Commanders Tipped To Be 'Most Improved' In 2025 Thanks To 2 Additions
Commanders Tipped To Be 'Most Improved' In 2025 Thanks To 2 Additions originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Washington Commanders are no longer the punchline to jokes; instead, the NFC East franchise has been thrust into relevance thanks to Dan Quinn, Adam Peters, and Jayden Daniels.

With Washington's new era getting off to an almighty bang last offseason, that carried over to the regular season as Daniels led the team to a 12-5 record, two playoff wins, and an NFC Championship appearance, more is expected.
The Commanders doubled down, trading for Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil this offseason to push all their 2025 chips into the middle of the table.
And due to those two moves, NFL.com has named Washington as one of a host of teams will improve in 2025.
"The Commanders entered the offseason with a clear goal: capitalize on their newfound success, and do so fearlessly," NFL.com writes. "Trades for Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil gave them two proven veterans to bolster an offense headlined by 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels . But if everything works out, the Commanders should be better than they were a year ago, when they sprinted all the way to the NFC Championship Game."

Samuel and Tunsil come with stellar resumes, and the Commanders are banking on both being at their Pro Bowl best in 2025. Anything less, and Washington might have some troubles.

Still, there is enough talent for this team to be playoff-bound, and we are yet to talk about the continued ascension of Daniels as a quarterback, either. If he takes another leap forward, then it might not be the NFC title game that is the benchmark; it might be the Super Bowl.
Everything feels in place for the Commanders to return as an NFC power in 2025, but as we know, rarely do things run smoothly in the NFL.
Yes, there will be pitfalls that Washington has to navigate, but this team, thanks to the additions of Samuel and Tunsil, seems adequately adept to deal with them.

Cowboys' Top 5 All-Time Free Agents
Cowboys' Top 5 All-Time Free Agents originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Two ways to look at Dallas Cowboys' free agency this offseason: 1. The bad: While two-time Pro Bowl performer Jaire Alexander signed with the Baltimore Ravens, the Cowboys settled for the Green Bay Packers' "other" cornerback — Robert Rochell — who has bounced around five teams in four seasons. Advertisement 2. The good: Their class is an improvement over 2024, which was highlighted by underwhelming linebacker Eddie Kendricks. Relatively speaking, Jerry and Stephen Jones were proactive and aggressive in this year's free agency. The Cowboys signed much-needed help at pass rusher with Dante Fowler Jr. and running back with Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams. Those moves, of course, supplemented trades for No. 2 receiver George Pickens and backup quarterback Joe Milton. We're not suggesting a class also aided by defensive tackle Solomon Thomas and receiver Parris Campbell will be Dallas' best ever, but it's a step in the right direction of positive player acquisition. Unless we're missing something, however, none of the signees will crack the list of the Cowboys' Top 5 all-time free-agent signings: Advertisement 5. Leonard Davis, 2007 – Right guard started all 16 games, made the Pro Bowl, second-team All-Pro and helped a record-setting offense lead Dallas to a 13-3 record before making two more Pro Bowls. 4. Terrell Owens, 2006 – Despite an icy relationship with Bill Parcells, his production on the field was undeniable to the tune of three 1,000-yard receiving seasons and double-digit touchdowns. 3. Jay Novacek, 1990 – A converted H-back from the Arizona Cardinals, the "Plan B free agent'' made five Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls as Troy Aikman's security blanket. 2. Nate Newton, 1986 – Signed after his time as a Tampa Bay Bandit when the USFL folded, he battled his weight and finally arrived to help anchor one of the best offensive lines in NFL history while making six Pro Bowls, winning three Super Bowl rings and annually paving the way for all-time leading rusher Emmitt Smith. Advertisement 1. Deion Sanders, 1995 – If you can't beat 'em, steal 'em. After losing to him and the San Francisco 49ers in the '94 NFC Championship Game, the Cowboys signed him and won the ensuing Super Bowl as he blanketed receivers, returned punts and even caught passes on offense. In five years in Dallas he lived up to the hype, making four Pro Bowls, recording 14 interceptions and scoring eight touchdowns on his way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Pasadena cancels events at park after possible immigration enforcement activity spotted
The city of Pasadena canceled regular programming at local parks on Saturday after apparent immigration enforcement activity was spotted. The announcement came from the city's official page on X, where it said that swim lessons and other programs were being canceled on Saturday at three local parks out of an "abundance of caution." Those parks are Villa Parke, Robinson Park and Victory Park. The city said apparent federal enforcement was spotted in the area, and it would like to avoid "potential escalation of conflict." Saturday's cancellations come as a FIFA Club World Cup match between Argentinian club River Plate and Mexican club CF Monterrey are set to square off at Pasadena's Rose Bowl at 6 p.m. Saturday. Fans have claimed that fears over immigration enforcement have caused lower-than-expected attendance numbers at the tournament taking place throughout the U.S.

New York Giants have lowest overall team rating in Madden 26 beta
The New York Giants aren't very highly regarded around the NFL these days. Nine double-digit loss seasons in the past 11 years will tend to do that. At some point, reality spills over into fantasy, and there's no better venue to gauge that than in the popular video game, Madden. In this year's version (beta) -- Madden '26 -- the Giants are the lowest-rated of the NFL's current 32 teams. Giant fans should not be surprised based on their team's performance over the past decade. They've qualified for the postseason just twice over that span but have not been considered contenders since winning Super Bowl XLVI in February of 2012. Madden ratings go from 0 to 99. The Giants have just one player with a rating over 90: Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence (93).
