Sitaare Zameen Par BOC Day 1: Aamir Khan's movie witnesses slow start, earns only Rs...

After a lot of anticipation, Aamir Khan's film Sitaare Zameen Par has finally hit the box office on June 20. Featuring Aamir Khan and neurodivergent children as the leads of the film, Sitaare Zameen Par has received rave reviews. Netizens say that the movie is a joyful ride of emotions and will give you the feeling of a warm hug. After receiving positive reviews from both critics and audiences, the film has made a promising start at the box office. Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 1 As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par has an estimated collection of around Rs. 8.77 crore India net on its first day in all languages. Sitaare Zameen Par, which is being called the spiritual sequel of Aamir Khan's 2007 hit film Taare Zameen Par, witnessed a theatre occupancy of 17.73% in Hindi in the morning of the release day. On the other hand, the Aamir Khan starrer had its highest occupancy in the Jaipur region at 29.33%. While the opening of the film was expected to earn more, it fell short and did not even cross the numbers of Aamir's last release Laal Singh Chaddha. The 2022 release had earned Rs. 11.7 crore on its opening day. In comparison, the Salman Khan-starrer Sikandar opened with a significantly higher figure of Rs. 26 crore. Helmed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par features 10 real-life inspirations including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The movie also stars Genelia D'Souza. Sitaare Zameen Par Review review of Sitaare Zameen Par states, 'Overall, Sitaare Zameen Par is a true example of how one should deal with sensitive topics such as Down syndrome. While some try to make a mockery of such subjects, this film does not just keep its focus on the characters but also gives a life lesson. This film is a typical Aamir Khan-style film that perfectly balances humour and emotions and does not feel like a forced sequel at all; instead, it raises the bar high for its remarkable legacy.'

Kuberaa Box Office Day 1: Dhanush's Film Opens Lower Than Raayan, Earns Rs 13 Crore

Last Updated: Kuberaa Box Office Day 1: Kuberaa collected Rs 12.98 cr on day 1, falling short of Dhanush's previous theatrical release Raayan, which had an opening day collection of Rs 15.7 cr. Kuberaa Box Office Collection Day 1: Dhanush-starrer Kuberaa hit theatres on Friday and marked one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Directed by Sekhar Kammula and co-starring Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna, the film opened to largely positive reviews. Despite that, the film's box office opening has been modest compared to expectations. As per early estimates by Kuberaa collected Rs 12.98 crore on day one, falling short of Dhanush's previous theatrical release Raayan, which had an opening day collection of Rs 15.7 crore. The Telugu version of Kuberaa recorded an overall occupancy of 50.19% on Friday, with morning shows at 38.94%, afternoon shows at 54.58%, and evening shows peaking at 57.04%. Despite the slightly underwhelming opening, the film is expected to gain momentum over the weekend owing to strong word of mouth. In the Hindi belt, however, it faces competition from Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par. Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations, Kuberaa showcases Dhanush in the role of a beggar, a performance that has earned him critical praise for its depth and transformation. On Friday, Dhanush was spotted attending the first day, first show of the film with his son Linga at Rohini Silver Screens in Chennai. The actor was visibly emotional as fans cheered loudly, scaled theatre walls, and tried to catch a glimpse of him. Videos of him acknowledging the crowd with folded hands and emotional expressions have gone viral. His security team had to intervene to manage the crowd and ensure his safe exit. Interestingly, Kuberaa was cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a UA certificate, but only after 19 scenes were trimmed. The total duration was reduced by 13 minutes and 41 seconds from the original cut. As Kuberaa heads into the weekend, all eyes are on its Saturday and Sunday performance to determine whether it can maintain its hold and close the gap with Dhanush's previous box office records. Prosenjit Chatterjee on Sitaare Zameen Par's cinema-only move: Aamir can take risk

Aamir Khan's much-anticipated 'Sitaare Zameen Par' released in theatres on June 20. In a historic move, the superstar has decided to go cinema-only, ditching the OTT release altogether. His move has received mixed reviews from the industry, and actor Prosenjit Chatterjee admitted that such kind of changes are an exclusive chat with Chatterjee weighed in on Aamir Khan's decision. While he admitted that the need is required, he also mentioned how Khan's experience enables him to take such about Aamir Khan's 'only cinema' approach, Chatterjee said, "He can take the risk. He has been serving the industry for many years, and he understands the pulse and sensibilities of the audiences." The Jubilee actor added that while this won't halt the process, someone needed to take a step to initiate a change. Although he added that there's no good or bad to this method."I remember long back when content would be sold to CD companies, and it paid producers handsomely. However, after a year or two, I realised that the CDs were already in the market in a few days, and the theatre business was getting affected. So I called up all the producers for a meeting and we jointly decided that while the rights would be sold off, we need to have a gap of a good 9-12 weeks. All producers came together, and things changed to a certain level," the Bengali actor added that he saw the same trend when it came to films' television premieres. "In three or four weeks, they would start playing Bengali and even Hindi films on television. So, we stopped that and said let's give it after eight weeks. To save the theatrical business and cinema, he (Aamir Khan) is a person who can think this way or take this kind of risk. Nothing will change, a film will come on OTT and then on satellite television. That's how it works, that's how we reach our Indian audiences. But let's see how this goes (Sitaare Zameen Par's only-cinema model), and I hope it works."Marking Aamir Khan's return to the big screen after a three-year hiatus, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has opened to a positive response from critics and fans alike. Also starring Genelia Deshmukh, the RS Prasanna is touted as the spiritual sequel of 'Taare Zameen Par'.Meanwhile, on June 19, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan also joined Aamir at the premiere and were seen warmly interacting with the film's young supporting cast, or 'sitaare', as they are lovingly referred to Watch
