Does that suddenly take Pittsburgh and put them over the top to you?
If it's healthy, Aaron Rodgers, if it's, um, a guy who did look healthier the second half of the 2024 season with the New York Jets, I would say yes.
I think it is an upgrade over Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
I think Arthur Smith wants to coach Aaron Rodgers.
It lays everything to rest in terms of if there's a question or not.
There's not.
They got their guy.
If for a season, they're gonna figure out if this ultimately works.
So I do think it moves the needle.
In terms of certainty inside the franchise.
There's no more questions.
Either he works or he doesn't, but he's not going anywhere.

You know, you have your quarterback at the very least that gives the Steelers a chance to put their best foot forward, come training camp.
There's been 4 instances in NFL history of quarterbacks 42 years old or more, throwing 100 passes in a season and putting up a rating of over 76.6, which is really bad, right?
76.6% is terrible.
These are the four instances in NFL history of that happening.
2019 Tom Brady, 2020 Tom Brady, 2021, Tom Brady in 2022, Tom Brady.
OK, maybe one guy was the outlier.
Maybe just one guy can do this.
And we're asking Aaron Rodgers to be basically the second 42-year-old quarterback in 105 seasons of NFL history to to do this.

I don't know that that's really feasible.
I will say this though, this He went 10 and 7 last year at Russell Wilson.
Is Eric Rodgers really gonna be worse than Russell Wilson was last year?
Probably not.
So I, I assume you have to say the upsides higher than 10 wins, but ultimately, at the end of the day, that age curve at quarterback is real.
Every other quarterback other than Tom Brady in NFL history going back to 1920 has been either washed or retired.
And I don't know that I'm willing to bet on Aaron Rodgers being the second dude, so I will say no, I don't think this works out really well for the Steelers.

And then we're going to get to the end of the day and say, was, was this all really worth it?
But we all this hype, all these headlines, all the weight, all the, was it really worth it to go 88 and 1?

4 Broncos players, 1 coach make ESPN's All Quarter Century team
ESPN recently compiled a list of players to headline their NFL All Quarter Century team. Fred Smith, a towering figure in American business, has died. He was 80. While in most contexts he will be remembered first and foremost as the founder of FedEx, Smith had a significant impact on the NFL. Advertisement He was the father of former Falcons coach and current Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. Fred Smith also was a long-time minority owner of the Washington Commanders, and FedEx for many years held the naming rights to the stadium where the team plays. Beyond his company expressly requesting that the team abandon its former nickname in July 2020, Smith's efforts to extricate himself from the team placed significant pressure on former principal owner Daniel Snyder. Along with Robert Rothman and Dwight Schar, Smith worked to find a way out of their partnership with Snyder, culminating in Snyder buying their stakes in the franchise in early 2021. The unrest sparked by Smith and the other minority partners contributed to the focus on the business activities of the franchise as led by Snyder. There is an unmistakable link between the Smith/Rothman/Schar situation and the ultimate ouster of Snyder in 2023. Smith first acquired his interest in the team in 2003. He had attempted to secure an expansion franchise in Memphis in the 1990s, when the Panthers and Jaguars joined the NFL. With Elvis Presley's estate involved in the bid, the team would have been known as the Memphis Hound Dogs.
