Sonakshi Sinha Recalls Chilling Encounter With A 'Harmless Ghost' At Home: 'I Froze...'
Last Updated:
During promotions for her paranormal film Nikita Roy, Sonakshi Sinha opened up about a chilling real-life ghostly encounter at her home.
After dazzling audiences in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi, actor Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up for the release of her upcoming paranormal film Nikita Roy. Fittingly, during promotions for the movie, Sonakshi shared an eerie real-life brush with the supernatural — one that shook her long-held disbelief in ghosts.
In a candid chat with Bollywood Hungama, Sonakshi revealed that until recently, she didn't believe in ghosts or paranormal phenomena at all. But one unsettling incident at her own home left her questioning everything. 'I used to not believe. I used to not believe at all," she said. 'But one day, something very weird happened to me in my house. Since then, I've been a little shaken. But after that, nothing happened, so I thought, maybe it was a dream? It was a harmless ghost — possibly."
The encounter took place around 4 am, while she was in that blurry state between sleep and wakefulness. 'I was in that stage where your eyes are shut but your mind is alert," she explained. 'Suddenly, I felt this pressure, like someone was trying to wake me up. I was terrified. I just froze. I didn't open my eyes. I couldn't move. I stayed like that till morning — I didn't open my eyes until the lights came on. It really shook me up."
The experience left such a strong impression that Sonakshi even spoke out loud to the mysterious entity the next night, hoping to ward off any future visits. 'When I came home the next night, it was late again. I peeked in first, then said very loudly: 'Jo bhi aaya tha kal raat ko, phirse aise mat karo. Main bohot darr gayi thi. Agar kuch baat karni hai toh mere sapne mein aana… no face-to-face conversation.' And then I walked in. I swear, since then, nothing like that has happened again."
Earlier this year, Sonakshi also made headlines for selling her plush Bandra home for Rs 22.5 crore — though no ghosts were reportedly included in the deal.

Acting on a complaint, the officials had reportedly conducted an inspection of the bungalow to verify if any construction had been undertaken without necessary permissions. A senior official said, "Our team inspected the site after receiving a complaint. The inspection was conducted to assess whether any renovation or expansion activity around the property had breached CRZ guidelines, which are intended to prevent unauthorised development in environmentally sensitive coastal areas. While the renovation at Mannat is underway, the actor, along with his family Gauri Khan, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan, has moved to lavish duplex apartments in Pali Hill. The show began with Kapil's trademark comic timing, and he didn't waste any time poking fun at Sidhu's return. 'I want to thank Netflix for giving us that much budget that we could afford Sidhu paaji," he quipped. Kapil warmly welcomed Sidhu back to his iconic chair, hinting at the political undercurrents behind his reappearance by joking that it was a coalition of sorts that made this comeback possible. He later clarified that his own film commitments had also played a role in the postponement. While the spotlight was on Kapil's upcoming films, Archana Puran Singh shared that she, too, had been busy—managing her vlogs. This led Kapil to make another playful jab, claiming that her vlogs were just a clever excuse to let her family dine out for free. In a classic Kapil punchline, he quipped that her food videos were more fraud than vlog, triggering laughs from the audience. He went further, teasing that when restaurants don't recognize her celebrity status, Archana tries to get discounts by name-dropping her husband, actor Parmeet Sethi, known for his role in Dilwale Dulhania Le to a report by , Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was last seen as a regular fixture on The Kapil Sharma Show between 2018 and 2020, had earlier earned a hefty sum of Rs 25 crore for a total of 125 episodes. This translated to an average payout of approximately Rs 20 lakh per episode during that period. However, with his recent return to the show on a digital platform, industry sources suggest that his remuneration has seen a significant upswing. Since the new season on Netflix airs only one episode per week, Sidhu is reportedly commanding a far higher fee than before. Current estimates place his per-episode salary in the range of Rs 30 to Rs 40 lakh, signaling a dramatic increase from his previous earnings. This surge in his compensation reflects both the exclusivity of the OTT format and Sidhu's continued popularity among audiences.
