Eamonn Holmes issues worrying warning after suffering from night terrors

Daily Record5 hours ago

Eamonn made the admission on Monday morning's programme.
Eamonn Holmes publicly shared his battle with nightmares. The 65-year-old presenter opened up about his own struggles with sleepless nights amidst discussions on how frequent bad dreams could significantly increase the risk of premature death and speed up aging.
The GB News host, who has been suffering chronic pain and various other health issues, has recently raised alarm bells among his followers with remarks suggesting he feels he's living on "borrowed time", writes The Mirror.

During Monday morning's Breakfast with Eamonn and Ellie, he turned to colleagues and said: "Did you have any nightmares last night? Seriously? Well, you're for an early death then."

He looked into the concerning research about nightmare sufferers and then went on to admit: "I have nightmares quite frequently."
His co-host Ellie Costello replied: "I never do, I want to live forever," to which Eamonn said: "Do you know what I dream about quite a lot? Vampires. I do!"
Reflecting on his childhood fears, he said: "I think when I was young and I saw Christopher Lee being Dracula, that really left an impression. I thought he was the scariest thing."
Eamonn then said that in these nightmares, vampires are "coming after" him.
"They're all Christopher Lee-esque," he concluded.

He also revealed that he still has nightmares about his school days, recounting: "I dream about Mr Cassidy who taught me Ancient Greek and asking me the vocabulary in Ancient Greek and knowing I wasn't ready for it and can't do it - it's all very true."
This disclosure follows Eamonn's concerning health update to his followers, as he has been seen using a wheelchair and crutches in public recently.

The star, who split with his wife, Loose Women's Ruth Langsford last year amid rumours of their separation due to work commitments, experienced a fall at home which left him fearing he was "dead".
Eamonn described the incident as having the "sorest and most powerful" impact on his head, resulting in hospitalisation after the mishap at his residence.
"I was very worried about me. [I] fell on the bathroom floor and once I was down, I couldn't get up," he recounted.

He explained how his "feet went up in the air" because the floor was "hard, cold, wet and slippery".
"It was the worst bang to my head and shoulder," he added. "I went down and I said, 'I'm dead.' I have never had a bang to the head as sore and as powerful as that before.

"I lay there and I thought, 'Where's the blood?' There was nothing, no blood, no split, nothing like that."
Eamonn has been battling chronic pain and mobility issues since slipping three discs in his back in 2021. Despite undergoing spinal surgery the next year, he has faced significant health challenges lately, expressing the sombre sentiment that he is on "borrowed time" and admitting he is "not OK".

Eamonn Holmes puts on a loved up display with girlfriend Katie Alexander as they attend Ascot - weeks after he removed wedding ring amid Ruth Langsford split

Eamonn Holmes put on a loved up display with girlfriend Katie Alexander as they attended Ascot last week. The GB news host, 65, dressed up to the nines in a classic grey morning suit and a top hat as he leaned in for a kiss with his love, 43, in snaps shared to Katie's Instagram. Though he usually uses a mobility scooter amid his ongoing back problems, Eamonn could be seen standing tall in one of the snaps, before returning to his scooter in another video. Meanwhile, Katie pulled out all the stops as she slipped into a white ruffled gown with black polka dots for the occasion. The relationship counsellor accessorised her stylish look with a black fascinator and a black and white handbag, while booting her height with white sling back heels. Finishing off her look with pearl earrings and oversized sunglasses, Katie appeared in great spirits as she documented her day at the annual horse-racing event. Captioning her post, she penned: 'A Beautiful day with beautiful people at @ascotracecourse yesterday. Fantastic weather ☀️, albeit too hot which meant I had to drink more champagne! to stay hydrated!' The couple's happy outing comes after Eamonn removed his wedding ring, over a year since his spilt from Ruth Langsford. The TV couple shocked fans with their joint statement on May 25 2024 confirming the end of their 14 year marriage. And while Eamonn has embarked on a new relationship with new girlfriend Katie, he had continued to wear his gold band on his wedding finger. However, as he hosted a recent edition of GB News alongside co-star Ellie Costello, his ring was noticeably absent from his hand. While the presenter publicly ditched his jewellery for the on-air appearance, MailOnline understands that Eamonn does occasionally remove his ring. The star was also recently seen ring-less while attending the launch party of groundbreaking new luxury raffle company Anchord UK. It comes weeks after Ruth finally ditched her wedding ring almost a year after announcing their split. But since then, Ruth has resolutely kept her wedding and engagement rings on, even once declaring to a fan that she wouldn't remove them 'because I am still married.' On a recent episode of her ITV show Loose Women though, Ruth revealed the rings were off. Meanwhile, Eamonn's girlfriend Katie Alexander recently addressed a diamond ring on her wedding finger in new post shortly after going 'Instagram official' with their romance. The presenter and marriage guidance counsellor Katie have been dating since mid-2024, with engagement rumours swirling since December. And taking to her Instagram Stories, Katie posted a glowing selfie in a striped shirt, adding a playful thought bubble that read: 'Time for a coffee in between clients?' In the snap, a dazzling diamond ring was clearly visible - prompting questions from fans. But before any rumours could gather steam, Katie quickly shut them down.

