UAE Delivers Vital Humanitarian Aid to Thousands in Hadhramaut, Eastern Yemen
The United Arab Emirates, through its humanitarian arm—the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC)—has launched a new wave of food aid distribution in Hadhramaut, eastern Yemen, benefiting nearly 15,000 individuals from vulnerable communities.
As part of the campaign, the ERC distributed 1,783 food parcels to sanitation and public works employees, with plans to expand the initiative to 2,977 parcels in the coming days. The aid targets low-income families and workers across several districts, including Mukalla, Al-Shihr, Al-Raydah, Qusay'ir, Ghayl Bawazir, and Brom Mayfa'a.
The campaign is being carried out in collaboration with the Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, aiming to enhance food security and ease economic hardship in a region grappling with prolonged instability.
Hamid Rashid Al Shamsi, ERC's representative in Hadhramaut, emphasized that the initiative reflects the UAE's ongoing commitment to supporting the Yemeni people, particularly amid worsening economic conditions.
Local officials and beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the UAE's continued support, highlighting the positive impact on essential workers who often go unrecognized despite their critical role in maintaining public services.
The UAE has maintained a long-standing presence in Hadhramaut, delivering aid across sectors such as healthcare, education, shelter, and economic empowerment, reinforcing its role as a key humanitarian partner in Yemen.

Al-Shaghdari inspects service projects in Damt, Al-Dhale'
Dhale' - Saba: Acting Governor of Al-Dhale', Abdul Latif Al-Shaghdari, inspected on Saturday the first-phase rehabilitation and maintenance project of the "Yareem-Damt-Marees" road, implemented at a cost of 400 million Yemeni riyals. Al-Shaghdari was briefed by the Director of the General Authority for Road Maintenance in Al-Dhale', Mohammed Al-Najjari, on the project's components, which the authority is executing with funding and supervision from the Road and Bridge Maintenance Fund. The maintenance work includes repairing road cracks and implementing water drainage and protection measures. Additionally, Al-Shaghdari reviewed the progress of Al-Ameriya School construction project, which is being implemented at a cost of 85 million riyals, funded by businessman Ahmed Al-Barti. The school consists of nine classrooms, along with facilities and teacher housing. The Acting Governor praised Al-Barti's role in establishing the school and called on businessmen to support similar service projects that benefit citizens and contribute to local development. Later, Al-Shaghdari inaugurated the "Nabdh Al-Hayat" Medical Center in Damt, which will provide medical services in internal medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, and obstetrics/gynecology. Foreign & Health Ministers meet WFP Envoy
Sana'a - SABA: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer and Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Al-Shibani met today with Abdullah Al-Wardat, Director of Partnerships with Donor Countries at the World Food Programme (WFP) in Rome and High-Level Envoy to Yemen. The meeting, attended by Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, saw Minister Amer welcome the envoy while stressing that the Foreign Ministry has facilitated the work of WFP's Sana'a office in the past. However, he noted that the office "unfortunately created problems for itself by reneging on agreements." Amer emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring WFP's operations in Yemen align with established standards and resolving pending issues to alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by aggression and blockade. For his part, Health Minister Al-Shibani highlighted a recent decline in strategic partnership with WFP, despite its critical role in life-saving projects across Yemen's governorates.
