I drove Ford's Mustang Mach-E Rally. It looks like a life-sized Hot Wheels toy but is actually a fantastically fast electric SUV.

Ford used the high-performance Mach-E GT as the starting point for the Rally. The Rally trim gains black racing lines down the middle of the hood and a pair of fog lamps integrated into the front grille.
The black racing stripes continue to the small rear decklid. The most prominent feature exclusive to the Rally is the large spoiler mounted to the top of the liftgate was inspired by the Focus RS, Ford's previous road-going rally car that went out of production in 2018.
My test car came with the a keyless entry system. The SecuriCode keypad, located on the front door pillars, allows keyless entry via a programmable five-digit code.
In regular operation, the Rally drives like a docile EV crossover, with its traction management systems stepping in to keep the experience on the straight and narrow.With the RallySport drive mode turned on, the Mustang EV comes alive. The mode, designed to maximize performance on high-speed, multi-terrain race courses, quickens throttle response, dials back the traction control as much as possible, and turns up the intensity of the faux engine noise piped through its speakers.Although I didn't get the chance to take the Mach-E Rally off-road, it really dazzled on the winding roads in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Handling was quick and precise, and the specially tuned adjustable magnetorheological damper helped optimize traction while keeping the EV under control even as road conditions changed.According to Ford, the 5,000-lb Mustang Mach-E Rally can do 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, which is not far off the 3.25-second time of the 641 horsepower Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
The Mach-E's cabin feels smart and modern. Buttons and switches are generally well placed, and there are plenty of storage and charging options. My only complaint is with the large volume dial at the bottom of the infotainment screen, which doubles as the fan speed control for the AC system. This makes it impossible to use the dial without taking your eyes off the road.
The Mach-E's cabin centers on its massive 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen. I found the Mustang Mach-E's infotainment system to be very responsive and easy to navigate. I especially like the shortcuts that allow you to quickly revisit the screen you most recently used.
The rear cabin proved to be remarkably comfortable as well. The comfy three-passenger faux leather and suede bench seat offers a competitive 38 inches of legroom, which is an inch or two short of the Ioniq 5 and Model Y.
The rear cargo compartment is supplemented by a 4.7 cubic foot frunk under the hood. The frunk, which has a drainage hole at the bottom of its plastic liner, can be filled with ice and used as a cooler when tailgating, Ford says.
My verdict: The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally drives like a racer, but is comfortable and practical like a family SUV. Ford has a long and esteemed history of building legendary road-going rally cars, from the mid-engined RS200 to the highly sought-after Escort RS Cosworth.To me, the Mustang Mach-E Rally is the latest in that lineage of greatness, but with a twist.Unlike those that have come before it, the Mach-E Rally isn't a specialist vehicle limited to weekend drives. It's got all the tech, niceties, and utility to handle everyday life outside the rally course.

Ford is warning 2025 Super Duty owners not to drive their pickups. They might have a brake pedal assembly that lacks a retaining spring that's designed to secure the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal, which can result in the loss of braking power. The recall affects just 2,345 2025 Ford Super Duty trucks, ranging from the F-250 to the F-550. The automaker began investigating the problem in late May after team members at the Kentucky Truck Plant notified Ford's Critical Concern Review Group (CCRG) of a missing brake pedal retaining spring on a 2025 F-350. Ford then received a warranty report in early June of another F-350 with a missing spring that a tech found during its inspection. The CCRG, through its investigation, learned that an operator new to the job and still in training had built both trucks with the missing retaining spring. It also found that the camera system designed to monitor production was down during certain periods, so Ford is also recalling those vehicles without sufficient visual evidence that they were correctly built. Ford says it has already begun notifying affected owners. The automaker says it'll instruct them to work with their dealer to complete the inspection, as the automaker does not want owners driving their vehicles. Ford Recalls Nearly 200,000 Mustang Mach-E SUVs Because of Lock Malfunction

Ford is recalling 197,432 Mustang Mach-E SUVs from 2021 through 2025 model years over an issue that could trap children in the vehicle. The door locks may not open from the exterior when battery power is low, potentially leaving back-seat occupants who can't use the inside door release—particularly children—unable to get out of the vehicle. According to recall documents , the powertrain control module will need to be replaced on the affected vehicles. Ford has issued a recall of nearly 200,000 Mustang Mach-E SUVs from 2021–2025 model years to fix a problem that could unexpectedly lock rear passengers in the vehicle. The problem stems from a software glitch that appears when the car battery is low. The driver and front passenger may become locked out after leaving the vehicle and without the ability to open the doors from the outside. The issue is particularly concerning when rear-seat passengers are children who are unable to open the door latches from the inside. An indication that can warn owners is that, with the key off, the Sync infotainment screen displays a "system to save power" warning or a blank screen. Another indication is that when exiting the vehicle through a front door, the customer could notice that the inside release handle needs to be pulled farther than normal to unlatch the door. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the issue, although several owners have reported that they have been locked out of their vehicles because of it. Ford states, in documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), that 100 percent of the vehicles have this defect. The affected models entered production in February 2020 through June 2025. According to NHTSA, Ford plans to reach out to affected owners by mail starting June 23. In the meantime, Mustang Mach-E owners can get information on the NHTSA recalls website.

This year marks Ford's third consecutive year of fielding an electric vehicle at Pikes Peak. The Super Mustang Mach-E produces 3 129kg of downforce at 241km/h. Romain Dumas takes part in his tenth Pikes Peak and third with Ford Performance. What do you get if you take a Mustang Mach-E, tune it up with three STARD UHP 6-Phase motors producing over 1 400 horsepower ( 1 043kW) and put veteran racer Romain Dumas behind the wheel? The answer: possibly the fastest car to ever go up Pikes Peak. The Super Mustang Mach-E demonstrator has been purpose-built to tackle the gruelling 19.98km Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on 22 June. Ford cemented its reputation on 'America's Mountain' with a legacy dating back to 1916 when a Model T first conquered the climb. Since then, constant innovation has driven Ford's presence at Pikes Peak. This year marks Ford's third consecutive year of fielding an electric demonstrator, following the 2023 record-setting SuperVan 4.2 and the 2024 F-150 Lightning SuperTruck claiming the overall win last year. The lighter, leaner Super Mustang Mach-E could hold an advantage over its contemporaries where nimbleness counts as much as overall power. 'We're continuing to push the boundaries of what's possible with electric vehicles,' said Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance. 'This Super Mustang Mach-E demonstrator represents the next stage in our electrification journey - lighter, leaner, just as powerful, and more capable in high-altitude competition. Racing is our test bed; every data point we gather on the mountain helps us build better electric vehicles for our customers - maximizing power delivery, improving regen strategies, or managing heat in extreme elevation changes. What we learn here goes straight into future production.' The Mustang's mechanical make-up comprises three STARD UHP 6-Phase motors producing over 1 043kW, all fed by 50kWh of ultra-high-performance Li-polymer NMC pouch cells. It runs a voltage of 799V, but this year's setup sheds critical weight - over 117kg - while delivering regenerative braking of 710kW. Handling all 156 turns - up to the 4 302m summit – are a carbon braking system, forged magnesium wheels, and Pirelli P-Zero tyres. And with those infamous steep cliffs eager to punish the slightest mistake, the 3 129kg of downforce at 241km/h will help Dumas safely snake his way up the hill. Competing in his third outing with Ford, and tenth Pikes Peak overall, will be current record holder Romain Dumas. 'After last year's incredible run with the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck and SuperVan 4.2 before it, I'm honoured to be back with Ford to take on this challenge once again,' said Dumas.
