Woman passes out while being strangled in Queens park: NYPD
QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police are searching for a man after a woman was strangled until she was unconscious in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on June 6, according to the NYPD.
It happened around 8:50 a.m. near 48th Avenue and 111th Street. The woman was approached by the suspect, who spoke in a way she couldn't understand, according to authorities.

Police said the man allegedly threw a plastic water bottle at the victim before placing his arm around her neck. The woman then passed out, according to authorities.
Police said the suspect, who was wearing a brown shirt and brown shorts, fled the park. The woman was taken to a local hospital, according to authorities.

Detroit rapper Skilla Baby shares message after Wayne County shooting
Detroit rapper Skilla Baby says he's thankful for the support he's received after being injured during a shooting in Redford Township, Michigan, in May. In a social media post on Instagram Wednesday, the rapper said, "I'm good mentally" and thanked everyone for their prayers. "Again, thank you to my fans, family and everybody else for all the support. I'm nothing without y'all!" He said. Police in Redford Township said Skilla Baby, whose real name is Trevon Gardner, was shot while driving an SUV in the area of Eight Mile Road and Beech Daly Road during the night of May 22. Gardner was shot three times before crashing the vehicle, officials said. Over 20 rounds were fired in the shooting. One person has been arrested in connection with the incident. Redford Township police said they were able to identify a suspect vehicle with help from the Detroit Police Department, Western Wayne Special Operations Team and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The registered owner of the vehicle, a Detroit resident, was taken into custody on June 4. Law enforcement recovered a firearm while executing a search warrant at the home of the person arrested. One dead and four teenagers injured after a quintuple shooting in Milwaukee
Milwaukee police are investigating a quintuple shooting involving teenagers that left one dead and four wounded on Friday, June 20. The incident took place at about 10:50 p.m. on the 8300 block of West Brown Deer Road. The 19-year-old victim sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other four victims, two 16-year-olds, one 15-year-old and one 14-year-old, all sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds. They were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Their condition was unknown as of June 21. Milwaukee police said the investigation is ongoing, and they continue to seek unknown suspects. That is a 6% decrease from 2024, which had 268 total non-fatal shootings by this time last year.