This Morning and Loose Women set for budget new home in 'cost-cutting mission'

ITV are reportedly moving This Morning, Loose Women and Lorraine to a new filming location after years at the Television Centre amid a string of cost-cutting measures ITV programmes This Morning, Loose Women and Lorraine will reportedly have a new home after filming at the Television Centre in Shepherds Bush in west London for the last seven years. The cost-cutting move comes a few weeks after staff at the broadcaster were hit with news that there would be redundancies amid huge changes for ITV. It has been a tough time for ITV's Daytime hosts and crew - after it was revealed there would be huge changes both behind the scenes and on the shows. ‌ Lorraine Kelly's self-titled programme will be cut by in half next year, to just half an hour a day and will only air 30 weeks of the year. Loose Women will keep its hour show - but again, it will be cut to just 30 out of 52 weeks a year. ‌ Good Morning Britain will benefit from the change, extending 30 mins to 9.30am each day - and will be produced by a different team than the other shows - Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women. And now, it has been reported that Loose Women, This Morning and Lorraine will be moved to The Hospital Club in Covent Garden, central London. A source told The Sun: "ITV are on a major budget saving mission and have landed a new deal to film ITV Daytime at what was The Hospital Club. "It's quite apt really as I'm sure they hope the move to the former hospital will breathe some life into their programme budgets. All three of their main shows, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be based there... in the basement where there's a state of the art studio." The insider said the changes are "needed to keep up with the ever evolving world of TV but it's a far cry from the plush life stars have become" used to at the Television Centre. ‌ Speaking to The Mirror, a source said: "We have always said that when the changes to our daytime schedule take place in 2026 that Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will broadcast from a new central London location. The new studio is not yet confirmed and when it is we will obviously communicate that news to our staff first." Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV's Media and Entertainment Division, announced the initial changes last month, where he had said the changes were necessary to "generate savings". ‌ He said about the scheduling changes: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres. "These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever." Sources have told The Mirror:"It's not a case of viewers seeing less of their shows… it's impossible to see how the high standards will remain the same. Some staff believe Loose Women and Lorraine in particular will enter a death spiral… it's just so sad. Just a handful of people will be working on each of those two programmes which has huge ramifications for how they are going forward. "If that's the case, will Loose Women really still have a live audience…will there be the capacity for that? Everyone doubts it, not least because of the manpower needed to oversee it. Also, there is a huge amount of background work which goes into securing guests… in the new climate how does that continue with barely any staff?"

Coronation Street star addresses health battle that left her feeling faint

Former Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has spoken out about her Type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Sue, 61, bowed out of her Eileen Grimshaw role after 25 years earlier this month. The much-loved character left Weatherfield for a new life in Thailand after confessing that she had fallen out of love with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley). Having been given the chance to invest in son Jason Grimshaw's (Ryan Thomas) bar, she decided to make her trip to Southeast Asia permanent. Sue announced her exit at the beginning of the year, explaining that she wanted to explore new avenues. Now, ahead of taking on a new theatre role, she has discussed her health and how she felt faint while filming scenes on the ITV soap two decades ago. 'I think there is a lot of misunderstanding around diabetes, people tell you can't eat chocolate or sugar – but where I struggle with my diabetes is when I'm about to go on stage or when I'm about to go on Loose Women or live shows' she said. 'Before I go on I'd have to prick my finger and check if my sugar is stable enough to get me to the interval or do I need to eat.' Continuing to The Sun, Sue added: 'If I'm about to go on stage or live shows and I don't know if I'm going to make it if my sugars aren't stable enough, and I don't have time to prick my finger, you tend to think: 'Let me eat this thing now', and then you tend to feel the effects of it later or the middle of the show. 'But with Dexcom (a glucose monitor), I just have to look at my phone and see my sugar levels, it takes all of the worry out of it.' More Trending The star also spoke about her exit story, and how she wanted it to mirror her real life decision. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers?
