Get ready to head to Cousins Beach one last time. The Summer I Turned Pretty is returning for its third and final season in July. As fans wait for the official trailer to drop, read on to learn everything to know (so far) about the bittersweet ending to the fan-favorite series.
Based on the best-selling book trilogy from Jenny Han, Prime Video's coming-of-age drama follows the love triangle between teenager Isabel "Belly" Conklin (Lola Tung) and the Fisher brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).
Han, who also serves as the series' showrunner, teased to Entertainment Weekly that every one of the characters will be put through the wringer at some point in Season 3. 'They all had very emotional scenes. And [the actors]
In Season 2, viewers saw flashbacks about what had happened in the past year, including that Susannah had lost her battle with cancer and Conrad and Belly had broken up. Belly and Jeremiah, who weren't necessarily on good terms, reconnected after they learned that Conrad had gone missing from college. They tracked him down at Cousins Beach, where he was trying to save the beach house from being sold. Conrad and Jeremiah eventually find a way to keep the house in the family and preserve the home and their memories of their mom.
As for Belly, her relationship rekindles with Jeremiah, but things become more complicated after Conrad admits he still has feelings for her. Belly ultimately chooses to be with Jeremiah, and she begins to heal from a depression that has lingered for months following Susannah's death.
However, in Season 3, Jeremiah and Belly's romance isn't as perfect as it may appear from the outside, Han teased to EW.
"A successful love triangle is one where, no matter what happens, people are going to be devastated and heartbroken," she said. 'Because if the answer feels really clear and easy, then there's no real conflict. No matter what you do, someone's going to be hurt by it.'

Without revealing spoilers, The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is based on the third and final book in the trilogy, We'll Always Have Summer, which was released in 2011.
The third season will be the series' longest yet, with 11 episodes. There's also time jump, as Belly is now at the end of her junior year of college. She's still going strong with Jeremiah, whom she chose to be with over Conrad at the end of Season 2. Meanwhile, Conrad is off at Stanford studying to become a doctor.
'It's the end of her junior year of college, and Belly's looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah. Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life," Prime Video's synopsis reads. "Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same."

Jon Bernthal Joins Tom Holland in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day'
Jon Bernthal has appeared in several Marvel television series as the stone-cold vigilante known as the Punisher, even headlining his own series. Now he's taking his guns to the big screen. More from The Hollywood Reporter Abigail Breslin, Booboo Stewart to Star in Dramedy Movie 'A Good Fight' (Exclusive) Steven Spielberg Thought 'Jaws' "Would Be the Last Movie I Would Ever Be Given to Direct" How Prime Video Gives Cord-Cutters One-Stop Access to Apple TV+, HBO Max, Paramount+ and More Bernthal has joined Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the latest Spider-Man movie from Sony and Marvel. Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the feature, which will shoot in England this summer and has a July 31, 2026, release date. Much of the movie remains shrouded in mystery. Movie rumor websites have listed upwards of a dozen possible villains, from crime bosses to alien symbiotes, who could appear in the feature, as well as a couple of different versions of the Hulk. The only thing clear at this stage is that Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are reprising their roles as MJ and best friend Ned, although how substantial those roles will be remains unclear. And Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is the big new addition so far. The story takes place after the events of the previous movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which the entire world knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man and then had that knowledge erased. Having Bernthal as the Punisher seems to point to a slightly more grounded angle on the story as the character hails from the gritty street corner of Marvel's universe and, in the comics at least, uses fists, knives and guns to tussle with bad guys, rather than spells or fancy tech. But hey, having him square off against a rampaging Hulk could be fun, too. Bernthal first showed up as vigilante Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, in Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series, then starred in his own series that ran for two seasons. He recently returned for a few episodes in Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. Marvel is betting on more Punisher and Bernthal in the months and years to come. The character is set to return for season two of Born Again and Marvel is bringing Bernthal back for a Punisher stand-alone feature for Disney+. Bernthal is co-writing the latter. Curiously, one nonnegotiable he had for his return to Daredevil was maintaining the character's violent, R-rated feel. It will be interesting to see how that translates into the more kid-friendly tone of the Spider-Man movies. Bernthal and Holland have a charmed history together when it comes to Marvel. The duo were working on the 2017 feature Pilgrimage when prepping to audition for their Marvel roles. The actors helped each other with their audition tapes. This year, Bernthal's big-screen output has included starring opposite Ben Affleck in The Accountant 2 for Amazon and appearing in the Rami Malek thriller The Amateur for 20th Century Fox. Bernthal is repped by CAA and Sloane Offer. Seth Meyers recalls Billy Bob Thornton confronting 'SNL' lighting director: 'You got something to say?
Nobody, even SNL's lighting director, is going to tell Billy Bob Thornton where he can or can't wear a baseball cap. Seth Meyers recalls a face-off between longtime lighting director Phil Hymes and Thornton when Thornton hosted in 2001. Ultimately, Meyers said the two had a civil conversation after their initial from New York, it's a Billy Bob Thornton fight! On this week's episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers podcast, Seth Meyers recalled a tense moment between the actor and longtime Saturday Night Live lighting director Phil Hymes. "Billy Bob Thornton was hosting and he was running his monologue wearing his baseball hat," Meyers recalled. "And Phil Hymes came up out on the floor and said to someone else, 'Somebody tell him to take his hat off.'" Apparently, Thornton overheard the remark and retorted, "Hey old man, if you've got something to say, say it to my face," according to Meyers. Andy Samberg, who cohosts the podcast, was well-known for his Thornton impression on the sketch show. So, he helped Meyers with his telling of the story by imitating the Oscar winner. Hymes served as lighting director on the show from Saturday Night Live's from the show's second season in 1976 until early 2018, spending nearly 42 years with the comedy hit. Meyers noted that Hymes, well-known as an irascible backstage figure, often liked to remind the cast that he'd once lit President John F. Kennedy in the White House. Meyers, who served as the show's head writer from 2006 to 2014, also took care to stress that the confrontation wasn't as public as it might sound. "Now I also want to clarify Billy Bob Thornton did not do this in front of everybody," Meyers added. "He walked off stage and he went and talked to Phil Hymes, real man to man. "I never saw Phil do this," Meyers continued. "Phil had a real 'I apologize' moment. There was a real like two decent men of honor [exchange]." Akiva Schaffer, another member of The Lonely Island, quipped, "Just two guys meeting at high noon, deciding not to fight," referencing the iconic Gary Cooper film High Noon. Whatever truce that Thornton and Hymes reached, it appears that Thornton got his way. Footage of Thornton's monologue from his time hosting the show on Nov. 17, 2001, makes it clear that Thornton did indeed wear a baseball cap during his monologue, in which he entertained questions from audience members imitating his Sling Blade appearance on season 27 of SNL remains his only outing on the show (not counting Samberg's impressions of him). Hymes was well-known for commenting on things he didn't like. He earned Lady Gaga's respect after commenting on her wardrobe and, in her words, "telling the truth," and he reportedly nearly caused Kanye West to walk off the show after a dispute about set pieces. Hymes won his first Emmy at the age of 95 in 2018. He died at the age of 96 in 2019. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly
