Mafia: The Old Country has an official release date and a new trailer

Digital Trends08-05-2025

If you're still mourning the GTA 6 delay, Mafia: The Old Country is here to fill the void. Today, 2K and Hangar 13 gave an official release date of August 8, 2025 and dropped a new gameplay trailer that shows the gritty, bloody criminal underworld of Sicily like never before. There's also a new Developer Insights video that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at what went into the development of the latest Mafia entry.
The latest trailers give us a better idea of the gameplay, showing a combination of stealth, gunplay, and a car chase in old-school vehicles. Players have a variety of options on how to approach a situation; even if stealth might be the best way in one scenario, you can quickly swap to a guns-blazing approach if things go sideways.

The Developer Insights video also suggests that The Old Country won't require a huge time commitment. 'We think there's a large audience for compelling stories that don't require massive time commitments,' said 2K President David Ismailer. 'We're excited to offer a game like Mafia: The Old Country in our portfolio, and to provide a linear highly-polished narrative experience that can easily complement the other more persistent games our players also love and engage with on a more consistent basis.'
The Old Country is described as 'brutal and grounded in all the best ways.' It's not open world; instead, the game is a more linear, tightly-crafted narrative that takes the player through a story that would be right at home in a classic mob movie. 'Authenticity and immersion are key,' says game director Alex Cox. 'The best crime stories have an unforgettable twist, and this game's no exception. The players are in for a treat.'
Mafia: The Old Country will be available in both Standard and Deluxe Editions, and both are available for preorder starting today. The Standard edition will be available for $50, while the Deluxe Edition is $60 and includes numerous cosmetic upgrades, extra items, and a digital artbook.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 Premiere Date Set — Plus, Check Out the Trailer and… Was That a Kiss?!?

Just like when one door closes, another opens — or someone croaks, a walker rises — as one season ends, another begins. During Sunday's Season 2 finale of the Negan-and-Maggie-centric Walking Dead: Dead City, AMC dropped a trailer for Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — and revealed that the fifth spinoff in the franchise would return on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 9/8c. Per the show's official logline, 'Season 3, which filmed in Spain, will follow Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the walker apocalypse.' Johnny Depp Says ‘I Was a Crash Test Dummy for #MeToo' and ‘I Didn't Feel Nervous' Facing Off Against Amber Heard in Court: ‘I'll Fight Until the Bitter F—ing End'

Johnny Depp called himself a 'crash test dummy for #MeToo' in a sprawling new interview with The Sunday Times as he sets out to promote the U.K. theatrical release of his latest directorial effort, 'Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness.' Depp was referring to the allegations first leveled at him in 2016 by ex-wife Amber Heard, who accused him of domestic violence when she filed for divorce. Heard's allegations notably fed into two trials that garnered global attention. Depp brought a libel lawsuit against The Sun in 2018 after the publication referred to him as a 'wife beater.' The trial kicked off in summer 2020 and ended with the court determining that the characterization of Depp as a 'wife beater' was 'substantially true.' Later in the year, Depp exited Warner Bros.' 'Fantastic Beasts' franchise after saying the studio asked him to resign from the role in the aftermath of the trial. The 2022 trial was live-streamed on YouTube and became an online sensation. The jury ultimately ruled that Heard did defame Depp in the op-ed, while also ruling Depp defamed Heard in the course of fighting back against her charges. Over the course of the trial, shocking details about Depp and Heard's personal lives were revealed. 'Look, it had gone far enough,' Depp told The Sunday Times about the viral 2022 trial. 'I knew I'd have to semi-eviscerate myself. Everyone was saying, 'It'll go away!' But I can't trust that. What will go away? The fiction pawned around the fucking globe? No it won't. If I don't try to represent the truth it will be like I've actually committed the acts I am accused of. And my kids will have to live with it. Their kids. Kids that I've met in hospitals. So the night before the trial in Virginia I didn't feel nervous. If you don't have to memorize lines, if you're just speaking the truth? Roll the dice.' Depp said he survived 'all the hit pieces, the bullshit' that accompanied the trial, adding: 'Look, none of this was going be easy, but I didn't care. I thought, 'I'll fight until the bitter fucking end.' And if I end up pumping gas? That's all right. I've done that before.' A few years after the end of the U.S. trial, Depp is now getting the chance to come back to Hollywood by starring opposite 'Blow' co-star Penelope Cruz in the Lionsgate action comedy 'Day Drinker.' He told the Times about his life: 'I have no regrets about anything — because, truly, what can we do about last week's dinner? Not a fucking thing.' 'Day Drinker' is scheduled to release in theaters sometime in 2026. Actress Joan Collins sparked a wholesome fan reaction on Sunday when she shared an ultra-rare photograph of her youngest daughter, Katy. In a celebratory birthday post shared to Instagram, the Dynasty star uploaded a beaming snapshot that showed the pair posing together at a round table. Dressed to impress, Joan, 91, looked radiant wearing a ruched coffee-hued top which she teamed with a cream blazer emblazoned with a pink and navy check pattern. The legendary TV star elevated her look with a wide-brim hat, pearlescent disc earrings and a statement pearl crucifix. Katy, meanwhile, looked stylish dressed in a chic quilted jacket and a black beanie. Paying tribute to Katy on her birthday, Joan wrote in her caption: "My beautiful #daughter Katy enjoying the happiest of birthdays last Friday #daughtersareforever #daughterslove." Fans and friends quickly inundated the comments section with touching messages. One wrote: "Beautiful photo of you both", while a second added: "What a beautiful photo of you both", and a third commented: "Happy birthday Katy. I love her jacket!" Joan shares Katyana Kass, known affectionately as Katy, with her third husband, Ron Kass. Whilst Katy tends to avoid the spotlight, Joan did open up about her daughter in her 2023 BBC Documentary titled This Is Joan. Sharing a glimpse into their family life, Joan revealed that Katy suffered a traumatic car accident when she was eight years old. "She was knocked down by a car and sustained very serious brain injuries and I was told that she was going to die. She was in a coma for a very long time," Joan said. Aside from Katy, Joan is also a doting mother to her two eldest children, Alexander and Tara, whom she shares with her second husband, Anthony Newely. Tara is a journalist and screenwriter, while Alexander is a published author and artist. Musing on motherhood, Joan previously told In 2018: "What makes me happiest is seeing my children happy. Honestly, life makes me happy and I'm very aware of how lucky I am." Joan has been married five times in total; to Maxwell Reed, Antony Newley, Ron Kass, Peter Holm and Percy Gibson, to whom she has been happily married since 2002. Lovebirds Percy and Joan crossed paths in 2000 before going on to tie the knot in 2002. While Joan initially had no intention of remarrying, she felt an instant connection with her "soulmate" Percy and subsequently changed her mind. "It is my fifth marriage, and my happiest, and last" Joan previously told us. "Percy is wonderful, he's my soulmate. That doesn't mean we don't bicker but we are very understanding of each other."
