Bills' Josh Allen Reveals Humbling Take on MVP Meaning
Bills' Josh Allen Reveals Humbling Take on MVP Meaning originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
For most quarterbacks, winning an MVP award can be the highlight of their career. It's an honor not to be taken lightly.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has a different idea on how to treat his reigning MVP award status.
In an exclusive Sports Illustrated interview, Allen talked about the honor of winning the award … but how it meant little compared to his overall legacy and goals.
"I still didn't win a Super Bowl. Didn't win a ring, and that is the only goal. It's the only focus that I've ever had going into this league," said Allen. "The one positive, I will say, about winning an MVP means that your team is in a good position.
"You're making the playoffs, you're playing well, and you're doing whatever you can to help your team win football games."

Allen's response to his MVP trophy is pretty humble stuff. He's become one of the best quarterbacks in the sport, but he knows his legacy will be tied directly to whether he can get the Bills to the promised land.
In order to do that, Allen will likely need to find a way to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite having regular-season success against their bitter rivals, Allen and the Bills have yet to defeat the Chiefs in the playoffs.
Making matters worse, Kansas City has won three Super Bowls during that span.
Allen's MVP season was impressive. Despite the added popularity the award can bring, the Bills' franchise signal-caller is expecting more from himself in 2025 - and more from his team.

Sean McVay: Rams' minicamp in Hawaii is about quality time together
The Rams made the unusual decision to have this week's mandatory minicamp in Maui, and coach Sean McVay said the trip was as much about togetherness as it was about football. Players were encouraged to bring their families with them for a Hawaiian vacation, and McVay said that meant a lot for the team's bonding. McVay also said that Los Angeles and Maui have in common that they're rebuilding from wildfires, and that the Rams wanted to bring some goodwill to the area. 'It's about connection and being able to get some time,' McVay said, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN. 'It's cool to be able to really, for me, meet a lot of these guys' families that maybe I haven't met quite yet or see their wives or girlfriends or their kids, and so that's been a really cool thing so far. This is about being able to get some good quality time with each other and then being able to use the platform that we're blessed with to be able to get back to a community that went through some similar things that we can all understand and kind of empathize with, and you see how excited they are to see our players and that's fun.' There was a time when summer practices in the NFL were brutal, and coaches were taskmasters. McVay represents a new generation of coaches who see the summer as a time to build camaraderie and make sure players are taking care of their bodies so they're healthy when the season starts. That buys him plenty of goodwill with his players.

It's Friday, June 20 and the Orioles (32-42) are in Bronx to take on the Yankees (43-31). Tomoyuki Sugano is slated to take the mound for Baltimore against Max Fried for New York. Baltimore is coming off a split of a series against Tampa Bay where 39 combined runs were scored. The Orioles are 16-6 over the last 22 games after going 16-36 through the first 52 games. The Yankees were swept by the Red Sox and lost three of four against the Angels mainly because of the offense. Expert picks & predictions for tonight's game between the Orioles and the Yankees 'Aaron Judge has been cold lately with two hits and three walks (two intentional) since that game-tying homer in the 9th against Boston (six game span). His odds of hitting .400 before the All-Star break are barely worth a sprinkle now as he's at a .366 batting average. However, he is still -110 to +110 to lead the MLB in homers and with 26 on the season, he ranks second. I don't expect Cal Raleigh (27) to lead the MLB and Shohei Ohtani (25) is pitching now, so the wear and tear could affect the NL MVP favorite, so I think Judge is still a good bet to lead the MLB in homers.'
