Just like when one door closes, another opens — or someone croaks, a walker rises — as one season ends, another begins. During Sunday's Season 2 finale of the Negan-and-Maggie-centric Walking Dead: Dead City, AMC dropped a trailer for Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — and revealed that the fifth spinoff in the franchise would return on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 9/8c.
Per the show's official logline, 'Season 3, which filmed in Spain, will follow Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the walker apocalypse.'

You'll recall that by the end of the Season 2 finale (recapped here), Clémence Poésy's Isabelle, Adam Nagaitis' Quinn, Anne Charrier's Genet, Joel de la Fuente's Losang, Nassima Benchicou's Jacinta… OK, basically almost everyone who wasn't Daryl or Carol was dead. At least Louis Puech Scigliuzzi's Laurent made it out alive, taking off with Manish Dayal's Ash to return to the States.

Former Babyshambles guitarist Patrick Walden dead at 46

June 22 (UPI) -- Former Babyshambles guitarist Patrick Walden has died at the age of 46. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Babyshambles (@babyshamblesuk) "It is with deep regret and sadness that we share the news of Patrick Walden's death," the British rock band posted on Instagram Saturday. "We feel very fortunate to have known/loved and worked with him and we kindly ask for respect and privacy during these difficult times. Peter, Drew, Mik, Adam." Details regarding the cause and circumstances of his death were not specified. Variety noted that Walden was an original member of the band when singer Pete Doherty and Drew McConnell formed it in 2004. Walden co-wrote six songs on the group's debut album, Down in Albion, then quit the band in 2005 to deal with substance-abuse and legal issues. Walden -- who also performed with the bands Fluid and White Sport -- reunited with Babyshambles for numerous shows over the years, but never officially rejoined the group. The current lineup of Babyshambles includes Doherty, McConnell, Mick Whitnall and Adam Ficek. Their other albums include 2007's Shotter's Nation and 2013's Sequel to the Prequel.

Almost four years after its debut became a global phenomenon that redefined what a streaming hit can look like, Squid Game is preparing to take its final bow. The third and final season of Netflix's dystopian juggernaut hits the streamer June 27, and it promises to end the story the same way it began — with violence, and a whole lot of blood. Season 3 picks up in the rubble of Season 2's devastating finale, where Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) was betrayed and left reeling. His attempted rebellion against the architects of the game nearly succeeded — that is, until the Front Man, hiding in plain sight as Player 001, shattered the plan and executed Gi-hun's closest ally, Jung-bae, in cold blood. Now Gi-hun is blaming himself, unaware that the real knife in his back came from someone he trusted. Today's Top Deals Best deals: Tech, laptops, TVs, and more sales Best Ring Video Doorbell deals Memorial Day security camera deals: Reolink's unbeatable sale has prices from $29.98 As always, Squid Game doesn't wait around for any of the players to catch their breath. As the games resume, the stakes climb even higher. This time, the rounds are more brutal and the choices even more personal. According to Netflix, surviving players will face moral and emotional reckoning with every decision they make. Meanwhile, the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) isn't just back in charge; he's welcoming a new slate of mysterious VIPs while keeping his own secrets intact. And In-ho's brother, Jun-ho, is still on the hunt for the island, unaware that betrayal may be closer than he thinks. Writer-director Hwang Dong-hyuk has promised to give the Netflix hit an epic send-off. Can we expect redemption? Or will the cruelty of the game consume what little humanity remains? To build anticipation, Netflix has also turned Squid Game into a global event, with real-world activations echoing the show's many iconic moments. Beginning June 6 in Shibuya, Tokyo, fans have been stepping into immersive pop-up spaces featuring the show's signature guards and re-enactments of its games. And the activations are spreading across the globe, with events in New York and Germany (June 20), Thailand (June 25), Saudi Arabia, Italy, and Indonesia (June 26), and a grand finale in Korea and Taiwan (July 6). Fans will get to try legacy games and even experience new ones like Jump Rope, recreated with chilling detail. The final season marks one last chance to see how far the game will go, and whether anyone can break its grip. Ready or not, Squid Game ends next week. And for Gi-hun and the rest, there's no going back. Ellen DeGeneres' Talk Show Demeanor Toward Female Comedians Raises Eyebrows

It's been three years since The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired its last episode, but the controversy surrounding Ellen DeGeneres continues. The 67-year-old comedian is now retired and living in the U.K. with her wife, Portia de Rossi, but she's still being called out by her peers for her reported less-than-kind behavior on her talk show. The latest celebrity to step up to the plate is comedian Margaret Cho. More from SheKnows Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi Are Clearly Embracing This Type of Lifestyle Amid Controversial UK Move On the June 18 episode of The Kelly Mantle Show, Cho described DeGeneres as 'really weird' and 'not nice' to her for the majority of her career. 'I opened for her in the 1980s, when she was a headliner in comedy clubs. Later, when I would do her talk show in the 2000s, she would act like we just met,' Cho explained. 'And I'm like, 'Bitch, what?' That's weird. We go way back. It's so creepy and weird.' It may just sound like sour grapes between two performers, but this isn't the first time DeGeneres has been taken to task by other female comedians. Rosie O'Donnell famously shared with The Hollywood Reporter how they went from a 'good relationship' to DeGeneres' out-of-left-field comment about her on Larry King Live in 1998. 'I don't know Rosie. We're not friends,' DeGeneres told the late talk show host. DeGeneres never invited O'Donnell on her daytime show, and it took until 2023 for her to receive an apology via text. O'Donnell shared with the media outlet, 'She wrote, 'I'm really sorry and I don't remember that.' I guess she saw me talk about it on Andy Cohen's show [Watch What Happens Live]. I remembered it so well; I had T-shirts printed and I gave them to my staff that said 'I don't know Rosie. We're not friends.' I have a picture of her holding [my then-infant son] Parker. I know her mother. I could identify her brother without her in the room. I knew her for so many years. It just felt like I don't trust this person to be in my world.' If that wasn't evidence enough of DeGeneres' alleged problem with other women in her field, Kathy Griffin has been open about her almost 30-year feud with the retired comedian. They got off on the wrong foot when Griffin guest starred on her sitcom, Ellen, in 1996 and their friendship never recovered. 'I have a loathing for her that is epic,' Griffin said on April 1 on her YouTube channel. 'I know a lot of it is jealousy. I get it. She's way more successful than I'll ever be. You're welcome, Ellen. That's way nicer than anything you've ever said about me or ever will.' DeGeneres addressed her reputation in her 2024 Netflix special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval. 'Yeah, the 'be kind' girl wasn't kind, that was the headline,' she said. 'Here's the problem: I'm a comedian who got a talk show and I ended the show every day by saying, 'Be kind to one another.' Had I ended my show by saying, 'Go f—k yourselves,' people would've been pleasantly surprised to find out I'm kind.'Best of SheKnows 23 Age-Gap Couples Who Met When One of Them Was Still a Child Everything to Know About Leonardo DiCaprio's 27-Year-Old GF Vittoria Ceretti A Look Back at Prince William's Sexiest Photos in Celebration of the Future King
