A peregrine falcon chick that hatched in Glasgow has died after contracting bird flu two months after hatching.
Glasgow Peregrine Project confirmed that the chick, named Jack, died on Wednesday.
The young falcon, named after the character from TV comedy Still Game, hatched on top of the University of Glasgow tower in April alongside his brother Victor.

After noticing his condition deteriorating, a rescue project saw the chick lifted from his nest to receive medical treatment.
Scottish SPCA determined it was likely that Jack had contracted bird flu and said he needed to be put down to 'ease his suffering'.
Followers of the project commented, saying they had seen Jack 'struggling and suffering'.
Parents Bonnie and Clyde have nested on the university's rooftop since 2022.
Glasgow Peregrine Project said they are continuing to monitor the family, adding that Victor, Bonnie and Clyde seem unaffected.
It urged anyone who sighted the birds or had any significant observations to get in touch. Glasgow Peregrine Project Jack and Victor hatched on April, 27. Glasgow Peregrine Project
A spokesperson for the project said: 'It is with sadness that we must report that after pulling out all the stops and effecting a rescue, Jack has passed away.
'The UoG and the entire project team have monitored him throughout the night and worked throughout the day to put the rescue plan in place. Work that would ordinarily be done in a month was done in a day to expedite Jack's care.
'The SSPCA assessed Jack and deemed that he had likely contracted Bird Flu and, sadly, had to put him down to ease his suffering.
'Given this circumstance, we will continue round the clock monitoring of the entire family. Your sightings and any significant observations would be greatly appreciated.'

Huge Coronation Street star quits soap and exit has already aired

One Coronation Street star's departure from the ITV soap has been confirmed after two years on the cobbles - and his final scenes have already aired on screen Coronation Street star Jack Carroll, known for his role as Bobby Crawford on the ITV soap, has left the show after two years - and fans have already seen his final scenes. The 26-year-old, who previously starred on ITV's Britain's Got Talent, joined the soap in 2023 as the nephew of Carla Connor, and the secret son of Rob Donovan. ‌ Last year, fans were left puzzled regarding the whereabouts of the character with some believing he had secretly quit the show then. ‌ He featured quite heavily in the soap earlier in the year and then suddenly disappeared with no mention of where he was. It's now been confirmed that Bobby has made his exit from the soap, although the door has been left open for a return. A source told The Mirror: "Bobby has had a dramatic couple of years on the cobbles, but the time has come to bid farewell. Actor Jack enjoyed his time on the soap, but it's time to move on. Viewers won't see the character exit the street as he's already left, with Jack filming his final scenes some time ago." "The door has been left open for Jack should he wish to come back to the show in the future. With his Aunty Carla there, Bobby will always have a place in Weatherfield." The character was last seen in the soap last month when he headed off to Spain to visit Simon Barlow. The trip came after he was accused of being Lauren Bolton's blackmailer. ‌ During his time on the cobbles, Jack's character Bobby was involved in a number of hard hitting storylines, including his shock reveal that he was killer Rob Donovan's secret son. His aunty Carla took him under her wing, but was left reeling when she found out Bobby had planned to help Rob escape after he had kidnapped her. Jack's exit follows a number of departures of young actors from the soap. Recently, Colson Smith left the soap after his character Craig Tinker was killed on the line of duty. Luca Toolan also departed the soap after his character Mason Radcliffe was stabbed and killed. Charlotte Jordan, who played Daisy Midgley also left the soap earlier this year as she left for Bali.

Now Still Game fans can catch a glimpse of their favourite grumpy man all over again - as he's been painted on a wall next to Queen Street. Local artist Tef captured the telly pensioner's signature grimace in a piece that has been praised by punters and co-stars alike. He shared a video of his work on social media with the caption "Stevieee" - a nod to Winston's comical rivalry with Stevie the bookie, played by Matt Costello. Gavin Mitchell, 60, who plays Bobby the Barman, was quick to praise the mural. He posted a series of emojis to signify the famous "two prints p***k" catchphrase that's synonymous with the series. One fan said: "Love this!! We need an Isa one next." Another supporter wrote: "This is class - we need the full set." A dedicated viewer added: "Looks like the face he's making when he's on the back of the bus in the Dial-a-Bus episode." And an impressed follower quipped: "My dog is named after Winston. "I need to find this so I can take a picture of it with my dog." Still Game star Paul Riley's showreel ahead of stand-up tour Sadly vandals defaced the mural shortly after it was completed. Terf hit headlines last month when he painted another mural of a comedy character. He paid tribute to comic Brian 'Limmy' Limond by spraying his sketch show character Dee-Dee onto the side of a building next to Yoker Ferry. It's a nod to a popular episode of the programme where he goes on a mysterious adventure to the Glasgow district.

Actor and comedian Jack, 26, who lives with cerebral palsy, joined the soap back in October 2023 as Bobby Crawford, the secret son of killer Rob Donovan, and nephew of Carla Connor. "I hope Bobby brings viewers a lot of laughs in the vein of some of the street's classic comedy characters." But The Sun can reveal that Jack filmed his final scenes back in March, with his low-key exit airing on screen last month after his storyline came to a natural end. In scenes that played out on the 12th May, Bobby decided to fly out to Spain for a last minute holiday after close friend Lauren Bolton accused him of being her blackmailer. He told his aunt Carla, actress Alison King, that he would be joining Simon Barlow on his travels. Simon Barlow actor Alex Bain was also axed by bosses and left the soap last year. A Corrie source said: 'Jack loved his time on the cobbles but it came to a natural end for now. 'He did 18 months on the street and loved every minute of it. 'His exit was very low-key and even the viewers didn't realise his last minute holiday to Spain would be a permanent move. 'Jack wanted to go quietly and not make a fuss. Jack Carroll on Britain's Got Talent 'The door is very much open for him to return in future storylines.' Jack shot to fame at 14 when he was the runner up on the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent in 2014. Coronation Street's 2024 shock exits Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let's break down who's left the famous soap: Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany. The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the £10,000 bribe Eliza's grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life. Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes. After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite was devastated to learn he only had months left to live. Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering. Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America. Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paul's impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full. Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles. The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend. Simon's been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy. Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child. It looks likely she'll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind. Show stalwart Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end. Her character left the Street after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. His stand up comedy routine was a hit with the judges and viewers alike and he went on to appear on Saturday Night at the London Palladium, Jason Manford's Funny Old Week and Live At the Apollo as well as completing his first national live tour. Since filming his Corrie exit Jack has been busy with a new podcast, Love int North, which celebrates the most northern love stories.
