Zverev overcomes bout of sickness to set up Halle Open semifinal with Medvedev
HALLE, Germany (AP) — Alexander Zverev recovered from feeling unwell in the first set to defeat Flavio Cobolli 6-4, 7-6 in the Halle Open tennis quarterfinals on Friday.
'I felt fine before the match and then out of nowhere I felt really, really bad and felt ill,' No.2 seed Zverev said. 'I went to throw up and then 15 minutes later I felt okay again. So, I don't know what it was. I've never experienced that before. Hopefully I will be fine the next couple of hours."

Zverev, who became the fifth player to reach five or more semifinals at the event after former champions Roger Federer, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Philipp Kohlschreiber and Tommy Haas, now faces one of his oldest rivals, Daniil Medvedev.
Medvedev knocked out Alex Michelsen 6-4, 6-3 to reach his third tour-level semifinal of the season.
'I think it's the guy I've played the most in my career,' Zverev said. "Definitely he's one of the toughest opponents in my career. It's going to be a great match and I'm really looking forward to facing him.'
Alexander Bublik and Karen Khachanov will contest the other semi-final.

Barcelona star pokes fun at Bayern Munich through Nico Williams social media post
The latest social media activity on the part of Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has turned heads on Saturday. This comes after the Dutchman aimed something of a dig at German heavyweights Bayern Munich, over their ongoing pursuit of Nico Williams. Advertisement It is of course common knowledge at this point that both Bayern and Barca are actively seeking a deal for wide-man Nico this summer. It is the latter, though, who are now considered clear favourites to land the 22-year-old, who favours a Camp Nou switch over any other destination. A post, in turn, surfaced on Instagram this weekend, intended as something of a jibe in the direction of Bayern. As much featured a quote from 2022, surrounding Robert Lewandowski's Barcelona move, accompanied by an updated caption regarding Nico. And as alluded to above, quick to showcase his appreciation for the post was a current member of Hansi Flick's midfield ranks, in Frenkie de Jong: Conor Laird – GSFN

Joshua Kimmich feels Bayern Munich could use signings in the attack
It's no secret that Bayern Munich has been looking for a brand new forward to add to their roster. With their search for a winger becoming increasingly imperative and seemingly tedious, Kimmich weighs in on the need for a signing in the attacking department. When asked about potential signings in attack, Kimmich said (via @iMiaSanMia), 'You'll have to ask the club what their plans are. Of course, you have the feeling that we could do something – with Flo (Wirtz) not coming, with Leroy leaving, with Thomas leaving.' Advertisement Wirtz's rejection of Bayern left many questions unanswered and a yet-to-be-filled gap in the attack, as Kimmich rightly points out. The departures in attack don't help either, and as each new transfer target seems too far-fetched, fans are growing impatient. Bayern's list of priority signings seemingly continues to fluctuate, and it remains to be seen who the Rekordmeister will land. Chelsea no longer interested in signing 22-year-old Spanish talent
Chelsea have signed several players from Spain in the last few years, but they will not be signing one of the nation's most talented youngsters, having taken the decision to end their interest in a summer deal. During the winter transfer window, Chelsea made multiple offers for Deportivo La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez, who was a standout performer in the Segunda during the 2024-25 season. The 22-year-old scored 15 goals and registered five assists in 39 appearances, and his performances led to significant interest being generated from across Europe. Chelsea end Yeremy Hernandez interest Image via Marca Advertisement Chelsea were one of those keen on signing Yeremay, but for the time being, they will no longer consider an approach. As per ESPN, they have ended their interest following the decision of the player to sign a new long-term contract with Deportivo. On Monday, Deportivo announced that Yeremay had signed a new deal until 2030, with the option to extend by an additional three years. As per the report, this made him the best-paid player in Segunda history, and in the process, it has ended any speculation of a possible move away during this summer's transfer window, which re-opens for business for Spanish clubs on the 1st of July. Serie A side Como, who are managed by former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas, were also interested in Yeremay, but after negotiations broke down between the two parties earlier this month, the player quickly opted to sign a new contract with Deportivo, who will be eyeing a return to La Liga in 2026. There are still chances for Yeremay to leave if his release clause is activated, but this is unlikely to happen. His previous deal had his buyout at approximately €30m, but with his new agreement, the valuation has been significantly increased – meaning that any jeopardy has been taken away.
