New London shooting leaves 2 with gunshot wounds
NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people suffered gunshot wounds in a shooting Thursday night near Bank Street, according to New London police.
Around 11:12 p.m., police responded to the area of Bank Street and Golden Street for report of shots fired and someone possibly injured.
Groton police investigating scene at Super 8 Motel on Route 12
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.
Later, a second adult male arrived at the hospital, also for treatment of a gunshot wound in his lower extremity. The injury was non-life threatening.
Police said the shooting does not seem to be a random act.
Groton police share photos of individuals allegedly tied to bank robbery
Members of the Investigative Services Division responded to collect evidence and process the scene.

2 people arrested on drug and firearm charges in Vernon
VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) — Two men were arrested after police found loaded firearms, marijuana and fentanyl pills in a vehicle search on Route 83 in Vernon, police said. Nahzai Watkins, 22, of Vernon, and Masai Johnson, 22, of Windsor, were arrested, according to police. 5 wounded during shooting at Father's Day cookout in Hartford It happened around 10:15 p.m. on Friday when an officer stopped a car for allgedly driving 'erratically.' Police said two people were in the car and marijuana residue was allgedly on the driver's lap. When the officer administered a sobriety test, the passenger began having a 'medical emergency' and was taken out of the car. Authorities said that while helping the passenger, the operator sprinted back to the vehicle, jumped through the passenger compartment into the driver's seat and attempted to flee. Officers intervened and removed the suspect from the car before he could drive away. Following a search using K9 Franco, authorities found around 18 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, 10 pressed fentanyl pills, scales and packaging materials, and two loaded firearms. Police use tracking device to help apprehend Hamden carjacking suspects
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police say they used a tracking device to help apprehend three people accused of fleeing from a carjacking in Hamden Thursday night. Johnny Jones, 20; Malachi Macfarlane, 18; and a 17-year-old boy were all charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, weapon in a motor vehicle, and interfering with police. New Haven man arrested for alleged handgun threat Jones- the driver- was also charged with engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, weapon in a motor vehicle and carrying a pistol without a permit. Police said it was around 9:19 p.m. when they were notified by Hamden police of a carjacking that had just happened. The NHPD Real Time Crime Center then located the vehicle in the area of Goffe Street, by Webster Street. Officers used spike strips and Star Chase- a GPS tracking device- on the vehicle, which they said ended up crashing into a fence on North Place in West Haven. Hamden man dies from injuries after motorcycle crash on I-95 The three suspects reportedly tried to run, but were apprehended. A .40 caliber handgun was located in the vehicle during the arrests, police said. 'This is great police work. From Hamden notifying us of a carjacking, then our use of technology to located the vehicle, safely deflate its tires and track it to West Haven where we recovered the suspects and took a gun off the streets,' New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson said. 'I can't speak highly enough about how our officers responded.' Macfarlane and Jones were held on $500,000 and $300,000 bonds respectively and the juvenile was released to his guardian. Man charged for reckless driving with 6-year-old in the vehicle in Southington
SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A man is facing charges for reckless driving with a 6-year-old in the car in Southington on Thursday, police said. Stephen Buckler, 43, of Bristol was charged with risk of injury to child, reckless endangerment in the first degree, disobeying signal of an officer, evading responsibility and failure to drive in proper lane. Police use tracking device to help apprehend Hamden carjacking suspects Police said around 8:10 p.m., authorities were working a traffic detail at the Southington High School graduation ceremonies. Police saw a white Chevy Trailblazer drive over the grassy median in the High School parking lot, cross the sidewalk, and enter Flanders Street, passing a row of stopped vehicles. Authorities said the vehicle continued traveling towards police as they asked the driver of the white Chevy Trailblazer to stop. The vehicle allegedly began to speed as it headed towards police and 'abruptly' turned right on Annelise Avenue, where it drove over a curb, striking a fence. Police said it caused other private property damage before fleeing the area northbound. According to police, the officers in the roadway had to jump out of the way of the moving vehicle.
