CDC Vouchers 2025 just released
On 13 May 2025, Singaporean households received S$500 in Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers. These May 2025 CDC vouchers are part of the 2025 Budget's enhanced Assurance Package, designed to mitigate cost-of-living pressures amid global economic challenges.
An additional S$300 in CDC vouchers will be paid out in Jan 2026, bringing the total to S$800 for the financial year.
The May 2025 CDC vouchers are evenly split: S$250 for use at participating heartland merchants and hawkers, and S$250 for supermarkets like NTUC FairPrice, Sheng Siong, Cold Storage, Giant Singapore, HAO Mart, Prime Supermarket and U Stars Supermarket.
With this approach, both local businesses and Singaporean homes benefit. Over 97% of households claimed the previous January tranche, spending more than S$324 million, mainly on food and groceries.
Households with at least one Singapore citizen can access their vouchers via go.gov.sg/cdcv. To claim them, just one member of these eligible households needs to log in with their Singpass. They will receive a unique voucher link for the home via SMS. This link can be shared with the rest of the household so each member can use it concurrently.
The May 2025 CDC vouchers are valid until 31 Dec 2025.
Supermarkets are running promotions to coincide with this launch. FairPrice Group, Cold Storage and Giant are offering a S$6 return voucher for every S$60 spent in a single CDC voucher transaction from 13 to 19 May 2025. There is no minimum spend when you use the return voucher.
All adult Singaporeans will also receive SG60 vouchers in Jul 2025. All citizens above the age of 21 will get S$600 while seniors aged 60 and above will receive S$800. These vouchers can be used at all businesses where CDC vouchers are accepted.
Please be mindful when you claim your May 2025 CDC vouchers online. Do not respond to requests asking for your banking credentials, OTP or password. Do not transfer any money or install apps from any websites. None of these are required to claim your CDC vouchers. If you suspect a scam, call the 24/7 ScamShield Helpline at 1799.

Top Bay Area coffee shop and Indonesian restaurant have closed
SanDai, Walnut Creek's unique Singaporean-Indonesian restaurant, has closed. Chef-owner Nora Haron announced the news, as well as the closure of her adjacent Indonesian-inspired cafe, Kopi Bar, in a press release Friday. Despite strong weekend crowds, she said that slow midweek activity was too much to overcome. Monthly rent for the space on North Main Street, a quieter stretch compared to the heart of downtown Walnut Creek, was more than $28,500, according to Haron. The businesses closed March 2. The upscale restaurant and coffee bar opened in early 2023. At SanDai, Haron put a California twist on the cuisine of her family's Nusantara, a geographical and cultural zone which encompasses Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei, as well as parts of Thailand and the Philippines. Haron's sought-after dishes included her pickled pineapple topped beef rendang, fish fried rice and a raviolo stuffed with tiger prawn in a red broth. 'We really had a good time with the fun-loving atmosphere and sunny, stroll-friendly streets of Walnut Creek,' Haron said in an email to the Chronicle. 'We had a lot of very loyal, hyperlocal fans and we made such heartfelt connections in the community.' Kopi Bar offered Indonesian-inspired beverages like creamy avocado coffees and coconut cappuccinos made with beans roasted by Oakland company Mr. Espresso. Pastries displayed Haron's baking expertise, with croissant muffins stuffed with coconut-egg cream and lapis gulung, a traditional Indonesian cake made with an egg-heavy batter featuring nutmeg and other spices. It ranked among Chronicle restaurant critic Cesar Hernandez's list of the Bay Area's best coffee shops. While the first incarnation of Kopi Bar has closed its doors the brand will live on, Haron said, she hopes to expand the coffee shop to new locations through next year. 'We're growing, evolving, and bringing Kopi Bar to even more people,' she said. 'This is just the beginning.' A spokesperson for the restaurants said these plans are very early in development and no further information was available.

Mulberry in talks over £20m cash-call as losses widen
Struggling luxury handbag maker Mulberry has revealed talks to raise more than £20 million as the group warned over widening annual losses and worsening trading conditions. The Somerset-based firm said it was launching the cash-call after a 'post-2024-25 year-end review by the executive management, and in light of an even more challenging trading environment'. It added: 'The board has concluded that the company will require additional capital to fund its growth strategy and achieve its desired financial targets.' Mulberry said it was in discussions with majority shareholder Challice – a group controlled by Singaporean entrepreneur Christina Ong and husband Ong Beng Seng – and major stakeholder Mike Ashley's Frasers Group over the fundraising. It comes as Mulberry expects to slump to an underlying pre-tax loss of around £23 million for the year to March 29 against losses of £22.6 million the previous year. The group is set to report annual revenues tumbling 21% to around £120 million, adding that it does expect 'material overall revenue growth' in the new financial year. Andrea Baldo, chief executive of Mulberry, said the group had taken action to overhaul the business and cut costs as part of plans laid out in January, including shutting some stores. It already axed around 85 jobs in the run-up to Christmas – around a quarter of its workforce – largely impacting head office workers. Mr Baldo said: 'In the near term, we are firmly in turnaround mode, focused on rebuilding profitability and gross margin, while strategically investing in brand building initiatives.' He added: 'We've taken action to reduce costs – restructuring head office and exiting unprofitable stores, delivering a lower run-rate cost base into 2025-26. 'Following our year-end review, the board and I are confident that, with additional funding, we can accelerate momentum and deliver against our targets at pace.' The firm said shareholder Challice was willing to underwrite the fundraising in full, but Mulberry said it hoped Frasers would also take part. 'Whilst these discussions are ongoing, the board notes that it may not be possible for all parties to agree fully on the structure of the fundraising, in which case the board… will conclude on the most appropriate structure for the company,' Mulberry said. It expects to complete the fundraising in July, to coincide with the publication of its annual results.
