across four mandals. In the second phase, which began on May 5, over 46,000 applications were collected through 414 meetings in 28 mandals. Over 60% of those issues have been resolved, excluding sadabainama cases,' he said. Sadabainama refers to a land transaction, where land ownership is recorded only on paper. Khammam district received the highest number of applications at 67,000, followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (48,000), and Nalgonda (42,000). The minister said free application forms were distributed a day prior in villages, and special teams were deployed under the supervision of tahsildars. So far, 3.27 lakh applications have been registered online, and officials have been instructed to expedite the remaining cases.

About 8.5 lakh applications received in Revenue Sadassus and 60% of them resolved: Minister Ponguleti

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the Congress government was systematically cleansing the revenue system that was plagued by corruption and mismanagement during the decade-long BRS rule. Speaking at a review meeting with officials on Saturday, the Minister stated that the recently concluded State-wide revenue sessions have ushered in a new era of transparency in land administration. Stating that the outreach was extensive, the Minister revealed that 10,725 revenue sessions were conducted in three phases across 593 mandals, during which a total of 8.58 lakh applications related to land issues were received. In the first phase (April 17 to 30), 72 revenue sessions across 4 mandals were held and 12,000 applications were received. In Phase-2 (from May 5), 414 sessions across 28 mandals were held and 46,000 applications were received. In the last phase (June 3 to 20), 10,239 sessions were held across 561 mandals and 8 lakh applications were received. The highest applications were received in Khammam (67,000) followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalapalli (48,000) and Nalgonda (42,000). The Minister noted that more than 60% of issues, excluding those involving title complexities, have already been resolved, reflecting the responsive nature of the new system introduced by the government. He said special efforts were made to make the process accessible and transparent. On the eve of each revenue conference, free application forms were distributed to farmers in villages. Special MRO-led teams received applications without collecting any fees and provided receipts on the spot. Out of the total received, 3.27 lakh applications have already been digitised and registered online. The Minister alleged that the revenue system, once destroyed and paralysed by political negligence, was now being rebuilt with the trust of the people. The implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act was launched on April 14 by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Minister praises pivotal role of Revenue Department in Andhra Pradesh's development

VIJAYAWADA: Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra praised the pivotal role of the Revenue Department in the State's development, calling its services invaluable. The Minister was speaking at the Revenue Day celebrations held at the Revenue Kalyana Mandapam in Machilipatnam on Friday. The Minister said the department, established nearly 238 years ago, deserves special recognition for its dedicated public service. Swathi, and others also participated. On the sidelines, officials and staff celebrated Minister Kollu Ravindra's birthday and extended their wishes.
