The first half of 2025 is about to end and it has been quite a decent period for Bollywood with a number of films performing well at the box office. With a massive collection of Rs 600 crore, Vicky Kaushal 's Chhaava has secured the first position as the highest-grosser and the year's biggest blockbuster. Now, Aamir Khan's latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, has also marked its place in the top 5 highest opening weekends of 2025.

Helmed by Laxman Utekar, the Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna starrer period action drama film opened with a massive collection of Rs. 31 crore. Its engaging narrative, strong performances and positive word-of-mouth led to a Rs. 116.50 crore weekend, as per sacnilk.com, making it the biggest opener of 2025. In the film, Vicky portrays Chhatrapthi Samhaji Maharaj.
Housefull 5
At number 2 is Akshay Kumar's 'killer comedy', Housefull 5, with a weekend collection of Rs 91.83 crore, according to the makers. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film opened to a whopping Rs 24.35 crores net in India, followed by Rs 32.38 crores and Rs 35.10 crores on Day 2 and Day 3. The film also featured celebs like Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa and Nargis Fakhri among others.
Sikandar
Despite negative reviews, Salman Khan's Sikandar claimed the third spot. Released on Eid 2025, according to sacnilk.com, the film collected Rs 26 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 29 crore and Rs 19.5 crore on Day 2 and Day 3, respectively, taking the film's total opening weekend collection to Rs 74.5 crore.
Sky Force
Next up is Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's acclaimed action thriller, Sky Force. Released on the occasion of Republic Day 2026, the film opened to Rs 12.25 crore. The positive word-of-mouth and power-packed performances by the star cast helped the film collect Rs 62.5 crore in three days.
Sitaare Zameen Par
With a massive collection of Rs 26.57 crore on Day 3, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Sitaare Zameen Par has now made it to the top 5 highest opening weekends of 2025. The film opened to just Rs 10.70 on day 1 and showcased remarkable growth over the weekend by taking the film's 3-day collection to Rs 57.30 crore.
In the coming months, films like Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2, Dhanush's Tere Ishk Mein, Alia Bhatt's Alpha, Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2, Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 3, Ayushmann Khurrana's Thama and others holds potential to beat the opening weekend collection of these films.

The film failed to touch even double digits on its first Monday despite the wave of positive feedback from audiences. The total domestic collection of the film now stands at ₹ 66.42 crore. Despite the major dip, the film has already surpassed the domestic haul of Aamir Khan's previous release, Laal Singh Chaddha, which collected ₹ 61.36 crore. In terms of worldwide earnings, the film has collected ₹ 95.75 crore in just three days and is heading towards the ₹ 100 crore mark. The film has also received praise from the industry. The Madras High Court has issued a notice to actor-producer Nani, director Sailesh Kolanu, and the film's team following a plagiarism petition filed by writer to a report by 123telugu, Vimalavelan claimed he had narrated a story idea to Nani and was later shocked to see 'HIT 3' bear similarities to it. Acting on his claim, the Madras High Court has issued a notice to the film's team, directing them to respond to the plagiarism allegations by July 7, other reports suggest that Vimalavelan claims the script in question was registered with the South Indian Film Writers' Association on August 4, 2021. He reportedly submitted the synopsis to Nani on August 8, 2022, hoping for a collaboration, but received no response.
