Visakhapatnam: Industries minister TG Bharat on Tuesday said the NDA govt in the state had drawn investments worth 9.2 lakh crore within 11 months — an achievement the previous YSRCP regime failed to match in five years.
The investments are expected to generate over 8.5 lakh employment opportunities.
Addressing the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) Excellence Awards 2025 as chief guest, Bharat emphasised the govt's industry-first approach. "Our focus is on restoring investor confidence and addressing the long-standing concerns of the industrial sector," he noted.
Highlighting reforms, Bharat said Andhra Pradesh now has among the most competitive industrial policies in the country.
He urged entrepreneurs to leverage state-provided incentives and cited the "Speed of Doing Business" initiative for expediting approvals. He also called on businesses to participate in the P4 (People-Public-Private Partnership) model for inclusive growth.
Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat urged industry leaders to identify challenges and offer transformative ideas. "Your innovation could be the game changer Andhra Pradesh needs," he said.

GitHub CEO to software developers: ‘Key for winning' AI coding tools is in ….
Thomas Dohmke, CEO of GitHub GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke says the "key for winning" with AI coding tools is maintaining the ability to quickly modify AI-generated code manually, rather than relying entirely on automated agents. Speaking on "The MAD Podcast with Matt Turck," Dohmke emphasized that developers need flexibility to seamlessly transition between AI assistance and hands-on coding. The CEO outlined an ideal workflow where AI agents can write code and submit pull requests, but developers retain the ability to make rapid changes using their existing programming skills . This approach prevents the productivity trap of spending minutes describing simple changes in natural language when the same task could be completed in seconds through direct coding. "The worst alternative is trying to figure out how to provide feedback or prompt to describe in natural language what I already know how to do in programming language," Dohmke explained. Such scenarios could transform three-second tasks into three-minute ordeals, ultimately reducing rather than enhancing productivity. Startups can't rely on "vibe coding" alone by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cardiologist: The Simple Trick to Shed Belly Fat After 50 (It's Genius!) During a recent Q&A at Station F in Paris, the GitHub CEO cautioned that startups cannot scale on vibe coding alone. Non-technical founders will struggle to build sustainable companies without skilled developers, he argued, noting they "can't build a complex system to justify the next round." The key is enabling developers to choose the best approach for each situation, whether that's leveraging AI agents for maximum ROI or handling tasks directly themselves. AI Masterclass for Students. ‘Maybe I'll change my mind about firing him': Trump revives threat to fire Fed Chair Jerome Powell; calls him ‘total and complete moron'
Donald Trump revives threat to fire Fed Chair Jerome Powell (Picture credit: AP) US President Donald Trump on Friday again floated the possibility of firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, reigniting a long-standing feud over interest rates he claims should be much lower. In a scathing post on Truth Social, Trump called Powell a 'numbskull' and a 'total and complete moron,' blaming him for refusing to reduce rates despite what Trump called 'virtually no inflation' in the economy. 'I don't know why the Board doesn't override this Total and Complete Moron! Maybe, just maybe, I'll have to change my mind about firing him?' Trump wrote. 'But regardless, his Term ends shortly,' Trump added. Powell's current term ends in May 2026. Trump's renewed criticism came just days after the Federal Reserve decided to hold interest rates steady at 4.25%–4.50%. Powell, backed by all six board members and five regional bank presidents, cited the need for patience as inflation trends slowly downward. Trump, however, insists rates should be slashed to between 1% and 2%, claiming such a move could save the country up to $1 trillion annually. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Has Toyota Done It Again? I've been nice, I've been neutral, and I've been nasty, and nice and neutral didn't work!' Trump added. As per The Hill, Powell has previously stated that a sitting US president cannot lawfully remove a Fed chair except for cause, such as misconduct. A recent Supreme Court ruling also reinforced the Fed's unique structure as a quasi-independent entity, limiting Trump's ability to dismiss Powell directly. Trump's renewed focus on the Fed comes at a time when Fed Governor Christopher Waller, considered a top contender for Powell's successor, suggested that rate cuts could be on the table by July, citing cooling inflation and signs of a weakening labour market. Nonetheless, Waller joined the unanimous decision to keep rates on hold this week. Adding to the speculation, Trump is reportedly preparing to announce a nominee to replace Powell, potentially well before the end of his term. Market analysts have warned that such an early move could create instability by introducing a 'shadow chair' dynamic, where the sitting chair and the president's nominee pull policy in conflicting directions. Names circulating as potential replacements include Fed Governor Waller, former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh, former Trump nominee Judy Shelton, and White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett. However, any new Fed chair must be confirmed by the US Senate, a process that could take months. Market strategists caution that the perception of a politically influenced appointment could erode confidence in the Fed's independence. 'Any Wall Street manager would tell you that Fed independence is the golden rule of markets,' said Callie Cox of Ritholtz Wealth Management. Despite the firestorm, Powell remains firm. In a previous statement, he said he would not step down if asked and reiterated that Fed decisions are grounded in economic data, not political pressure. Meanwhile, Trump's intensifying rhetoric and tariff plans continue to inject uncertainty into the central bank's outlook for the second half of 2025. Google CEO Sundar Pichai says this mantra he learnt during his IIT days help him cope with pressure at Google
Google CEO Sundar Pichai Google CEO Sundar Pichai has shared his mantra which he picked up during his student days in India which helped him to stay grounded and cope with pressure at Google. Speaking at a Stanford Business School event, Pichai mentioned about the two-part mindset he learned at the time of studying at IIT Kharagpur which later helped him at Stanford. The first mantra is to take decision and not overthink on it and second is to remember that most of the decision are not permanent. 'You making that decision is the most important thing you can do to move forward,' Pichai said. 'It may feel like a lot rides on it, but you look later and realize—it wasn't that consequential' "I think in some ways, I did learn it at IIT, you know, when you're preparing for exams or doing problem sets," Pichai recounted. "It's a way to cope with overwhelming situations by breaking them down into manageable parts." He emphasized that rather than being paralyzed by the vastness of an issue or the weight of future uncertainties, the mantra encourages directing energy towards immediate, solvable tasks. Pichai also credits his mentor Bill Campbell who helped him in becoming a decisive leader. 'Every week he'd ask me, 'What ties did you break this week?'' Pichai recalled, referring to moments when he had to resolve deadlocks within teams. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo "I think in some ways, I did learn it at IIT, you know, when you're preparing for exams or doing problem sets," Pichai recounted.
