Jordan Hudson Wanted Partial Ownership of Hard Knocks of Bill Belichick at UNC

Yahoo21-05-2025

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was hired by UNC to coach the football program. Not long after his hiring, NFL Films was rumored to be interested in filming Hard Knocks for the UNC football team. However, the plans were cancelled for an unknown reason until a recent report.
According to a report by Katherine Rosman of The New York Times, Jordon Hudson was a major breaking point for UNC's Hard Knocks.

Rosman wrote, "But days before they were set to announce the series, Ms. Hudson demanded she be granted content approval and partial ownership of the show."
Hard Knocks for UNC would've covered Belichick in his efforts to build the UNC football program leading up to the 2025 college football season. But Hudson's desire for control over parts of the production ended NFL Films' plans for Hard Knocks at UNC.

The relationship between Belichick and Hudson has been at the front page of headlines for the past few months since their relationship has continued to develop. In Rosman's story, she mentions that Hudson told someone that she and Belichick are engaged.

But her involvement in Belichick's life has drawn scrutiny. While Belichick has defended her at every turn, this new report sheds light on more of the drama surrounding their relationship.
After NFL Films stopped their plans for production, they learned that Hudson was also undertaking different negotiations. Rosman wrote, "Ms. Hudson was also in negotiations with another production company, EverWonder, to make a similar series..."
Not only did Hudson want control over the production of NFL Films' Hard Knocks, but she was also negotiating with a different production company for a similar premise.
Despite HBO green-lighting the production of NFL Films' Hard Knocks at UNC, the involvement of Hudson put a stop to the announcement and production.

NC State coach Will Wade blasts ‘dumb' North Carolina for Ven-Allen Lubin usage

The post NC State coach Will Wade blasts 'dumb' North Carolina for Ven-Allen Lubin usage appeared first on ClutchPoints. The new NC State men's basketball coach is already causing a stir on Tobacco Road. Advertisement Will Wade took a shot at the Wolfpack's rival, North Carolina, in a video that surfaced on social media over the weekend. He was talking about incoming transfer Ven-Allen Lubin, a forward who played just under 20 minutes per game for the Tar Heel last year. 'The other school was too dumb to play him,' Wade said to a group of NC State fans in the video. 'When [Lubin] plays 28-plus minutes — he's done that in 23 games — he averages 15 [points] and eight [rebounds]. I don't know why the hell they didn't play him, but we're gonna play him. So he's gonna average 15 and eight. We're very excited about Ven.' When he suits up for NC State basketball, Lubin will be on his fourth school in as many years. He averaged 8.7 points and 5.5 rebounds for UNC last year, and as Wade pointed out, he showed an ability to connect from three while at Vanderbilt, his second stop. He shot 33% from distance in 2023-24 but did not attempt a three-point shot during his season in Chapel Hill. Advertisement 'We're thrilled to welcome Ven-Allen to our program,' Wade said in a release when the school announced Lubin's arrival. 'Physically, he stands out with a wingspan over seven feet and a strong, powerful frame. Offensively, he creates mismatches — he can score over smaller defenders in the post and has the quickness to drive past bigger ones. He also showed the ability while at Vanderbilt to step out and be a weapon from three-point range and we'll look to build off of that. Wade also pointed to Lubin's efficiency. He shot 68% from the field last season on 5.3 attempts per game. 'He's an incredibly efficient scorer, having led his team in field goal percentage each of his first three college seasons,' he continued. 'Beyond that, he has a high basketball IQ and will be a tremendous presence in our locker room.' NC State and North Carolina are only scheduled to play each other once in 2025-26, in Raleigh. Two UNC quarterbacks earn prestigious offseason camp invites

UNC's two starting quarterback candidates will spend their summers at a exclusive academy. The North Carolina Tar Heels enter their 2025 football season with plenty of hype, but also without a clear-cut answer at starting quarterback. UNC began 2024 with Max Johnson, but he broke his leg in the opener at Minnesota. North Carolina then started Conner Harrell for a few games, but Jacolby Criswell quickly took over after proving to be more effective. The Tar Heels were extremely active in the transfer portal, adding talented South Alabama quarterback Gio Lopez. There's no telling yet whether Johnson or Lopez earns the starting nod, but a quarterback competition is certainly brewing in Chapel Hill. As Johnson and Lopez continue competing for North Carolina's QB1 spot, they recently received some exciting news, with both earning invites to the prestigious Manning Passing Academy from June 26-29. If the name doesn't give it away, the Manning Passing Academy is run by – you guessed it – Peyton, Eli and Archie Manning. Peyton is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Eli won two Super Bowls against Tom Brady and Archie is their dad. Johnson brought four seasons of experience as an SEC starting quarterback into Chapel Hill, so he gives UNC the more experienced option. Lopez thrived during 2024, his first year as South Alabama's starter: 2,559 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, 465 rushing yards and seven additional scores on the ground. It's a pretty big deal for quarterbacks to receive Manning Passing Academy invites. North Carolina is in big need of consistent quarterback production this coming fall – are Johnson and Lopez ready to step up? North Carolina Reacts to Bill Belichick Announcement

North Carolina Reacts to Bill Belichick Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There's a lot of excitement surrounding the North Carolina Tar Heels, as head coach Bill Belichick is looking to come in and improve the program after it went 6-7 last year. He has not won a bowl game since 2019. Advertisement The expectations are high considering that during his time in the NFL, Belichick established himself as one of the greatest coaches in league history. Further, on Wednesday, he was named to ESPN's "NFL All Quarter Century team." It's certainly an impressive honor as the list comprises a total of 53 players and four coaches, all selected based on their production since 2000. It even drew a reaction from North Carolina, which commemorated the achievement with its own X post, captioned, "Congratulations to @Belichick_B on being selected as Head Coach of the @espn NFL All Quarter Century Team!" It's unsurprising to see Belichick chosen to represent the head coach spot, as he dominated in his 24 years with the New England Patriots (2000-2023), winning AP Coach of the Year three times. Advertisement During that time, he accumulated a 266-121 regular season record, went 30-12 in playoff matchups and helped guide the Patriots to nine Super Bowl appearances, winning six of them, which is the most for a head coach in NFL history. It also won't be the last time Belichick is recognized for his impact in the NFL, as he's eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026, where he is likely to be a first-ballot selection.
