Odisha Vision Document
" and flagged off new trains during his visit to the state.
He also felicitated several people, including '
Lakhpati Didis
' and others.
Modi, who visited Odisha for the sixth time since the BJP government was formed in the state in June 2024, launched the projects at a function at Janata Maidan here.

The projects launched by the Prime Minister included drinking water and irrigation, health infrastructure, rural roads and bridges, national highways and railway infrastructure.
Modi flagged off the first passenger train to Boudh district after inaugurating the Sonepur-Purunakatak railway line. Railway projects such as the third and fourth rail lines between Sarla-Sason and the fourth rail line between Jharsuguda-Jamga were also launched.

This apart, Modi also flagged off 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system, promoting
eco-friendly urban mobility

Prepared following people's feedback, the Prime Minister unveiled the 'Odisha Vision Document', the roadmap for the state's development goals, anchored around the centenary of Odisha's formation as a linguistic state in 2036 and India's 100 years of independence in 2047.
The vision aims to transform Odisha into a Dollar 500 billion economy by 2036 and a Dollar 1.5 trillion economy by 2047.
The Prime Minister also launched 'Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana', an initiative to transform birthplaces of Odia icons into memorials, featuring museums, interpretation centres, statues and libraries, thereby promoting cultural tourism and preserving heritage.
Modi also felicitated some women achievers from across the state, who included some "Lakhpati Didis".
'Lakhpati Didi' is an initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development focused on empowering women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The goal is to help them achieve an annual household income exceeding Rs one lakh by adopting sustainable livelihood practices.
The state tops the list of creating 16.60 lakh 'Lakhpati Didis' in the country. PTI

Bhubaneswar, June 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday asserted that Naxalism will soon be completely eradicated from the country, crediting his government's developmental push in tribal areas for the decline in extremist violence. Addressing a gathering on the occasion of the BJP government's first anniversary in Odisha, the Prime Minister said that before 2014, more than 125 tribal-majority districts across India were impacted by Naxalite violence. He pointed out that these tribal regions were long unfairly labeled as part of the 'Red Corridor' and had been neglected by previous governments, which declared them backward and left them behind. 'In the last few years, our government has worked to bring tribal communities out of a climate of violence and onto a path of development,' Modi said. 'We have taken strict action against those who spread violence, and simultaneously, launched a new wave of development in these areas.' As a result, he stated, the influence of Naxalism has now been reduced to fewer than 20 districts across the country. Expressing confidence, Modi said that with the current pace of development and enforcement, tribal areas will soon be entirely free from the shadow of violence. 'This is Modi's guarantee,' he declared. The Prime Minister emphasised that empowering tribal communities, fulfilling their aspirations, and easing their hardships remains a top priority for his government. He highlighted that for the first time, two major national schemes have been launched specifically for tribal development, with a combined outlay exceeding Rs1 lakh crore. Modi elaborated on the first initiative — Dharati Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, under which development work is on in more than 60,000 tribal villages across India. "In Odisha too," he noted, "we are building houses for tribal families, constructing roads, and providing electricity and clean drinking water." Discussing the second major scheme, PM Janman Yojana, the Prime Minister said the inspiration for the initiative came from Odisha itself, and acknowledged the guidance of the country's first tribal woman President, Droupadi Murmu, in shaping the program. He said the scheme focuses on supporting Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), and that development work worth hundreds of crores is currently being carried out in remote tribal hamlets under this scheme. Accenture Q3 earnings: Revenue rises 8% to $17.7 billion on Gen-AI momentum; Gen-AI revenue tops $700 million
Accenture on Friday reported an 8% year-on-year rise in revenue to $17.7 billion for the March-May quarter of FY25, supported by growing demand for AI-related services. The Ireland-headquartered IT services firm, which follows --a September-August fiscal calendar, also raised the lower end of its full--year revenue growth guidance to 6-7% in local currency from 5-7% earlier. The company's Q3 performance included a modest positive foreign exchange impact of 0.5%, it said in a statement. Accenture's gross margin for the quarter stood at 32.9%, compared with 33.4% in the same period last year. Accenture Chair and CEO Julie Sweet said, 'We continue to deliver on our strategy to be our clients' reinvention partner of choice and lead in Gen-AI,' highlighting that Gen-AI bookings for the quarter hit $1.5 billion, with revenues exceeding $700 million. Year-to-date, Accenture has secured $4.1 billion in Gen-AI bookings and generated $1.8 billion in revenue. According to the company, new bookings in Q3 totalled $19.7 billion, down 6% in US dollar terms. Of this, $9.08 billion came from consulting services and $10.62 billion from managed services.
