Nick Cox set to leave Man Utd academy role to become Everton technical director
The Toffees are in the midst of a restructure under the Friedkin Group ownership and have headhunted the Red Devils' director of academy for a role in their new set-up.
Cox is understood to have turned down a variety of other opportunities since moving to Old Trafford from Sheffield United in 2016, having received interest from Premier League, EFL and European clubs as well as governing bodies.

A succession plan is under way at United and PA understands he will remain in the post for the coming months to ensure a smooth transition before his amicable exit for Everton.
Cox was promoted to head of academy in 2019 and has helped overhaul United's fabled youth system, with the club winning the FA Youth Cup in 2022 as Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo starred.
A widely respected figure in youth development, 27 academy players made their United debut during his time as head of the youth system.
United have sold around £100million of homegrown talent in the last three years and sell-on clauses mean that figure is expected to rise.

Napoli are interested in signing another Manchester United star having enquired into a deal for Rasmus Hojlund. After a woeful second season in Manchester where he managed just four goals in 32 Premier League appearances, United are prepared to listen to offers for the Denmark international and make an upgrade up front ahead of the new campaign. Napoli haven also reached out to Hojlund's representatives with those conversations described as 'positive'. The striker is keen to work with Conte and play alongside the likes of Lukaku and summer signing Kevin de Bruyne – not to mention former United teammate Scott McTominay who has been an instant hit in Naples. While Inter are unable to provide the transfer fee United are looking for this summer, Napoli are in a better position to do so following the sale of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January. Napoli are looking at other options, also holding discussions to sign Darwin Nunez from Liverpool. An asking price of €70m is problematic however, with Hojlund also having the advantage of Serie A experience behind him. United and Napoli have good business relations following McTominay's move last summer with the Italian giants credited with firm interest in another Old Trafford star. After Chelsea decided against signing the former Borussia Dortmund star on a permanent deal, Napoli have emerged as favourites to sign him. Juventus are also keen but Sancho's preference is to join Conte's side, giving the move his approval this week. Napoli have also shown interest in Alejandro Garnacho, seeing a bid for the Argentina international rejected in January. While the winger is another who can leave United this summer, Napoli's interest in his services appears to have waned. Trawlerman triumph highlights fruitful Royal Ascot for Gosden team
Field Of Gold and Ombudsman had already produced sublime performances in the St James's Palace Stakes and Prince of Wales's Stakes respectively during the first two days of the Royal meeting, but the elusive Gold Cup victory for the Clarehaven team's staying stalwart rubber stamped a stellar five days. John Gosden said: 'It's been a terrific week and I think the highlight must be Trawlerman. he's been in the yard five years, he's by Golden Horn and he wears his heart on his sleeve. 'He's the most genuine horse and in his races he will do everything, but when you're with him in person he is a kind, sweet, gentle soul, and for him to run the race he did having coming second last year – what a fantastic result for the horse and for the sport.' Trawlerman won Thursday's Gold Cup (David Davies/PA) The Gosden team finished the week with five winners, the same number as O'Brien, but took the prize due to on extra silver medal they picked up through the week. Gosden Sr has previously won the award twice on his own and praised his son Thady after winning the award for a second time as a training partnership. John Gosden – who registered his 70th Royal Ascot winner this week – continued: 'Our week started very strongly with the right races and everyone working at home had the horses spot-on. 'They've run very well since, finishing second and third and second and third, and that of course counts towards winning this when you're at five winners all with Aidan O'Brien. 'Thady has been with me about eight years already – and the rest – so, poor chap, it must be getting a bit annoying! 'But there is nothing like this meeting, it's our Olympics, and it's great to win this. Without him I wouldn't be as on the ball at all. It's been a great combination.' Field Of Gold impressed on Tuesday (David Davies/PA) Reflecting on Field Of Gold's dazzling Group One victory which lit up the opening day of the fixture, he added: 'Field Of Gold is a horse who has just improved and improved and improved. 'His sire Kingman was a peerless miler, but he has shown the electric turn of foot his sire had. It was a great race with all three Guineas winners from north-western Europe in the same race. He is very exciting for Juddmonte and for all of us.' Ballydoyle handler O'Brien may have been thwarted in his quest for a fourth successive leading trainer prize, but his number one jockey Ryan Moore was out on his own as top rider for the 12th time. He capped yet another fine week in Berkshire with his seventh success of the meeting aboard Willie Mullins' Sober in the concluding Queen Alexandra Stakes to finish two clear of Oisin Murphy. Sober won the final race of the meeting for Ryan Moore (John Walton/PA) Moore said: 'It's great to ride seven winners, Aidan's horses were in great form all work, when you're riding for Aidan and Willie you're going to ride winners.' Both Coolmore and Wathnan Racing finished the week with five winners, but it was Coolmore who came out on top for the third year running on account of their superior record with placed horses. Coolmore's MV Magnier said: 'It means a lot to everyone. The guys and everyone put everything into this week, and for Aidan and Ryan to do such a good job, it's incredible. 'We're very grateful and we are very lucky to be here. We are very lucky to have the King and Queen present every day this week. It's a big deal for our business.'

Alexander Isak's stance on Liverpool transfer revealed with huge new fee set
Liverpool have not made any approach to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United with the striker not expected to demand an exit this summer. The Premier League champions have moved swiftly and decisively in the summer transfer window, immediately bringing in a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold in Jeremie Frimpong with Milos Kerkez expected to arrive from Bournemouth. Florian Wirtz sealed his move to Anfield on Friday night in the biggest deal in Premier League history, arriving for a fee that could rise to £116million. Liverpool's spending might not end there. Liverpool have made no contact with Newcastle at this stage – not even an informal enquiry.
