Barcelona Chief Sends Blunt Message to Newcastle United, PSG Target Amid Transfer Rumors

Yahoo4 hours ago

PSG have a big decision to make—and clubs like Inter Milan and Manchester United are paying close attention. Is Gianluigi Donnarumma still the long-term solution in goal?
The Italian goalkeeper is under contract until 2026, but interest from top European clubs is starting to grow. Since arriving from AC Milan in 2021, Donnarumma has delivered in key moments, especially in penalty shootouts and high-pressure situations. Still, his time in Paris hasn't been perfect.

One moment that continues to haunt him is the costly mistake against Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League, which raised doubts about his reliability in the biggest games.
Now that PSG have finally conquered Europe, the focus shifts to what comes next. Donnarumma's recent form has reaffirmed his spot as the club's No. 1, but with just over a year left on his deal, other teams are circling in case contract talks stall.
Could Barcelona sell Newcastle United, PSG targetIf an extension doesn't come together soon, PSG may have to consider a summer sale to avoid losing him for free.

As for replacements, BILD has linked PSG to Marc-André ter Stegen if he ends up leaving Barcelona. Other clubs reportedly interested in Donnarumma include AC Milan, Manchester City, Juventus, and Newcastle United.
While speaking to La Vanguardia, Barcelona's sporting director Deco commented on the future of ter Stegen.
'I don't need to speak with ter Stegen,' Deco said. 'My job is to build the best possible squad for the coach, not deciding who plays. No contract guarantees anyone a starting spot. It's the coach who makes those decisions.'
However, SPORT has reported that Galatasaray have already made an offer for the 33-year-old, though Fichajes recently claimed that ter Stegen isn't planning to leave. According to that report, the German international believes Deco and Hansi Flick are trying to push him out.

Jonas Wind looking for new challenge as Wolfsburg contract extension 'impossible'

Jonas Wind looking for new challenge as Wolfsburg contract extension 'impossible' Jonas Wind is looking for a new challenge as a contract extension at VfL Wolfsburg remains 'almost impossible', according to Kicker. The 26-year-old striker currently has one year remaining on his current contract, but so far is reluctant to sign an extension at the Auto Club. Advertisement As per reports, there are currently no signs of any clubs interested in the Danish international. However, as per our reporting in March, a trio of Premier League clubs were previously monitoring the striker. One of those clubs was Wolves, who at the time were under now former boss Gary O'Neil. However, the West Midlands side will be in the market for a forward given the recent sale of Matheus Cunha to Manchester United. Wind had a lightning start to the 2024/25 season, but much like Wolfsburg themselves, the striker struggled for form in the second half of the campaign. Wind finished with nine goals and three assists in the Bundesliga last term. Should no offer come in for Wind this summer, it's likely that the player will run down his contract and leave as a free agent in 2026. GGFN | Jamie Allen

Only one of Dovbyk and Abraham will remain at Roma

Only one of Dovbyk and Abraham will remain at Roma Roma are rumored to be preparing for a mini revolution in the offensive department, with the fate of Tammy Abraham and Artem Dovbyk still to be written. Both forwards have closed seasons with inconsistent performances and, to date, their simultaneous stay in the capital seems complicated, both for technical and economic reasons. Advertisement The Englishman, returning from a lackluster loan at Milan, still has an expensive contract with the Giallorossi. The Ukrainian, signed for a large fee twelve months ago, has scored 17 goals but has not fully convinced in terms of performances. Now it will be up to Gian Piero Gasperini, recently made official on the Roma bench, to evaluate the possibilities of relaunching both. Gasperini had already shown interest in Abraham during his time at Atalanta, a sign that the coach values the player for his physical and athletic characteristics. Dovbyk, on the other hand, could reflect a profile more similar to that of Retegui. Advertisement The new coach will want to test both, but he is aware that the economic needs of the club could prevail over the technical choices. Ricky Massara is called upon to unblock the necessary exits to comply with UEFA agreements, in view of the closing of the budget set for June 30. The sale of Abraham, for example, would free up an important salary and allow for a useful capital gain, writes Il Tempo.

How to watch Seattle Sounders vs Paris Saint-Germain: TV channel and live stream for Club World Cup today

Paris Saint-Germain will close out their Club World Cup group stage campaign today, meeting the Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field. The Parisiens have had mixed fortunes in the United States, producing a formidable 4-0 win over ten-man Atletico Madrid in their opener before falling to a frustrated 1-0 loss to Botafogo. Advertisement Igor Jesus, reportedly set to join Nottingham Forest this summer, was the goalscorer in the Botafogo defeat. Luis Enrique, though, highlighted the efforts of their back-line as a defining factor in the result. 'Botafogo was the team that defended us best all season, obviously in our League and in the Champions League,' he said. 'They made a low block from the start and were very efficient, united. We didn't generate as many chances as usual.' The champions of Europe could not muster a response to his first-half strike, failing to convert any of their 16 shots, 10 corners, and 75% possession. Despite enjoying home pitch advantage for much of the competition, Seattle sit bottom of Group B with zero points. They are not yet eliminated, though, thanks to the middling fortunes of Atletico and PSG, and could still qualify with a win. Advertisement Goal difference is not an issue, either, as any win would see them surpass Atletico's tally of -2.
