are once again accessible in France as a French court temporarily suspended a government decree that would have required EU-based pornographic platforms to implement stringent
age verification
measures. France had been rolling out new regulations this year, mandating that all adult websites verify users' ages through methods like credit card details or ID documents. The primary goal of these measures was to prevent minors from accessing explicit content.
However, the Paris administrative tribunal on Monday put the government decree on hold, pending an investigation into its compatibility with broader European Union legislation, news agency AFP reported. It is to be noted that the French government has already signaled its intent to appeal this decision to the Council of State, the country's highest administrative court.

, the Cyprus-based owner of the three platforms, welcomed the decree's suspension as an "opportunity to reconsider more efficient approaches" to age verification. Earlier in June, Aylo had made its websites unavailable in France as a form of protest against the decree. Non-compliance could have led to significant penalties, including fines or website blocking.
Aylo has consistently argued that the mandated age verification mechanism is not only ineffective but also poses an unacceptable security risk by exposing users' sensitive data to potential hacks or leaks.

Over 650 Iranian Military Personnel, Civilians Killed In Israeli Strikes
Tehran: A US-based NGO said Friday that Israel's strikes against Iran have killed at least 657 people including civilians and members of the security forces, a toll based on sources and reports in Iran. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said that at least 263 civilians had been killed nationwide since Israel began its strikes on June 13. Among these, it said it had verified the identities of more than 20 children who have been killed, mostly in Tehran. It added that 164 members of the military had also been killed. The overall death toll includes 230 people who HRANA was unable to determine whether they were civilians or members of the security forces. It publishes dozens of reports a day, outlining human rights violations inside Iran. Israel said its campaign was aimed at halting Tehran from obtaining an atomic bomb, an ambition Iran denies having. Iranian authorities said Sunday that Israeli strikes had killed at least 224 people, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians. It has not issued an updated toll since then. Iranian strikes launched in response have also caused damage in Israel, where at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds wounded, according to the authorities.

Won't share Indus waters with other states: Omar
JAMMU: Days after Union home minister Amit Shah declared that Indus waters will be taken to Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar through canals within three years, J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday opposed sharing such flows with other states. 'I will never allow this (divert water from J&K to other states). Let's use our water for ourselves first,' Omar said when asked about the Centre's proposal for a 113-km canal to redirect surplus waters from Indus, Jhelum and Chenab to Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Shah had announced the canal plan in Madhya Pradesh's Pachmarhi on June 14 against the backdrop of the Centre putting Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan 'in abeyance' in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam attack. Speaking on the sidelines of an outreach office's inauguration in Jammu on Friday, Omar made it clear that he would not allow any proposal to build a canal and divert surplus water to other states. 'I am not going to give approval. Let us be allowed to use our water first, then we will talk about others,' the J&K chief minister said.
