Borderlands® 4 Now Available for Pre-Order; Post-Launch Content to Include Story Missions and All-New Vault Hunters

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, 2K and Gearbox Software announced that Borderlands® 4 is now available for pre-order. The next installment in the critically and commercially-successful franchise that started a new genre of games will launch worldwide on September 12, 2025 via PlayStation®5 (PS5®), Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2025.

Players will take up the mantle of one of four new Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities that, combined with literally billions of weapons, introduce even more ways to crush, bash and destroy enemies. With the biggest Borderlands world ever, brand new traversal mechanics help them explore the sprawling planet Kairos to face off against the tyrannical Timekeeper and his Order.
Additionally, players can look forward to a robust roadmap of free and paid post-launch content rolling out following the launch of Borderlands 4 so they can continue their adventures on Kairos. Depending on which content pack they own, paid DLC can include two new Vault Hunters, all-new regions of Kairos, new story missions, side missions, challenges, enemies and more. Borderlands 4 offers three editions of the game: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Super Deluxe Edition.
All editions are available for pre-order today and will release worldwide on September 12, 2025. Players who pre-order one of these editions will receive the Gilded Glory Pack*, which includes one Vault Hunter Skin, one Weapon Skin, and an ECHO-4 Drone Skin.
The Standard Edition includes the base game and will be available for $69.99 on PlayStation®5 (PS5®), Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The Deluxe Edition will feature a variety of bonus items and will be available for $99.99 on PlayStation®5 (PS5®), Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
This edition includes the Bounty Pack Bundle**, featuring four separate post-launch DLC packs, each with distinct areas, new missions, and unique bosses; four Vault Cards with unique challenges and rewards; new gear and weapons; four new vehicles, and Vault Hunter cosmetics; and the Firehawk's Fury Weapon Skin.
The Super Deluxe Edition will include all bonus digital content from the Deluxe Edition and will be available for $129.99 on PlayStation®5 (PS5®), Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
This edition also includes the Vault Hunter Pack***, featuring two new Story Packs, each featuring a new Vault Hunter, story, and side missions; two new map regions; new gear and weapons; more Vault Hunter cosmetics; and new ECHO-4 cosmetics.

Look Outside just got a big update bringing a bunch of new creepy experiences

I didn't really need an excuse to begin another playthrough of Look Outside , but the developer just dropped an update that provides plenty of reasons to dip back into the survival horror RPG if you were looking for any. Update 1.5 brings new crafting recipes, new interactions with people in the apartment building — some familiar, some not — and big changes to the flooded basement area, along with a slew of other tweaks and bug fixes. You can take a look through the update notes to see everything that's been added, or just jump right in and let yourself be surprised. Look Outside is a survival horror game with turn-based combat that was released on Steam in March. The game sees the player character Sam trapped in an apartment building for two weeks to ride out some strange, apocalyptic event happening outside. The weirdness, of course, makes its way inside too, and you'll find yourself up against all sorts of body horror monstrosities and trying to figure out who you can trust. Between the art, the music and the story, it's an all-around masterpiece that I haven't been able to stop yapping about since playing it for the first time back in April. It's really cool to see the developer is continuing to add to it because this is one of those games that's just made to be played over and over. If you haven't picked it up yet, there's no time like the present.

Thousands of kids take part in T.D. Jakes Foundation STEAM Expo

Thousands of children and families gathered Saturday at the Shops at RedBird for the T.D. Jakes Foundation's second annual STEAM Expo, a hands-on event designed to spark curiosity and creativity in science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Hands-on learning inspires young minds Excited lines of kids and parents streamed into the venue, where they explored interactive booths, live demonstrations and family-friendly activities. Topics ranged from human anatomy and artificial intelligence to sports medicine and forestry. Five-year-old Leondri Stiggle was especially enthusiastic about the science experiments. "It feels hot, so hot! We made lotion, and it feels like it's juice," she said. Her father, Leon Stiggle, said he wished he had access to similar opportunities as a child. "When you start early, it always evolves into something better," he said. "It's good they have this program — shout out to T.D. Jakes. Appreciate it!" Juneteenth education adds cultural depth The event also featured educational exhibits on Juneteenth, including live actors portraying historical figures such as Fort Worth's Dr. Opal Lee, known as the "grandmother of Juneteenth." The Southwest Dallas County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. sponsored the exhibit. "We also have other living exhibits where you can learn about the Emancipation Proclamation and educational development," said chapter president Maiya Bangurah. Building a future-ready workforce Kelley Cornish, president of the T.D. Jakes Foundation, said the expo marked the nonprofit's 10th pop-up event in two years. "People don't realize what an incredible field this is," Cornish said. "We've learned that 2.4 million jobs go unfilled every year because there's no pipeline. We're starting early. Exposure to these careers can literally change a family's dynamic." The foundation's next event is scheduled for the fall.

You may have access to hundreds of free games you're not taking advantage of

Ever since Nintendo was the first to breach the $80 threshold for games with Mario Kart World, the concerns over game prices have been top of mind across the industry. Between tariffs, inflation, cost of living, and what appears to be an inevitable recession right around the corner, I have already been preparing for how I can be a more discerning consumer of games. There are tons of ways to be more thrifty with our favorite hobby. You can wait for sales, trade and borrow games, rely more on subscription services like PlayStation Plus and Game Pass, or just stick to the wealth of free-to-play games. But there's one resource I never see brought up that could give you access to a huge library of major titles for free: your local library. Recommended Videos If you haven't been to a library in years like I hadn't, it may come as a surprise to learn that many have grown some impressive video game catalogues in addition to books, manga, and movies. I can vaguely recall a few people mentioning that libraries had started carrying video games over the years, but I always assumed it would be some small corner with half a dozen Xbox 360 cases that may or may not have a working disc inside. This past weekend I was once again reminded about libraries being a resource for games and finally decided to see just how viable they were for someone who wants to save money but still have access to new releases. Now, this will all depend on what your local library carries, but I was shocked to see the quality and quantity of games offered even in my mid-sized Colorado town. It took a minute to figure out how to navigate my local branch's website to just show video games, but once I did, I was greeted with a list of over 200 games in stock between the PS4 and PS5 generations. And these aren't purely educational or obscure titles, either. Games like Doom: The Dark Ages, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Assassin's Creed: Shadows are all available for PS5 and Xbox Series X at my local branch, with most of 2025's earlier big hitters accounted for, too. Looking through all the pages of games online, I have already compiled a list of games I wasn't able to get to at the time and can now easily pick up at my leisure with nothing but a scan of my library card. This isn't the ultimate hack to play every game you want for free with no strings attached. Everything has drawbacks, and in this case you will have to be okay with waiting a few weeks or a month after a big game comes out before your library gets it. It will be on a case-by-case basis in terms of what games your library will get, but at least in my area they post a list of upcoming games they plan to get and I can make requests to the staff as well. There's also the fact that you may not be the only person privy to this service and someone else might check the game out first. Even with those caveats, you can't beat the prospect of free game rentals in this day and age. Libraries might seem antiquated in this day and age, but they are incredibly important community institutions. They provide tons of resources and programs for people in their communities and ask for nothing in return. Most libraries get funding based on how often they are used, so you can know that you're helping support the people around you while also getting to play great games at no cost. While you're there, I also suggest checking out some of those events. My local library, for example, has weekly Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader and virtual tabletop RPG groups I had no idea existed so you might be surprised. With all the factors at play in the world, everyone is looking for ways to somehow save money without giving up the things we love. If you have a library nearby, I highly suggest adding it as one more tool in your toolbox for keeping your passion for games alive when you might otherwise be priced out.
