June 20 (UPI) -- Pop star and Wicked actress Ariana Grande released a music video for her song "Twilight Zone," along with an a cappella version of the track Friday.
The music video begins with the elderly Grande from her Brighter Days Ahead short film watching a video of her younger self wake up.
"Did I dream the whole thing? Was I just a nightmare?" she sings as she awakens.
Grande takes in her ransacked surroundings and walks downstairs to find the area flooded.
The video appears to be a prequel to the "Supernatural" video, released in May, which shows her leaving the home and walking through a ravaged residential area before being beamed up into an alien spacecraft.
The a cappella version of her song was met with love from her fans.
"Her voice is so unbelievably beautiful and soothing," one fan commented. "Her vocals are angelic."
Grande released the deluxe version of her Eternal Sunshine album on March 28.

The finale will premiere in the fall, but a specific date has not yet been announced.

Director: Rami Malek's accessible awkwardness made him ideal 'Amateur'

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo NEW YORK, June 20 (UPI) -- Director James Hawes says his new action-thriller, The Amateur, works as well as it does because Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek is believable as Charlie Heller, a CIA cryptographer with zero field skills, and makes viewers instantly care about him. "He has such intelligence as an actor, as a man, so you believe the brains behind the guy," Hawes told UPI in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. "He has that charming, accessible awkwardness, so you feel that he has a vulnerability that you want to exploit. Also, as an actor, he's incredibly brave, in every way. He throws himself into stunts. He throws himself in emotionally, so I think it just engages you because you travel with him." Co-starring Jon Bernthal, Rachel Brosnahan, Caitriona Balfe, Michael Stuhlbarg, Holt McCallany, Julianne Nicholson and Laurence Fishburne, the adaptation of Robert Littell's best-selling 1981 novel follows Charlie (Malek) as he tries to track down the people responsible for his wife Sarah's murder, against the wishes of his bosses at the Agency. "We had CIA advisers, as part of it all," Hawes said, noting there are interviews with them and behind-the-scenes videos in the extras of the digital release of the film, which is now available on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home. "We really made it so the actors could be confident of the logic of the props, of everything they were doing and then we do that little Hollywood lift," he added. "So, we talked about it being rooted, but elevated. It was rooted in the real world. We ran it past all these advisers who said, 'Yes, that totally works.' And then we'd find a Hollywood twist, just to put some a little bit more sprinkles on." Spy capers seem to be in Hawes' blood since he also previously helmed numerous episodes, including the pilot, of the beloved British MI5 series, Slow Horses. He said he doesn't see a huge difference between stories that follow American spies vs. ones about British secret agents. "It's a genre that the British have done for a long time from Le Carre. Of course, I worked on Slow Horses, so it's something we seem to own," he explained. "I think that's part of our political history: putting us in the middle of the world between the enemies of Europe and the States. It's all about how you find your unexpected heroes thrown into the danger of the shadows." Hawes also directed the first two episodes of Lanterns, the upcoming DC Universe series starring Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald and Nathan Fillion. It is scheduled to premiere on HBO and Max early next year.

More than 13 years after co-creating Chicago Fire and thus helping sire the popular #OneChicago Universe, Derek Haas was looking to break free of the broadcast procedural formula, with Prime Video's Countdown. Created by Haas, Countdown is set in motion when an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight. Special Agent in Charge Blythe (played by Euphoria's Eric Dane) in turn heads up task force 'Hurricane,' comprised of LAPD detective Mark Meachum (Supernatural's Jensen Ackles), DEA badass Amber Oliveras (All Rise's Jessica Camacho), LAPD gangs unit officer Lucas Finau (Young Rock's Uli Latukefu), and FBI agents Evan Shepherd (The Flash's Violett Beane) and Keyonte Bell (The Boys' Elliot Knight). As opposed to broadcast dramas (such as FBI: International, which Haas also co-created) that seldom get more than, maybe, a two-hour finale to tackle a major, deadly threat, Countdown as a streaming series has the luxury of spending more time with good guys and bad guys alike. 'I'd written novels before, and I wanted this to be almost like chapters in a book,' Haas shares with TVLine. 'That way it could be a story that had an ever-evolving threat — and twists and turns within that threat — but you could spend time with the antagonists, which is something that we rarely did on those other shows, and then also get to know this team over a longer period of time as the case evolves.' Another deviation from the norm that Haas was all too happy to indulge in involves the pacing of this task force's pursuit of the enigmatic and highly dangerous Volcheck over the span of a 13-episode season. 'What I wanted to do differently than a lot of shows in this genre do is I wanted to surprise the audience with when this case is going to end,' Haas shares. 'A lot of times on shows like this, you think the end of the season will be the end of that case, but I don't want the audience thinking that they can take some time off and then catch up later. No, you've got to be along for the ride.' A mash-up of FBI, LAPD and DEA officers, chipping away at a series of leads in the name of neutralizing a global threat? Season 1 felt very much like '24 meets Graceland,' if you ask me. Haas himself embraces my comparison, but also adds to it. 'I love it. Those are great examples, and definitely were talked about before we started,' he says. 'But as much as it was 24 when I was initially talking to Amazon about this show, I was also talking about '80s movies that I love, like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon, and Raiders of the Lost Ark — movies that had these upbeat, 'Can't wait to get to the next day,' love-their-jobs, throwback action stars. 'That really was where the inspiration for casting Jensen Ackles came from,' he adds, 'and I was lucky that I got him.'
