Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin split: Sources are dropping more info on why the couple actually broke up

Cosmopolitan12-06-2025

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are over after eight (on-and-off) years together, and there's more information about about the why of it all. By which I mean sources are out here telling Page Six that Dakota "was sick of him dragging his feet on setting a date for the wedding."
Oh and another insider added that "They broke up over Chris Martin not wanting to have more kids," which falls in line with what a source told The Sun.
Ahem:
"They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem and she'd expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life but they discussed it... They made some beautiful memories as a family and it'll be hard for both of them to move on after such a long relationship but they will do it."
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail spoke to someone who claims Dakota and Chris' relationship has actually "been over for a long time, they just haven't been able to figure out to make it official."
"Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much," they explained. "Breakups aren't instant and they continued to breakup and makeup and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working because absence makes the heart grow fonder, but then they'd get back together and little things just kept adding up to where they weren't right for each other anymore. Dakota is devastated that she isn't going to be around his kids as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them."
Neither Dakota nor Chris have commented on their split, but they do seem to be amicable based on Chris shouting out his ex's new movie The Materialists.
Cosmopolitan UK contacted representatives for Dakota and Chris for comment.

Johnny Depp Says ‘I Was a Crash Test Dummy for #MeToo' and ‘I Didn't Feel Nervous' Facing Off Against Amber Heard in Court: ‘I'll Fight Until the Bitter F—ing End'

Johnny Depp called himself a 'crash test dummy for #MeToo' in a sprawling new interview with The Sunday Times as he sets out to promote the U.K. theatrical release of his latest directorial effort, 'Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness.' Depp was referring to the allegations first leveled at him in 2016 by ex-wife Amber Heard, who accused him of domestic violence when she filed for divorce. Heard's allegations notably fed into two trials that garnered global attention. Depp brought a libel lawsuit against The Sun in 2018 after the publication referred to him as a 'wife beater.' The trial kicked off in summer 2020 and ended with the court determining that the characterization of Depp as a 'wife beater' was 'substantially true.' Later in the year, Depp exited Warner Bros.' 'Fantastic Beasts' franchise after saying the studio asked him to resign from the role in the aftermath of the trial. The 2022 trial was live-streamed on YouTube and became an online sensation. The jury ultimately ruled that Heard did defame Depp in the op-ed, while also ruling Depp defamed Heard in the course of fighting back against her charges. Over the course of the trial, shocking details about Depp and Heard's personal lives were revealed. 'Look, it had gone far enough,' Depp told The Sunday Times about the viral 2022 trial. 'I knew I'd have to semi-eviscerate myself. Everyone was saying, 'It'll go away!' But I can't trust that. What will go away? The fiction pawned around the fucking globe? No it won't. If I don't try to represent the truth it will be like I've actually committed the acts I am accused of. And my kids will have to live with it. Their kids. Kids that I've met in hospitals. So the night before the trial in Virginia I didn't feel nervous. If you don't have to memorize lines, if you're just speaking the truth? Roll the dice.' Depp said he survived 'all the hit pieces, the bullshit' that accompanied the trial, adding: 'Look, none of this was going be easy, but I didn't care. I thought, 'I'll fight until the bitter fucking end.' And if I end up pumping gas? That's all right. I've done that before.' A few years after the end of the U.S. trial, Depp is now getting the chance to come back to Hollywood by starring opposite 'Blow' co-star Penelope Cruz in the Lionsgate action comedy 'Day Drinker.' He told the Times about his life: 'I have no regrets about anything — because, truly, what can we do about last week's dinner? Not a fucking thing.' 'Day Drinker' is scheduled to release in theaters sometime in 2026. Tammy Hembrow Divorcing Matt Zukowski After 7 Months of Marriage: 'I Blame No One But Myself'

Tammy Hembrow confirmed that she is divorcing Matt Zukowski in a TikTok video on Saturday, June 21 The pair tied the knot in November 2024 after getting engaged a year prior, according to Daily Mail Love Island Australia star Zukowski, 29, also confirmed their split in a post on his Instagram StoriesTammy Hembrow and Matt Zukowski are going their separate ways after less than a year of marriage. On Saturday, June 21, the Australian model and fitness influencer, 31, confirmed their split in a TikTok video, speaking candidly about her 'heartbreak' over their decision to divorce. She and Love Island Australia star Zukowski, 29, got engaged in December 2023 after just three months of dating. They then tied the knot on Nov. 23, 2024, per Daily Mail and the Australian outlet 'This is giving me so much anxiety … I wanted to finally tell you guys that I am going to be getting a divorce,' said Hembrow on TikTok. She then clarified that she didn't want to go into details about the split or 'bring anyone down." 'Did I think this was gonna happen? Did I want this? No. Obviously, when you marry someone, you do it thinking that it's gonna be forever,' she continued tearfully. 'And I blame no one but myself, to be honest." "I feel like I've made not the best choices when it comes to relationships. And I feel like I'm really good at putting on rose-colored glasses or just getting swept up in it all," she added. Hembrow previously told Vogue Australia that she and Zukowski had 'an instant connection' after meeting online. 'From the very first conversation, there was something that sparked between us,' she told the outlet. 'We were inseparable from that very first date!' Hembrow has three children: son Wolf, 10, and daughter Saskia, eight, shared with her ex Reece Hawkins and three–year–old daughter Posy, shared with her former partner Matt Poole. In Saturday's TikTok video, Hembrow became increasingly emotional as she described the effect of her split from Zukowski on her children as 'the worst part.' 'I don't care about me, like, I know I'll be okay, but I obviously feel awful,' she said. "...Nothing anyone could say could make me feel more s--- than I already do, like more humiliated … At the end of the day, I know this is what needs to happen, there's no other option.' Hembrow said she is focusing on her kids and 'healing' amid the divorce. 'There's been times where I felt that I've grown so much and then this whole experience has just made me feel like I still have a lot of growing to do a lot of a lot of work to do,' she said. '..There's a lesson and everything and hopefully this time I learn it.' Zukowski also confirmed the pair's split on his Instagram Stories on Saturday. 'It's with a heavy heart I share that Tammy and I have decided to separate,' the reality star wrote. 'Both of us have struggled with making this decision however, we need to do what is right for ourselves and her three children. This wasn't a decision we took lightly…,' he added. Representatives for Hembrow and Zukowski did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on Sunday, June 22. Read the original article on People
