Watching Sirens And Want To Know Where You've Seen Milly Alcock Before? We've Got You

Graziadaily22-05-2025

If you haven't heard of Milly Alcock yet, the Australian actress who stars in the hit Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon , then where have you been?
She is a rising star who has already been nominated for a Critics' Choice award and has just finished working with two of the biggest names in Hollywood. Here's everything you need to know about her – and when Sirens is out on Netflix.
Milly Alcock, whose full name is Amelia Alcock, is an Australian actress from Sydney in New South Wales.
She was first introduced to acting while playing Little Red Riding Hood in her infants school. Milly later dropped out of performing arts school in 2018 when she was cast in the Foxtel comedy drama Upright .
Milly is 25 years old. She was born in April 2000.
In 2022, Milly was cast in the HBO fantasy prequel, which is an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's fictional history book, Fire and Blood. She plays a young Princess Rhaenyra (later played by Emma D'Arcy).
Alcock garnered critical acclaim for her role and has been called 'the shining star' of the series.
Milly made her TV debut as a teenager in 2014 appearing in the Network Ten romcom Wonderland. She has also starred on Disney Channel in Australia from 2015 to 2017 and has acted in High Life and Janet King.
She's also featured in the Showcase drama Fighting Season, as well as A Place to Call Home, Pine Gap on Netflix and in Les Norton on ABC.
In January 2023, Milly appeared in the music video for 'Easy Now' by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Last June, she made her West End debut in The Crucible at the Gielgud Theatre in London.
As for what Milly plans to do next, in January it was announced that she will play Kara Zor-El/ Supergirl in the DC Universe film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow . She also acts opposite Julianne Moore and Meghann Fahy (who is famously dating heart throb Leo Woodall) in the Netflix dark comedy series, Sirens.
The new dark comedy is already available to stream on Netflix and it's not one to miss. Set over Labour Day weekend, Sirens follows Devon (Fahy) on her journey to a lavish island where mansions and hydrangeas abound – and where she comes to realise that the surrounding waters are murkier than they first appear. Milly plays Simone DeWitt, Devon's sharp and charming younger sister who hit the jackpot by working as a personal assistant to a billionaire.
Sirens is based on a play written by Molly Smith Metzler, who is the show runner behind the 2021 mega-hit Maid .
Despite only just arriving on the streaming platform, Sirens has already divided the critics. The Guardian called it 'utterly addictive' and 'endlessly entertaining' as well as 'witty' and 'star-packed'. Variety was on a similar page, calling it 'funny, surreal and yet ultimately grounded in emotion enough to put The Perfect Couple out of mind entirely'.
While The Independent has dubbed it 'disparate' with 'tonal shifts that come at breakneck speed'. And The Hollywood Reporter writes that 'much of Sirens is a slog'.
It sounds like there's only one way to find out who's right...
Another sign that she's got her head screwed on, there is little to no information about Milly's dating life online. According to Distractify, she was briefly linked to director Ari Kwasner-Catsi in 2019, but the relationship was not confirmed.
Yes, you can keep up with Milly on Instagram at @millyalcock. She often shares her latest acting news, as well as glamorous photo shoots and the odd insight into her personal life.

Star of steamy 00s music video flaunts incredible figure 22 years later

The star of one of the most iconic videos from the early 2000s looks just as good 22 years on - if not better - than she did back then, would you have recognised her? When one particular music video dropped back in the early 2000s, it quickly caused a stir. The steamy video for Call On Me by Eric Prydz was released in 2004, and it's gone down in the music video history books as one of the most iconic produced in that period. ‌ Featuring scantily clad gymgoers doing a dance workout - the undoubted star of the video was the blonde bombshell instructor - Deanne Berry. ‌ The song quickly went to number one in the UK singles chart, and was played absolutely everywhere. The video saw Deanne lead an aerobics class, showing off her incredible physique in a low-cut, black thong bodysuit, accessorised with a chic gold bangle, and a, perfectly noughties, black and neon headband. These days, impressively, Deanne looks possibly even better than she did back then - which is a pretty high bar, let's be honest. The dancer posted a selfie on her Instagram profile, wearing a pair of lycra shorts, a sports bra crop top, and her famous blonde tresses pulled back in an effortless high ponytail - and at age 44, Deanna has clearly dedicated her life to working out and living a healthy lifestyle. She runs her own dance workout company - Deanne Berry Bodies - and creates intense dance workouts for her customers and followers, guaranteed to get their heart rates up and their blood pumping. ‌ Deanne also puts on special dance events for things like hen-dos and 80s-inspired workshops. On her website, the Australian mum of three, explains that she is passionate about ensuring "exercise should not be a chore, it should be something that excites and inspires you," adding, "it should be a commitment for life." After growing up in Sydney and spending the early days of her career performing there, the dancer then packed her bags and moved to the other side of the world to London - where she spent eight years working with some of the biggest artists of the day, including Kylie Minogue, Shaggy, Girls Aloud, Basement Jaxx, and Kanye West - before being catapulted to fame by Eric Prydz. ‌ Deanne's fans have some glowing reports about her workouts, with testimonials on her website praising the instructor for her good energy and how she has actually managed to make exercising really fun. "The DBB workouts are the only ones that I can do all along with a real smile on my face," wrote one happy customer. "The workouts are fun and challenging, Deanne is super encouraging and kind which gives me real confidence. "Combine that with great beats and awesome dance moves, and enjoy the best workout of your life."

Netflix fans all watching 'one of the best series' with dramatic twist ending

Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt stars in the thriller North Shore, hailed for its 'best twist ever' by fans. Originally aired in 2023, the Australian-produced North Shore first graced UK screens on ITV and has now found a new lease of life on Netflix, captivating a fresh audience. In less than a week since its Netflix debut, it has soared to become one of the platform's most-watched titles among subscribers, clinching the top spot for most-watched series in the UK. It's outperforming new crime thrillers like The Waterfront and Dept. Q, but those without a Netflix account need not worry as it's still available for free streaming on ITVX. The six-part series weaves a tale of Australian and British detectives who join forces to solve a murder, only to stumble upon an international conspiracy with far-reaching political implications, all set against a backdrop of cultural collision, reports Surrey Live. Joining Froggatt in the cast is Game of Thrones actor John Bradley, adding to the show's allure. Despite not garnering enough critical attention to earn a Rotten Tomatoes score, the series has sparked considerable buzz online among viewers. One particularly enthusiastic fan took to social media to praise the finale: "One of the best twists of all time. The final episode has the most surprising twist of any crime/ murder mystery series since the first season of Broadchurch! Not as emotionally dramatic but still shocking!". Echoing the same sentiment, another viewer expressed: "I really enjoyed this as it kept me guessing. Most crime dramas are too obvious and full of plot holes." They further elaborated: "This one was very well written and I really didn't have any idea which way it was going to go, which kept me on the edge of my seat. The acting was also excellent and the backdrops a testimony to the beauty of Sydney."
