Caitlin Clark's Favorite Animal is Turning Heads
Caitlin Clark's Favorite Animal is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
WNBA star Caitlin Clark remains out for the Indiana Fever due to her left quad strain. She's set to be re-evaluated this weekend, though that means she won't be available to play on Saturday against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.

Clark was averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks per game for the Fever prior to her injury. Naturally, her absence has been a big blow to Indiana, which has won just one of the three games it has played without her.
Despite her absence, though, Clark continues to make headlines as she stays involved with the Fever — attending practices, joining her teammates on the sidelines and being active on social media.
On Friday, Clark had fans buzzing after the Fever posted a "Get To Know" post about her, which revealed her favorite actor, movie, condiment and even emoji, as well as a skill she would like to learn.
One response that stood out, however, was her favorite animal. The WNBA All-Star answered "Cheetah," which quickly caught the attention of many.

It's worth noting that Clark has said in the past that she doesn't like cats. So, for her to choose not only a large cat but also the fastest land animal came as a surprise.
"Scared of cats but likes cheetahs," a commenter wrote. Another one said, Afraid of cats, but loves cheetahs. Fascinating."
"So who is gonna tell her that Cheetah is a cat," a fan added.
For what it's worth, others connected her love for cheetahs to her love for running and sprinting.
"Of course it's a cheetah. 'I love sprinting,'" a follower remarked.
A fifth supporter shared, "Cheetah: 'I just love to sprint. I sprint everywhere.'"

"Cheetahs are the best. Hawks are a close second. Some Hawks can reach 240 mph when they dive," a social media user stated.

It's still unknown when Clark will actually return from her injury, but at least fans are getting to know her better while she's sidelined.

Insane Caitlin Clark 3-Point Shooting Statistic is Turning Heads
Insane Caitlin Clark 3-Point Shooting Statistic is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Every time Caitlin Clark graces a basketball court, the record books are in danger. Clark, 23, continues to face her responsibilities as the unofficial face of the WNBA head on. Advertisement While Clark's sophomore season hasn't gone exactly as planned, missing five games due to a left quadriceps strain, she's still giving fans everywhere what they're looking for. Clark made her triumphant return from injury, against the New York Liberty on Saturday (the team she was injured against). And Clark put on an absolute show, draining seven, long-distance 3-pointers. Clark's average distance for made 3-pointers on Saturday was 28.7 feet. She made three 3-pointers from at least 30 feet. While those numbers are impressive, it's Clark's shooting percentage when launching 3-pointers from beyond 30 feet this season that's astonishing. Advertisement Per @PolymarketHoops on X, Clark, during the 2025 WNBA season, is shooting 45.5% from beyond 30 feet. Clark has gone 5-for-11 this season when shooting 3-pointers from at least 30 feet. This is higher than her 3-point % (36.7) and higher than her overall field goal percentage (43.9%). WNBA fans took to social media to react to this spectacular statistic. One commenter said, "Makes me think of that interview she did when she was in college where she said it's easier for her when she's further away from the hoop." Another user on X posted, "She is in a league of her own." Others took this as an opportunity to take a shot at Angel Reese. Advertisement "Shooting better from the 3 than Angel is to shooting layups tears," a fan posted. "How does she shoot better from that far away than angel shoots on lay ups," another user on X posted. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin ClarkGrace Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Clark has been known to fire shots from virtually anywhere, she knowingly enjoys shooting from the logo, but now the world can put a percentage to the magic. More importantly, Clark and her Indiana Fever, handed the Liberty their first loss on the season (102-88). The Fever have dealt with a handful of injuries so far this season and went 2-3 during Clark's absence. They hold a 5-5 record on the season. The next opportunity for Clark to show off her long-distance shooting prowess will come on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. EDT at home against the Connecticut Sun. Caitlin Clark Has Forgettable Night as Indiana Fever Fall to Valkyries
Caitlin Clark Has Forgettable Night as Indiana Fever Fall to Valkyries originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When Caitlin Clark's name graces the headlines, it's generally because she's just done something the world has never seen before, or she's just broken another record. In her second season in the WNBA, at just 23 years of age, Clark continues to climb leaderboards and record books with her stellar play. Advertisement Thursday night, however, was the rare occasion when Clark had a forgettable night. Thursday night's game between the Indiana Fever and Golden State Valkyries was Game No. 47 of Clark's WNBA career. Clark is already No. 2 all-time for 3-pointers made in a season (122 in 2024). She also led the league in 3-pointers made per game in 2024 (3.0). Clark continues to set a new standard for 3-point shooting in the WNBA, but even the greatest shooters of all-time have off nights. Thursday night's 88-77 loss to the Valkyries was just the second game in Clark's WNBA career when she failed to make a 3-pointer. Clark finished 0-for-7 from 3-point range against the Valkyries. She scored just 11 points on 3-for-14 shooting from the field. Advertisement The only other game in her WNBA career when she failed to make a 3-pointer came during the 2025 WNBA season as well. On May 22, Clark went 0-for-5 from 3-point range against the Atlanta Dream. The Fever, however, would win that game 81-76. Mandatory Credit: Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images Despite her struggles on Thursday night, Clark packed yet another arena on the road. The reported attendance inside Chase Center was 18,064, and Clark's pregame routine and interactions caused quite a stir for Fever and Valkyries fans alike. Clark will look to start a new streak of games with a made 3-pointer in the Fever's next game. They'll take on the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN. Panthers Receive Unfortunate Update on Sam Bennett Future
Panthers Receive Unfortunate Update on Sam Bennett Future originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Florida Panthers are fully focused on winning the 2025 Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers. Florida is currently tied 1-1 with Edmonton in the series, as Games 3 and 4 get set to begin. Advertisement But behind the scenes, the front office of the Panthers is preparing for a massive offseason. Florida has some key free agents about to hit the market, and it could impact how the roster looks next season. One of those players is star center Sam Bennett, who has been putting together a special run in the postseason this year. Bennett has scored 13 goals and put in six assists over 19 playoff games for Florida this season. Most around the NHL believe Bennett will stay in Florida, but anytime a player hits free agency, things can get complicated. NHL insiders Pierre LeBrun and Chris Johnston of The Athletic hint that there is a chance Bennett departs from the Panthers this summer. "While Bennett is believed to have strong interest in signing a new deal with the Panthers, the unprecedented nature of his situation could lead to a difficult business decision in the next few weeks. The 28-year-old is fresh off his first career 50-point regular season but has shown tremendous value in the playoffs that will see him paid well beyond your typical 50-point producer.", the NHL insiders wrote.
