Sky Sports broadcaster Martin Brundle shuts down Michael McIntyre's request at the Monaco Grand Prix in another awkward exchange
Martin Brundle did not have much time for Michael McIntyre 's hopeful request at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Sky Sports host, 65, spoke to the comic, 49, as he interviewed the big names at the event, beginning the conversation by saying he had been invited onto Michael's 'show with the circle'.
Brundle said: 'Your people invited me onto your show with the circle.'
Spotting an opportunity for a joke, the comic replied: 'The show with the circle? It's called The Wheel!
'I think a Formula 1 driver should know what a wheel is. That is not a circle, it's called a wheel.'
After establishing the upper hand in the conversation with his quick wit, Michael took the opportunity to repeat the invite to his popular quiz show.

The comedian asked: 'Why don't you come on The Wheel?'
Martin then explained that he was unable to appear on the show because of his other commitments in June, but he plans to take up the invite one day.
He said: 'Because I can't do it, it's in June.
'I've got to do some other things, but one day I will.'
For those unfamiliar with the show, The Wheel is a quiz show which features a contestant who answers questions with the help of celebrity experts.
Hosted by Michael, contestants have a chance to win cash prizes of up to £116,000.
Needless to say, Martin, as a former Formula 1 driver, would likely be a help for any motoring questions.
Michael's appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix comes after troubles in his own motoring life after his luxury sports car was towed in Kensington High Street earlier this month.
He was photographed speaking to an official as his high-end £195,000 sports car was hoisted onto the back of a lorry with its wheels clamped
He was photographed speaking to an official on May 14 as his high-end £195,000 sports car was hoisted onto the back of a lorry with its wheels clamped.
The comedian looked unimpressed as he had an animated discussion with an official, who wore a yellow hi-vis jacket as builders watched on.
The funnyman looked dapper in a navy suit and pink shirt while he sported his signature square glasses for his unfortunate outing into the city.
Michael's vehicle, a Mercedes-AMG GT R, had been hoisted onto the back of a tow truck as it was moved from the street.
The TV star's vehicle was towed after it was parked in a parking bay reserved for police vehicles.

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso endures nightmare comeback after six-month injury lay-off as he is SENT OFF for a horror tackle in damaging blow to his Lions hopes - as England squander 12-point lead to lose against France
Manny Feyi-Waboso endured a nightmare return to rugby as he was sent off and saw England blow a 12-point lead to lose to France. The Exeter Chiefs flier, back on a pitch for the first time in six months after shoulder surgery, caught France fly-half Antoine Hastoy with a neck-high tackle half an hour into the Twickenham friendly. British and Irish Lions head coach Andy Farrell had hinted he could add Feyi-Waboso to his tour party, but that looks unlikely after the yellow card initially shown to the 22-year old was upgraded to red. England co-captain George Ford said: 'It's all pretty raw right now for Manny so it's hard to say anything to him other than try to keep his head up 'You just want to get around him and support him. What will be will be with the disciplinary process.' Steve Borthwick, the England head coach, refused to prejudge the matter, which will be decided on Sunday by a disciplinary panel. On Monday he names his 36-man tour squad for the three-Test tour to Argentina and the United States and is keen as mustard to have available a player who burst onto the international al scene with five tries in his first eight Tests. Immanuel Feyi-Waboso's tackle. #ENGvFRA — Jared Wright (@jaredwright17) June 21, 2025 England's concerns run deeper than the fate of one player. Having given the French a 12-point head start they had the game in the bag when leading by the same margin with five minutes to go. 'When you're 24-12 up you need to be better to see the game out,' said Ford. England must learn fast as they face the Pumas on Saturday week in the first of back to back Tests against a nation celebrating its historic defeat of the Lions.
