Nikita Roy Movie: Supernatural Space Still Untapped In India, Says Producer Nickky Bhagnani
Nikita Roy Movie: The psychological thriller Nikita Roy, featuring Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role, is scheduled for a global theatrical release on June 27. Directed by Sinha's brother, Kussh S Sinha, the movie delves into concepts of mysticism, psychological suspense, and the fragility of human nature. With much buzz around the movie, producer Nickky Khemchand Bhagnani shared insights into the making of the much-anticipated supernatural thriller which also features Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal, and Suhail Nayyar. Bhagnani talked about the film's unique narrative, creative collaborations, and the overwhelming response to its trailer, saying that the genre is still untapped in India.
"The Supernatural space is still untapped in India. Nikita Roy was always envisioned as something different. It's not just about jump scares or horror elements — it's a thriller that taps into the fear of the unknown," said Bahgnani.
Talking about convincing Paresh Rawal for the role, Bhagnani said, "Honestly, not at all. When we approached Paresh sir with the script, he instantly connected with the story and the uniqueness of his character. He's always open to experimenting with roles that challenge him as an actor, and Nikita Roy offered exactly that."
Sharing his views about the response to the trailer, he said that the team has received appreciation not just from audiences, but from the industry as well.
"We wanted to create something that stays with the audience even after they leave the cinema hall. Nikita Roy isn't just a film you watch it's an experience that lingers. With its intense storyline, supernatural depth, and haunting visual world, it offers a gripping cinematic journey that blends suspense with emotional resonance," said Bhagnani.
Nikita Roy is produced under Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films and Nikita Pai Films Ltd., with release by Baweja Studios in association with Bliss Entertainment, Movies PTE Limited, and Karmic Films. Nikita Roy is slated for a nationwide theatrical release on 27th June 2025.

Sonakshi Sinha Recalls Chilling Encounter With A 'Harmless Ghost' At Home: 'I Froze...'
Last Updated: During promotions for her paranormal film Nikita Roy, Sonakshi Sinha opened up about a chilling real-life ghostly encounter at her home. After dazzling audiences in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi, actor Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up for the release of her upcoming paranormal film Nikita Roy. Fittingly, during promotions for the movie, Sonakshi shared an eerie real-life brush with the supernatural — one that shook her long-held disbelief in ghosts. In a candid chat with Bollywood Hungama, Sonakshi revealed that until recently, she didn't believe in ghosts or paranormal phenomena at all. But one unsettling incident at her own home left her questioning everything. 'I used to not believe. I used to not believe at all," she said. 'But one day, something very weird happened to me in my house. Since then, I've been a little shaken. But after that, nothing happened, so I thought, maybe it was a dream? It was a harmless ghost — possibly." The encounter took place around 4 am, while she was in that blurry state between sleep and wakefulness. 'I was in that stage where your eyes are shut but your mind is alert," she explained. 'Suddenly, I felt this pressure, like someone was trying to wake me up. I was terrified. I just froze. I didn't open my eyes. I couldn't move. I stayed like that till morning — I didn't open my eyes until the lights came on. It really shook me up." The experience left such a strong impression that Sonakshi even spoke out loud to the mysterious entity the next night, hoping to ward off any future visits. 'When I came home the next night, it was late again. I peeked in first, then said very loudly: 'Jo bhi aaya tha kal raat ko, phirse aise mat karo. Main bohot darr gayi thi. Agar kuch baat karni hai toh mere sapne mein aana… no face-to-face conversation.' And then I walked in. I swear, since then, nothing like that has happened again." Earlier this year, Sonakshi also made headlines for selling her plush Bandra home for Rs 22.5 crore — though no ghosts were reportedly included in the deal. Sonakshi Sinha's brother, Kush Sinha breaks silence on not attending Sonakshi-Zarheer's wedding, 'There has been a misunderstanding...'
In the glitzy and glamorous world of showbiz, every step and every move of celebrities is scrutinised. Whether it is their red carpet appearance, post-gym paparazzi, or their wedding, they are also under the radar of the public eye. One such similar tale happened when actress Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot last year on June 23rd. But besides the clips of their intimate wedding going viral, people were also quick to notice the guest list of the wedding. Among the whispers, many people claimed that Sonakshi Sinha's brother, Kush Sinha, did not attend the wedding because he was allegedly unhappy with her decision. Rumours of her father, Shatrughan Sinha, not attending also circulated. However, not only did he attend the wedding, but he also blessed the couple. But now, after almost a year of their marriage, when Kush Sinha is all geared up for his directorial debut with the upcoming film Nikita Roy, which stars his sister Sonakshi in the lead role, he has finally addressed the issue and set the record straight. In an interview, Kush has revealed that this was a misunderstanding and expressed his love for Sonakshi. 'There has been a misunderstanding since last year. She is my sister. I was fully present at her wedding. I don't know who spread the rumour that I was not there.' Kush further spoke about the love and affection he has for Sonakshi 'I love my sister very much! All I can say is that all this was misinformation. She has always been very nice. Lootera was her second or third film, but Sonakshi did a great job in it. Vikramaditya Motwane had a big contribution to it. But there is something special in Sonakshi.' He further clarified why he chose Sonakshi for the lead role 'That's why I wanted to work with her in Nikita Roy. An actress who is willing to put in those feelings, who is willing to look gritty. In my mind, there were very few actresses who could do it.' Nikita Roy also features Paresh Rawal and Arjun Rampal. It is all set to hit the theatres on June 27.
