Alix Earle Says Departure from Alex Cooper's Unwell Network Was a 'Hot Mess' Behind the Scenes
Alix Earle opened up about her Hot Mess podcast's pause during an interview with the Wall Street Journal published on Thursday, May 22
The social media star described the behind-the-scenes as a "hot mess," a nod to the title of the podcast formerly backed by Alex Cooper's Unwell Network
Earle's comments come approximately two months after she announced Hot Mess' hiatus for the "foreseeable future" on March 26What's the saying ... Art imitates life?
Alix Earle described her now-defunct Hot Mess podcast as just that — a "hot mess" — when attempting to explain to the Wall Street Journal about the production politics that led to the show's hiatus for the foreseeable future.
Hot Mess was backed by Alex Cooper's Unwell Network, the media startup that signed Earle, 24, as one of its first stars in 2023. Episodes were released for over a year, but then the relationship between her and the media company began to unravel, leading to the podcast's pause on March 26.
At the time, fans speculated a fallout between the two women, however, Cooper, 30, put the rumors to rest to clarify that the Unwell Network is not the reason behind Earle's decision to halt Hot Mess.
"Alix not being able to podcast has nothing to do Unwell," Cooper wrote on TikTok at the time. "[I don't know] why she can't/what's going on."

Cooper — who did not comment for WSJ's feature — previously clarified that "Unwell gave [Alix] everything back" and that Earle "owns her IP," noting she "learned from the best" before tagging Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
That being said, Earle admitted to the WSJ that it has been a process to get everything back in her hands.
"That was, behind the scenes, a little bit of a hot mess," Earle said in her digital cover story.

Elsewhere in the interview, Earle offered her fans a glimmer of hope about her podcast's return, noting that they have "plans to bring things back" in an elevated way. "It might look a little different, but I'm excited to see what we do with it," she added.
In the meantime, Earle has been uploading vlog-style videos to her YouTube channel. She gives her viewers an in-depth look at her life alongside her siblings, parents, friends and NFL boyfriend, Braxton Berrios. She also recently appeared on another SI Swim issue this year, which she celebrated at the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit launch party red carpet on May 15, at The Hard Rock Hotel in New York City.

Later this year, Earle is set to be a contestant on the upcoming season 34 of Dancing with the Stars. She officially announced the news on Good Morning America on Thursday morning, becoming the second celebrity casting revealed after Robert Irwin.
The social media star attended DWTS last November when the show taped its milestone 500th episode. In a GRWM video posted prior, she told her 7.5 million TikTok followers that she was "so excited" to be in the audience because she is "such a fan of the show."

On June 14, proud mom and grandma Terri Irwin shared the sweetest video of Robert and Grace Warrior. She shared the rare video on her Instagram with the caption reading, 'Dance party! 🪩' More from SheKnows Bindi Irwin's Father's Day Tribute to Chandler Powell Shows How Grace Is His Mini-Me In the video, we see Robert teaching his niece some dance moves, like moving her arms to make a hat and pretending to be a cat! For Season 34, which will air in the fall, Robert became the first celebrity to be confirmed. 'I'm just going to get real for a second, I'm so nervous. I'm really nervous,' he revealed to UsMagazine, noting how he's looking to his sister Bindi for advice. 'You have no idea how grateful I am to have Bindi, who went through this experience. 'Not only did she do Dancing With the Stars, I mean, she won Dancing With the Stars and just was such an incredible shining light. I remember watching [her] on that show just thinking, 'This is the coolest thing ever.'' (Bindi won season 21 in 2015 with pro partner Derek Hough.) And we seriously can't wait to see Robert on the dance floor as well! For those who don't know, Bindi and her husband, Chandler Powell, welcomed their daughter Grace Warrior, on March 25, 2021, which was exactly one year after their intimate wedding ceremony at the Australia Zoo. If you don't know her, she's a model and influencer with over 30 million combined followers across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. She's known for her funny skits and vlogs and collaborating with famous people like Ed Sheeran, Courteney Cox, and the Jonas Brothers. For the awards, which happened last night at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Haley wore an outfit that had Nick kids everywhere screaming with nostalgia. It featured a beige off-shoulder dress with a short train and a long bright green headpiece with shimmering beads and gemstones of varying sizes and colors. It cascaded down Haley's neck and dress, creating the illusion of slime pouring down her body. Haley paired it with an assortment of diamond rings and a layered bracelet to match, along with a set of orange and green slime-themed nails. Here's a closer look: "It's cute!" one fan gushed on Reddit. "Very appropriate for the event." Another agreed, "Kids events should be fun, I like it! A third fan said, "No idea who she is but 10/10 on concept and execution, and she still looks gorge 👏👏👏." While another commented, "She is Looking Camp Right in the Eye 👁️ and I like it." The Most Terrifying Creepypasta Stories Revisited in Nostalgic Video Breakdown — GeekTyrant
If you were an internet kid in the early 2010s, chances are you had a phase where creepypasta stories kept you up at night, and Trust Me Bro dropped a video that captures that era perfectly. In his animated retrospective, he revisits seven of the most haunting creepypastas from his childhood, weaving them together with personal memories of sleepovers, dimly lit computer screens, and that specific kind of fear only the internet could provide. 'In this video, I reflect on creepypastas that terrified us as kids. I also dive deep into 7 original creepy pastas that were scary, terrifying, and dark to say the least. In each segment I summarize the creepypasta, reflect on how well it was written, and discuss its cultural significance.' Each entry is more than just a surface-level retelling, it's a meditation on how these eerie tales shaped a generation's relationship with horror. Of course, no list would be complete without Slender Man topping the charts. 'This is probably the only creeppasta on the list that your mom has a good chance of recognizing due to the mass amount of Halloween costumes and just popular media and if you haven't guessed it yet, I'm of course talking about the Slenderman.' The video's strength lies in its mix of nostalgia, critique, and genuine admiration for the genre. Whether you're revisiting these digital campfire tales or discovering them for the first time, it's a fascinating watch that captures the strange, spooky power of internet storytelling.
