
Air India cancels seven flights; cites 'maintenance and operational reasons'- check full list

Air India on Friday announced that it has cancelled seven flights, including four international and three domestic routes, due to "enhanced maintenance and operational reasons.
" The cancellations come days after an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed.
Affected flights include services between Dubai, Chennai, Delhi, Melbourne, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
According to the airline, international flights that have been cancelled include:
AI906 from Dubai to Chennai
AI308 from Delhi to Melbourne
AI309 from Melbourne to Delhi
AI2204 from Dubai to Hyderabad
On the domestic front, the following flights were called off:
AI874 from Pune to Delhi
AI456 from Ahmedabad to Delhi
AI571 from Chennai to Mumbai
In a statement, Air India said the move was due to "enhanced maintenance and operational reasons."
"Air India's international flights AI906 from Dubai to Chennai; AI308 from Delhi to Melbourne; AI309 from Melbourne to Delhi; AI2204 from Dubai to Hyderabad and domestic flights AI874 from Pune to Delhi; AI456 from Ahmedabad to Delhi; AI-2872 from Hyderabad to Mumbai and AI571 from Chennai to Mumbai have been cancelled due to enhanced maintenance and operational reasons," an spokesperson of Air India was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.

Earlier, on Thursday, the airline said that it will reduce flights on various international routes per week and temporarily suspend operations on three routes from June 21 to July 15, 2025.
"Further to the press statement released yesterday, 18 June 2025, which announced a temporary reduction in services operated by Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft, we wish to provide details on the flights affected. These reductions will be effective from 21 June 2025, and last until at least 15 July 2025," the airline said in a post on X.
"The reductions arise from the decision to voluntarily undertake enhanced pre-flight safety checks, as well as accommodate additional flight durations arising from airspace closures in the Middle East. The objective is to restore schedule stability and minimise last-minute inconvenience to passengers," it said.
On June 12, the London-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed into a hostel complex of BJ Medical College in the Meghani Nagar area of Gujarat's Ahmedabad shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
The tragedy claimed 241 lives out of 242 onboard, including former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani.

Further, Gupta said TICMPL has invested in four manufacturing units -- three in and around Chennai and one in Manesar, Haryana -- to produce its range of electric vehicles. "We have already created capacities which we feel are sufficient to take care of at least next couple of years," he noted. The HCV facility at Manesar has an annual capacity of up to 6,000 units. For SCV, the company has an annual capacity of 50,000 units and the three-wheeler capacity is 70,000 units across passenger and cargo variants. Gupta said the company's electric tractor production capacity is 25,000 units per annum. TICMPL's new electric three-wheeler SUPER CARGO prices start at Rs 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi, post-subsidy) and marks the company's entry in the highly strategic last-mile delivery space. It has a range of over 200 km on standard testing conditions and real-life range of 170 km, the company said. It is powered by a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and will also be available with a 15-minute 100 per cent charging option. In the three-wheeler segment, the company has a presence in 101 different markets in India and plans to reach 150 markets in FY26. It has sold over 10,000 units so far.

The panel observed that the 'discrepancy' raised important questions about prioritising regulatory compliance over security infrastructure and accident investigation capabilities. The panel recommended the adoption of performance-based budgeting for aviation regulatory bodies, linking allocations to specific performance indicators. 'The Committee observes that the Capital Outlay for BE 2025 distinct imbalance in the allocation of funds across key aviation bodies. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), entrusted with regulatory oversight, commands the largest share of ₹ 30 Crore, nearly half of the total budget,' reads the report by the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture. Recalling the moment, Nilesh Khivansara, owner of Gopika Jewellers, told ANI, "They were self-respecting people. They didn't want anything for free and insisted on paying." The elderly couple first visited his first Branch looking for jewellery, he said. They browsed for a while and left without buying. After going to three other stores over the next couple of hours, the couple came to his second branch in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, he added. The staff mistook the 93-year-old's appearance for someone seeking financial assistance, but when he expressed his desire to purchase a mangalsutra for his wife, who was accompanying him, they handed over the 'maala' and 'vaati' (pendant) to her. Mr Khivansara said the couple refused to take it for free and instead made a payment. "They first offered me Rs 1,100, then some loose coins. The lady also took out a few Rs 10 and Rs 20 notes from her bag. I refused to take anything, but they were adamant about paying something," he said. Eventually, he accepted Rs 10 each from both the husband and wife as a blessing and handed over the one-gram gold-plated mangalsutra worth around Rs 3,000. "I just took Rs 20 from him as a token of blessings and handed over the mangalsutra to the couple as I was overwhelmed by their gesture," he added. He also shared that the couple has left their home as their only son is reportedly an alcoholic. They are surviving on the streets and often rely on public goodwill.
