Aasif Sheikh and Geetanjali Mishra on how Yoga changed the lives of these actors

Yoga has long been a source of balance and healing for many, offering a path to physical, emotional, and mental well-being. On this International Yoga Day, artists share how this ancient practice has positively impacted their lives, hoping to inspire others to embrace its benefits. These include Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan) and Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Geetanjali Mishra, who plays Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, "Yoga has been a transformative force in my life, especially during emotionally trying times. I used to battle stress-induced overeating, particularly after demanding shooting schedules. Introducing Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend) into my routine helped soothe my nervous system and curb emotional cravings. Another go-to for me is Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (Alternate Nostril Breathing), which acts like a reset button, instantly calming and grounding. These practices have brought mindfulness into my life, helping me become more attuned to my body and emotions. To me, yoga is more than just physical exercise; it's a powerful form of therapy that nurtures inner well-being." Aasif Sheikh, who portrays Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, adds, "In our line of work, mental and emotional balance is as important as physical fitness. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Dividend Stocks With Strong Ratings Seeking Alpha Read Now Undo Yoga has been my anchor in this fast-paced world. Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) helps me stay grounded amidst the chaos, especially during long shoots. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) has strengthened my posture and boosted my energy; it's my daily power-up. I never skip Anulom Vilom, even while travelling; I practice it during my hour-long commute to shoots. It clears my mind and keeps me stress-free. After meals, I sit in Vajrasana for ten minutes to aid digestion; it's incredibly effective. These simple practices have made me calmer, sharper, and more emotionally resilient. For me, yoga is my silent strength, both on and off the screen." Bhabiji Ghar Pe Hain! actor Aasif Sheikh says, "An ideal Budget is one that doesn't burn a hole in a common man's pocket."

McDonald 's is about to face a boycott soon. McDonald's is facing criticism as The People's Union USA calls for a nationwide boycott from June 24. The People's Union USA is encouraging Americans to boycott the Golden Arches as part of its ongoing " Economic Resistance " campaign. McDonald's is expected to become the latest company to be boycotted by a group that supports "economic resistance" as a strategy for achieving corporate accountability and "real justice for the working class,' as per a report by Newsweek. As part of its ongoing "Economic Blackout Tour," the group that started the Target and Walmart boycotts, The People's Union USA, is encouraging Americans to reconsider where and how they spend. The People's Union USA, is asking Americans not to shop at the restaurant chain from June 24 to June 30. The People's Union USA calls for a nationwide boycott, citing low wages, tax avoidance, and corporate accountability. Their goal is to encourage large corporations to treat employees fairly and pay their taxes. Live Events The boycotts are spearheaded by The People's Union USA, which is characterized on its website as "a grassroots movement dedicated to economic resistance, corporate accountability, and genuine justice for the working class." Since February, the group has organized boycotts against Amazon, Walmart, and Target, alongside intermittent "economic blackouts," during which it advocates for Americans to "eschew shopping, streaming, online orders, fast food, and all intermediaries" and to exclusively patronize small, local companies, as per a report by Newsweek. ALSO READ: CNN staff in panic as they brace for shake-up under new boss amid spinoff rumors and budget cuts The McDonald's boycott has garnered less attention compared to the efforts against Walmart, Amazon, and Target, the latter of which The People's Union USA's founder, John Schwarz asserted should endure a "permanent boycott" to experience "the full power of the people." Why is McDonald's being targeted? The pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement has been waging a boycott against McDonald's since late 2023 on the grounds that it was complicit in the Israeli military's actions in the Gaza Strip. Earlier this year, The People's Union USA disseminated a list of principal issues regarding each targeted corporation on its website, primarily focused on tax evasion, labor conditions, and overarching monopolistic practices. McDonald's was listed for "tax avoidance and known lobbying against wage increases," concerns that have garnered substantial criticism and legal repercussions for the firm in recent years. Target, Walmart, and Amazon are all suffering the effects of economic resistance, according to John Schwarz, founder of The People's Union USA. "To lessen the burden on American workers, my friends, we are fighting for big businesses to finally pay their due share of federal income taxes," he stated. He asserted that they are also working for these corporations to hold themselves and manufacturers to equality and a realistic profit margin cap. Why have there been so many boycotts in 2025? As a result of some companies reversing their diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, as well as a broader backlash against practices like tax evasion and underpaying employees, the first half of 2025 has seen boycotts of a number of well-known businesses. FAQs Why is McDonald's boycotted? The boycott is intended to protest McDonald's policies on low wages, tax avoidance, and corporate accountability. How long will the boycott continue? The boycott is scheduled from June 24 to 30, with additional economic resistance campaigns planned throughout the summer.

Shark Tank India's Namita Thapar says ‘70-hour workweek gives no wealth'. Urges professionals to invest in these 6 things instead

In a world obsessed with hustle culture, where longer hours are often equated with success, Shark Tank India judge and Emcure Pharmaceuticals executive director Namita Thapar is urging professionals to rethink what they're really investing in. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Thapar took to LinkedIn to share a refreshingly honest take on wellness and productivity—and it's striking a chord with thousands. Thapar pointed out how much time we spend trying to get better at work: 'updating skills, reading books, and listening to podcasts.' While she acknowledged the value in that, she stressed that these aren't enough. According to her, the real game-changer is something most of us overlook—investing in our health through yoga. She wrote, 'That 70-hour work week gives you no wealth, just bad health & a body full of pains & aches.' Instead, Thapar emphasised that yoga helps you build a stronger body and a stiller, calmer mind—both of which are essential for not just work productivity but also happiness in personal life. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like New 3BHK Flats In Langgam:(Take A Look At Prices) Apartments | Search Ads Search Now Undo Citing her own experience, she called yoga the 'easiest to implement' wellness practice—you only need a mat and a little space at home.
