Cameron Diaz Reveals She Quit Acting Due to Inappropriate On-Set Behaviour
Cameron Diaz has revealed she gave up acting after getting tired of "Inappropriate" behaviour on sets.
The "Mask" actress, 52, made her long-awaited comeback to our screens in Netflix's new movie " Back In Action" as part of an all-star cast alongside Glenn Close and Jamie Foxx.
The Netflix movie, which was released on January 17, follows Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Foxx), two former CIA agents who have given up their life of espionage and action to settle down, start a family, and live a normal life.
However, things don't go so smoothly for them as their identities become compromised and they are forced to fight and run to protect those closest to them.
Following her return, Diaz, who also retired to focus on motherhood, has revealed that film sets have changed dramatically following her ten-year hiatus, thanks to the #MeToo movement.
She told the Skip Intro podcast: "The industry is so different. I mean, I definitely have to say that MeToo changed everything. You walk on to the set and it is different."
"There was always just like that one guy, you know, on set, that you were like, 'God, here he comes again,".
"There was always layers and layers of inappropriateness that you just kind of had to put up with," she added.
For "Back In Action", Diaz was approached by Human Resources prior to filming to discuss appropriate behaviour and was provided with an 'anonymous hotline' for cast and crew to report any issues.
"I was like, 'Wow, that's amazing'. The level of security and safety you feel as a woman now on set is great. I had never felt that before this film", she continued.
The movie trailer for the movie kicks off with Emily and Matt driving towards a restaurant with their children, however, they make a quick pit stop at a petrol station.
As he exits his car, a group of strangers surround him and his wife Emily and begin to attack them out of nowhere.
While they're able to defend themselves, their secret identities are revealed to their children and now they must figure out what threat there is to their family.
The action comedy, directed by Seth Gordon, serves as a comeback for both Diaz and Foxx following the latter's suffering a stroke in 2023 and Diaz quitting acting for her family in 2014.
Previously Diaz told Empire she returned to acting purely to work with Foxx again following "Any Given Sunday" and "Annie".
She said: "I thought that if I was going to come back and do a movie, the only person I'd come back and do it with would be this guy (Foxx),".
"Seriously. I had other opportunities along the way and I was always saying "No. I'm not doing it, I've told you... What? Jamie asked? Jamie? Oh, I can do a movie with Jamie!"'.
The "Holiday" star officially retired from her Hollywood career in 2018, before being lured back by her close friend Foxx to star alongside him in the action comedy.
But her comeback project was thrown into turmoil in 2023 when it was reported that Foxx 'had an absolute meltdown' on the UK set of the movie, which led to the firing of three people.
And in March 2023, a source close to the star revealed that - while Diaz didn't have any issues with Foxx - she likely won't return to the world of film after this movie, because she's had a hard time being away from her family and hates the 'drama and confrontation' that so often erupts on movie sets.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com the source said: "These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hates being away from Raddix."
They added: "Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world."
"She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired from the business in the first place,".
"She has already proven herself in the industry and has nothing left to prove to anyone."
Diaz walked away from Hollywood in 2018 to spend more time with her rocker husband Benji, Madden.
The two welcomed their daughter in December 2019 and have been incredibly private about their lives as parents to their three-year-old.

"Smashing Machine", "After the Hunt", "Bugonia" Eyed for Venice 2025 Lineup
Yara Sameh Dwayne Johnson, Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, and Emily Blunt are among the stars featured in hotly anticipated new movies expected to launch from the 2025 Venice Film Festival. With one month to go until the Lido lineup is unveiled, Venice's artistic director, Alberto Barbera, is racing against the clock to assemble the festival's 82nd edition, slots for which are still in flux, what's clear, however, is that there will be no shortage of the type of buzzy titles that make Venice a prime awards season driver. Benny Safdie's 'The Smashing Machine,' featuring Dwayne Johnson as two-time UFC heavyweight champ Mark Kerr and Emily Blunt as his wife Dawn; Luca Guadagnino's #MeToo-themed thriller 'After the Hunt' starring Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield; and 'Bugonia,' the latest collaboration between Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone — who were last at the fest in 2023 with the Oscar-winning 'Poor Things' — are all likely to be set for a Venice sendoff. Angelina Jolie, after being on the Lido last year with Pablo Larraín's 'Maria,' should also be back in Venice with Alice Winocour's drama 'Couture,' set in the Paris fashion world. Netflix looks likely to be on the Lido with Noah Baumbach's comedy-drama 'Jay Kelly,' starring George Clooney as its enigmatic titular character, and also with Guillermo del Toro's 'Frankenstein,' a new take on the classic monster movie with Jacob Elordi, Oscar Isaac, and Mia Goth. Another Netflix film that could surface at Venice is 'A House of Dynamite,' the next feature by Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow ('The Hurt Locker,' 'Zero Dark Thirty') with a cast comprising Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee, Gabriel Basso, and Jared Harris. The official logline reads: 'When a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States, a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond.' As Mubi boss Efe Cakarel revealed, Jim Jarmusch's triptych picture 'Father Mother Sister Brother,' starring Cate Blanchett and Adam Driver, is also believed to be up for a Lido competition slot. Mubi may also be launching Paolo Sorrentino's new movie 'La Grazia,' led by 'The Great Beauty' star Toni Servillo, from Venice if it's ready in time. Italian titles considered shoo-ins for Lido competition debuts include 'Duse,' Pietro Marcello's biopic about legendary Italian stage diva Eleonora Duse, played by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi; and 'Below the Clouds,' the new high-profile doc by Gianfranco Rosi, whose 'Sacro GRA' scooped the 2013 Venice Golden Lion. 'A Year of School' by rising auteur Laura Samani, who made a splash with 'Small Body' in 2021, is expected to surface somewhere in the official selection. Titles in the mix from Asia include Fan Bingbing-starrer 'Mother Bhumi' from Malaysian filmmaker Chong Keat Aun and Park Chan-wook's new film 'No Other Choice.' As previously announced, two-time Oscar winner Alexander Payne will preside over the main jury. The 82nd edition of Venice will run August 27-September 6. The lineup will be announced on July 22. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

