Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney cosied up to a new mystery man during Radio 1's Big Weekender, one month on from her split from co-star Liam Scholes. The 22-year-old actress, who plays Amy Barlow on the ITV soap, was seen looking 'loved-up' and smitten with her new man as they couldn't keep their hands off one another in the VIP section of the festival on Friday night.
Speaking about their undeniable connection, a source told The Mirror that Elle looked relaxed around her mystery man and that the pair were not shy about showing affection for one another. "Ellie and the guy looked very happy to be in one another's company.
"They didn't shy away from everybody around them and looked very cosy together, Ellie seemed relax as she looked close to guy, it seems that she had moved on from Liam," they added.
Last May, Elle split with her co-star boyfriend. The Coronation Street star dated Liam, who plays Eli Higginson on the popular ITV soap opera. However, they went their separate ways after two years when they were once inseparable and 'did everything together'.
At the time of their split, a source close to the former couple said: 'Elle and Liam were loves young dream and did everything together. Their split has really shocked their co-stars and family, and no one knows exactly what happened." The insider added that it was all 'very sudden'.
They continued that the lovers 'Have both made it clear to pals it would take a miracle for them to get back together again.' Elle got with Liam back in 2022 with their relationship initially going from strength to strength.
Elle and Liam even spent Christmas together back in 2023 as the actress took to Instagram on Christmas Day to share a sweet festive photo. The pair posed as they snuggled up together beside an impressive Christmas tree.
Huge baubles, crown decorations and stars adorned the festive tree, while Elle was wearing a black dress with sparkly details and strappy white heels.
Elle uploaded the cute snap to her Instagram page - with fans quickly showing their approval. She captioned the moment with the simple statement: "Christmas 2023'. Fans and friends were soon commenting to wish them well - with Coronation Street actress Harriet Bibby writing: "Merry Christmas you gorgeous pair."
Another follower wrote: "Merry Christmas! May your day be filled with happiness.". And a third social media user typed in reply: "Awww Merry Christmas to you and Liam there Elle."
Elle previously gushed over her former relationship with Liam - saying the fact he is an actor means he understands the hectic work life she endures.
She told OK! Magazine in March: 'He's been brilliant… because he's an actor as well he knows what it entails. He's coped with his fair share of backlash in the past when he played Eli in Corrie. He's always really supportive and if I've had a bad day he'll say, 'Let's go for a Chinese…'
Asked if it was true love, she enthusiastically replied: 'Yes! It's going well, it's going very well.'

Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson welcomed her twins on 18 May but only got to take them home last week after they spent some time in the NICU Jesy Nelson admits she's 'never felt more lucky in her life' as she shared snaps of her newborn babies with fans on social media. The former Little Mix singer, who struggled with a difficult pregnancy, revealed last week that her baby twins arrived back at her home for the first time after she welcomed them on 18 May. In a sweet update shared on Instagram, Jesy shared a carousel of snaps and videos of her daughters, Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, with whom she shares a partner, Zion Foster. She posted pictures of them looking cosy, wrapped up in towels, as well as a video of Zion dancing with one of their babies. Jesy also shared numerous snaps of her babies lying on her chest and a snap of them enjoying a sunny day while sleeping in a pram. "But slowly as the days go by and they get stronger and wires start to come away, moments like this feel like a dream." The Black Magic singer shared her happiness over the fact her children were reunited together following treatment. She explained: "Having them reunited for the first time ever today was the most magical feeling I will never be able to describe. The strongest little girls I've ever known who really do have the most inspiring story to tell."
