Diana Penty opens up about 12-year live-in relationship with boyfriend Harsh Sagar: ‘In my head I'm married'
Actor Diana Penty recently shared rare insights into her long-standing relationship with partner, diamond merchant Harsh Sagar, revealing why the couple isn't rushing into marriage despite being together for over a decade. In a candid interview with Hauterrfly, Diana addressed the subject of marriage, saying that while they're open to the idea, there's no urgency to make it official.
'Yes, I am not single. I will not go on a rooftop and shout about it, but my partner and I have been together for 12 years, and we've known each other for 22 years, which is half of my life. So even though I am not married, in my head I am. It's the same thing because you're respecting the relationship in the same way," the actor said.
The Cocktail star added that their families are supportive and not putting any pressure on them to tie the knot, prioritising their happiness over formalities.
'Both our families are very chill, and they respect what we have. Their priority is our happiness. It's not like we don't like the concept of marriage, but we live together, have a dog together, everybody knows we are together, so there's no rush. It's pretty much like being married, just that it's not on paper, and it makes no difference to me or him,' she added.
Diana made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with the hit romantic comedy Cocktail, starring alongside Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan. Since then, she's built a diverse filmography with films like Happy Bhag Jayegi, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, Azaad, and Chhaava
Diana is currently sharing the screen with Diljit Dosanjh in Detective Sherdil, which released on Zee 5 on 20 June. Written by Sagar Bajaj, Ravi Chhabriya, and Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is Ali's second collaboration with Diljit after Jogi. Detective Sherdil features an ensemble cast, including Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Chunky Panday, Ratna Pathak Shah, Sumeet Vyas, and Banita Sandhu.

Diana Penty says she was dropped from Rockstar after workshops, later bagged Cocktail
Actor Diana Penty was initially approached for 'Rockstar' (2011) before the role ultimately went to her contemporary Nargis Fakhri. She was speaking in an interview when she said she had even started training for the Imtiaz Ali directorial but was dropped after two to three weeks of workshops. Interestingly, the role went to Diana when she was still working as a model and had not done any 39-year-old was in a conversation with Hauterfly when she shared how she landed her first film 'Cocktail' (2012). She recalled her early days in the industry and said, "I was in New York, modelling, and I got a call from my agency. She said, "I never had the confidence that I could be an actor one day. I never believed that I would ever be able to pull it off." This is when the director encouraged her to attend workshops, she shared. "After 2–3 weeks he said, 'Look, I can see you have come a long way and I've seen a lot of improvement, but I still don't feel you are ready to play the character in 'Rockstar'. Maybe, it is too soon for you," reminisced Diana. She added that the shooting was about to begin in a month or so, and even she felt that she wasn't ready. "I was kind of relieved because I didn't feel confident. So I went back to New York and continued with my modelling," she year later, Diana received a call for 'Cocktail' and got to know the script of the film was written by Imtiaz. Interestingly, it was Imtiaz who suggested 'Cocktail' director Dinesh Vijan that she would be perfect for the role of Meera. She also remembered receiving a confirmation call just 24 hours after her audition. 'Cocktail' went on to become the biggest film of Diana Penty's career. The film, a love triangle featuring Diana, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan, was a massive box office hit and garnered critical acclaim.

Although it's been almost a decade since he officially became an Indian citizen, renowned singer-composer Adnan Sami is still frequently reminded that he was born a Pakistani. From subtle taunts to direct personal attacks on social media, he continues to face criticism in various forms. Yet, Adnan has never missed an opportunity to express how proud he is to be an Indian, with his reaction to the Pahalgam terror attack serving as a strong example. In a recent interview, he opened up about the hatred he receives for renouncing his Pakistani citizenship and embracing Indian identity. He likened the criticism to a situation where a person, who is jealous of a former partner moving on and finding happiness, begins to badmouth them. He also dubbed it a form of love 'that manifests in an absurd way'. He shared during a chat with Bollywood Bubble, 'It's like an ex-lover. When an ex-lover sees you moving on and getting involved with somebody else, they'll always come up with reasons to hate you. Nonetheless, he noted that they are unaware of the circumstances that led him to make the decision. For the unversed, Adnan Sami was born in England and previously held both Pakistani and Canadian citizenship. He moved to India in 2001 and was granted citizenship in 2016. 'It is ridiculous for anyone from anywhere to presume that they know what the reasons were behind it. There were solid reasons. At the end of the day, you can argue and say, 'People are migrating all over the world all the time. Why don't they have issues with them?' First of all, because of the geopolitical nature between India and Pakistan, there is a rivalry between the two for whatever reason. But more than that, it is the ex-lover syndrome,' he claimed. Adnan Sami also pointed out that despite being a well-known artiste with numerous hits, the Pakistani government never acknowledged his work or honoured him in any way, thus turning a blind eye to his contributions. 'That's just the tip of the iceberg. However, let me make it very clear, my audience and people over there have always been very loving. And they still are, and I love them very much even today. I'm very grateful to them for all the love that they've given me.' He further maintained that his issues have always been with the Pakistani government, not the people, and particularly with how he was treated by those in power. 'For an artiste, the biggest nourishment is love. So, from whichever corner of the world they get that love, they will be very grateful for it. My music is for everybody. I have not put any boundaries on my music. You want to listen to it? Most welcome. You don't want to? Thanks for trying.'