4 Reasons Why We're Excited About ‘Katalog' Series
Just a few hours ago, the official trailer for one of the year's most anticipated series dropped, and it didn't take long before it started dominating conversations everywhere. With a surge of hype building ahead of its release on July 17, the buzz is real. Brought to you by Netflix and Magic Beans, the series stars Mohamed Farrag, Riham Abdel Ghafour, Bayoumy Fouad, Tara Emad, Ali El Bialy, Retal Abdel Aziz, Donia Sami, and more. From the trailer alone, it's clear this drama is set to keep audiences hooked. The storyline hints are intriguing, and here are four reasons why it's already made its way onto our must-watch list. Farrag's Powerful Portrayal of the Struggles of a Single Dad It looks like Mohamed Farrag's character is about to go through an emotional roller coaster as a single father of two. Balancing the lives of two children, each with different ages and needs, seems to be pulling him into an endless series of challenges. And from what we can tell, the catalog might just be his only source of guidance through it all, don't you think? From the Makers of Mawdoo3 3a2ely and Waafet Regala There's something very familiar about this series, a thread it shares with those two brilliantly admired productions. It falls into that unique space of emotional, human-driven dramas that almost feel like the kind of stories that resonate with everyone. Safe to say, it's shaping up to be a family-friendly watch with depth and heart. And with Ahmed El Ganainy and Magic Beans behind it, that's already a strong sign of quality and storytelling worth tuning in for. A Bold Take on Teen Challenges and Coming-of-Age Conflicts Whether it's their needs, their thoughts, or their impulsive decisions, teens are undoubtedly challenging to navigate on every level. Finding the right way to connect with and support them takes time, patience, and a lot of trial and error. This drama feels like it's offering the right dose of all that, a space to explore these layered conflicts, no matter which side of the story you find yourself on. A Brilliantly Cast Ensemble with Promising On-Screen Chemistry One of the strongest reasons to keep this drama on your radar is its brilliantly chosen cast, led by director Khaled El Halafawy. Bringing together Mohamed Farrag and Riham Abdel Ghafour in a story that weaves love, grief, and gratitude already feels like a recipe for powerful performances. The chemistry between the entire ensemble looks incredibly promising, and it's clear this cast is set to deliver something truly moving on screen.

Russell Crowe, Henry Cavill Reunite for "Highlander" Reboot
Yara Sameh Russell Crowe is set to reunite with his "Man of Steel" co-star Henry Cavill for the remake of 'Highlander.' The Oscar-winner is set to play Cavill's mentor in a variation on the part played by Sean Connery in the 1986 original film. 'John Wick' director Chad Stahelski will helm the remake from a script by Michael Finch ('John Wick: Chapter 4'). 'Highlander' is backed by Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists, which is run by former Netflix film chief Scott Stuber. The film will open theatrically. Crowe was one of the biggest stars of the late '90s and 00s, appearing in action-heavy roles in the likes of 'Gladiator' and 'Master & Commander,' and earning critical raves for more dramatic work in 'The Insider,' 'A Beautiful Mind,' and 'L.A. Confidential.' In recent years, he's taken on more character parts in the likes of 'Kraven the Hunter' or starred in lower-budgeted movies such as 'The Pope's Exorcist' and 'Sleeping Dogs.' Crowe is next slated to play Hermann Göring, one of Hitler's most trusted allies, in James Vanderbilt's 'Nuremberg,' which Sony Pictures Classics will release in November. He also recently wrapped work on Netflix's 'Unabom,' which looks at the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, as well as the Cold War thriller 'Billion Dollar Spy' and the action thriller 'Bear Country.' Stuber and Nick Nesbitt will produce 'Highlander' for United Artists alongside Neal H. Moritz, 87Eleven Entertainment, Stahelski's production banner, Josh Davis of Davis Panzer Productions, and Louise Rosner. United Artists has secured full rights to the 1986 original, which Lionsgate developed, with the potential to also develop a new series. The original film starred Christopher Lambert and centered on a group of nearly invincible, ageless warriors. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
