Bradley Chubb admits to ‘lying' about Dolphins' culture change

The post Bradley Chubb admits to 'lying' about Dolphins' culture change appeared first on ClutchPoints. When the Miami Dolphins decided to part ways with Vic Fangio after the 203 NFL season, it was supposed to 'fix' the team's cultural issues. Advertisement The Dolphins players didn't like Fangio's old-school ways, made that known down the stretch, and when he was finally relieved of his duties – allowed to instead lead the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl – the hiring of Anthony Weaver was supposed to finally get things back on track. And yet, even one of the team's defensive leaders, Bradley Chubb, admitted to reporters at camp that a cultural change simply didn't happen, as the Dolphins put a to – read: fin – into the water instead of going all-in on the change. While the Dolphins still finished second in the AFC East in 2024, they took major steps back from 2023, with their total number of wins, point differential, and offensive rating all taking major steps backward. Still, their defense did improve under Weaver, so who knows? Maybe a renewed commitment to playing defense the right way could correspond with a return to the playoffs if the Dolphins' offense can get back on track. 'We're Going To Win!' Bold Announcement Issued by Cowboys Coach Brian Schottenheimer

'We're Going To Win!' Bold Announcement Issued by Cowboys Coach Brian Schottenheimer originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - Part of new Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer's point in his recent proclamation about the fate of his 2025 team was a prideful boast about his coaching staff. Advertisement And when he said it? No doubt the assistants around here felt their ears perk up and their eyebrows raise and their chests puff out. "We're going to win,'' Schotty said. "And when we win, they're going to want to steal our coaches, because we're going to win.'' The coaching-related concept, in a nutshell? The 2025 Cowboys are going to shock the world (as all teams believe they will) and eventually, lower-level staffers will become coordinators and coordinators will become head coaches and everybody's going to someday be enshrined in Canton. More immediately? Schotty's statement demostrates a clarity of vision and an energetic vibe and a confidence to load pressure upon his 51-year-old shoulders ... Advertisement Even though he's never done this before. Schottenheimer, you'll notice, isn't talking about a "rebuilt.'' He's too hungry for that, and his boss, Jerry Jones, at age 82 may be too old for that. So there is a "The Time Is Now'' feel to what Schottenheimer is doing - even though this is his first go-around as a head coach - and to a great degree, there is that same feel in much of what the front office has done in roster-building. There are some realities to deal with, of course. In the NFC East alone, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles have what seems to be a better roster than Dallas has. And the Washington Commanders just went to the NFC Championship Game (and lost to Philly) ... a destination Dallas hasn't reached in 30 years. Advertisement So Schotty's bunch is challenged, at this point, to simply be better than third-best in its own division. But he has waited a long time for the chance; almost a coincidental 30 years, in fact. And the confidence is not fake. "That's fine,'' he said of the idea that a successful Cowboys staff will be raided by rivals. "If they come for my coaches, it means we did everything as it should be.'' It seems like quite an "if.'' But Schotty's got the building - and maybe Cowboys Nation - believing. Cowboys' Dak Prescott Already Subject Of Odd Training Camp Criticism

Cowboys' Dak Prescott Already Subject Of Odd Training Camp Criticism originally appeared on Athlon Sports. We have officially finished the underwear Olympics, my friends, and the Dallas Cowboys are now on break until next month, when training camp will begin. Advertisement There will be a host of things to keep an eye on with the run game, defensive line, Micah Parsons' contract extension, but perhaps one might take precedence. Dak Prescott and George Pickens' chemistry. Already off to a good start at OTAs and minicamp, and yes, that counts for nothing, but do that at training camp? Now we're talking. For Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, training camp might be where Pickens helps Dak justify his monster contract. 'The arrival of Pickens, who was acquired in a post-draft trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is part of the reason we're excited to see Prescott in camp," Knox writes. "He should complement top target CeeDee Lamb and help open things up in the passing game. Advertisement "How will Prescott look in camp with a new system and a new perimeter playmaker? Hopefully good enough to justify the massive four-year, $240 million extension he signed last September." Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) runs the ball against the Atlanta Falcons in the second quarter at Mercedes-Benz Davis-Imagn Images Hmm. Right. In all honesty, Dak could throw 500 touchdowns to Pickens while in Oxnard, and that won't justify his contract in July. One thing would - a Super Bowl win. But we get it. Having Pickens in the lineup alongside CeeDee Lamb, that gives Prescott two serious weapons, and both could make Dak a better quarterback and go some way to justifying his money if things pan out well. Granted, finishing second in MVP voting in 2023 was forgotten rather quickly by the masses, and nothing at training camp will alter the narrative around Prescott. Advertisement The only needle mover is true contention for a Super Bowl, which, with the addition of Pickens, while still a long shot, has Dallas far closer than it was six months ago.
