Revenue ‘grama sabhas' flooded with land related grievances
Hyderabad: The Revenue Department has successfully completed statewide revenue 'grama sabhas' that are aimed at resolving land related issues, following the introduction of Bhu Bharati Act. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy informed that approximately 8.58 lakh applications were received during the 10,000 and odd meetings that were held. Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts topped the grievances list with 67,000 and 61,000 applications, respectively. They were followed by Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalapally (48,000) and Nalgonda with 42,000 applications. The Minister said that over 60 per cent of the issues that were raised had been resolved, excluding cases related to Sadabainama. Presiding over the review meeting at the Secretariat, Srinivas Reddy said that the Act is being implemented in a phased manner, since its introduction on April 14. In the initial phase, conducted from April 17 to 30, around 12,000 applications were received through 72 revenue meetings across four mandals. In the second phase that commenced on May 5, 46,000 applications were collected in 414 meetings across 28 mandals. Between June 3 and 20, revenue meetings were held in 10,239 villages spanning 561 mandals, resulting in a collection of eight lakh applications. In aggregate, 10,725 revenue sadassulu were conducted across 593 mandals over the course of three phases. He pointed out that a day preceding the revenue meetings, application forms were distributed free of cost to farmers within their respective villages. Special teams were constituted under the supervision of the MROs. Revenue officials proactively approached the people to collect applications and issue receipts for all submissions. He further noted that till date 3.27 lakh applications have been successfully registered online, and officials have been directed to expedite registration of the remaining applications.

Bhu Bharati Act brings overhaul: Telangana sees 10 lakh grievances; 3.27 lakh registered online
HYDERABAD: Revenue minister Ponguleti SrinivasReddy on Saturday said the Congress govt is overhauling the revenue administration, which had deteriorated during the BRS's decade-long rule. He said that the Bhu Bharati Act, aimed at providing lasting solutions to long-pending land disputes in Telangana, is being implemented with seriousness and has already brought a positive shift in the system. At a review meeting with senior officials on the successful completion of revenue meets (sadassulu) across the state, the minister said over 10 lakh land-related applications were received across three phases. Between June 3 and 20, revenue meets were held in 10,239 villages across 561 mandals, during which eight lakh more applications were received. In all, 10,725 sadassulu were conducted in 593 mandals, with 8.58 lakh applications submitted. 'In the first phase, held from April 17 to 30, around 12,000 applications were submitted through 72 sadassulu across four mandals. In the second phase, which began on May 5, over 46,000 applications were collected through 414 meetings in 28 mandals. Over 60% of those issues have been resolved, excluding sadabainama cases,' he said. Sadabainama refers to a land transaction, where land ownership is recorded only on paper. Khammam district received the highest number of applications at 67,000, followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (48,000), and Nalgonda (42,000). The minister said free application forms were distributed a day prior in villages, and special teams were deployed under the supervision of tahsildars. So far, 3.27 lakh applications have been registered online, and officials have been instructed to expedite the remaining cases.

Minister Ponguleti directs collectors to resolve all land issues by Aug 15
Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday directed district Collectors to resolve all legitimate land related applications by August 15, the deadline set for tackling the state's ongoing land issues. The Minister, who met newly appointed Collectors in his chambers at the Secretariat, stated that hundreds of families in every village across Telangana are facing land problems due to errors stemming from the previous government's Dharani portal. He advised the respective district collectors to find solutions to all these issues through the recently enacted Bhu Bharati Act. Mr Reddy emphasised that top priority should be given to resolving applications received during the Bhu Bharati Revenue Committee meetings, aiming to alleviate the hardships and suffering experienced by farmers regarding land matters under the previous administration. He stressed that the next two months would be crucial for the Revenue Department, and all legitimate applications must be resolved by August 15. The Minister highlighted the significant responsibility of collectors in implementing government schemes and ensuring they reach every eligible individual. He suggested that collectors should operate in accordance with the government's guiding principle that it will work in line with the aspirations of the people.

Construction of 71k Indiramma houses completed: Ponguleti
Hyderabad: The Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday informed that the State government has so far completed 71,000 houses. During a review meeting with officials at Secretariat he said that from the set a target of constructing 4.50 lakh Indiramma houses across the state this year (with a cost of Rs 22,500 crore),and so far, sanction letters have been handed over to 2.65 lakh beneficiaries. He said that from 71,000 about three thousand houses have been completed up to the walls and slabs. He said that incomplete double bedroom houses are being allotted to eligible beneficiaries who do not have house plots in the Indiramma survey. He said that it has been decided to take up and complete the construction in the Beneficiary-led Construction (BLC) mode from the current contractor mode. He said that besides providing basic amenities in double bedroom houses, 1.61 lakh incomplete houses were completed at a cost of Rs. 640 crore and allotted to 98 thousand beneficiaries. He said that another 69 thousand houses are incomplete and are in various stages of construction and these will be completed in BLC mode. He instructed the officials to identify the eligible beneficiaries for this and allot them to them and complete this process as soon as possible.

Ponguleti for humanitarian approach towards farmers' problems
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has directed officials to resolve the grievances submitted by farmers during Revenue Sadassus in a time-bound manner. The Revenue Department has been conducting meetings with stakeholders in all mandals except Hyderabad since June 3, with 7,578 villages in 561 mandals covered till date. The department has so far received 4.61 lakh applications in the meetings that will continue till June 20. The Minister wanted the officials to thoroughly examine the grievances and resolve the problems with a humanitarian approach. Mr. Srinivas Reddy reviewed the progress of meetings with senior officials on Sunday, and directed them to ensure government's intention of resolving land issues, pending for decades, came true. The 10-year rule of BRS Government put farmers to severe hardships, and the introduction of the Dharani portal has been a bane for them, he said. The Minister said that he was personally present in the meetings conducted in 50 villages and was moved by the plight of farmers during the BRS tenure. Prompted by their hardships, the present government had enacted the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act, and it was the responsibility of the officials concerned to ensure effective implementation of the legislation at the field level. Mr. Srinivas Reddy said that land survey in five model villages for which records did not exist since Independence was progressing briskly. The survey was launched in five of the 413 villages, for which land records did not exist, on a pilot basis. Accordingly, mapping of 337 acres of 422 acres in Salarnagar of Gandeed mandal of Mahbubnagar district, 269 acres out of 626 acres in Kommanapally village of Bhirpur mandal of Jagtial district, 445 acres (845 acres) of Mulugumada of Errupalem mandal of Khammam district, 232 acres (502 acres) of Nuguru in Venkatapuram mandal of Mulugu district, and 308 acres (593 acres) in Shahidnagar of Vatpalli mandal of Sangareddy district had been completed so far. In all, mapping and survey of 1,591 acres of the 2,988 acres in the five pilot villages had been completed and officials were directed to complete the survey within 10 days.
