Adani Group to invest ₹1 lakh crore in northeast over 10 years: Gautam Adani
Chairman of Adani group, Gautam Adani on Friday announced a massive investment of ₹1 lakh crore across different regions of the North-Eastern part of the country over a period on next 10 years.
This investment will double the ₹50,000 crore investment announced by the Adani Group just three months ago at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit in February, according to the press release by Adani Group.
Speaking at 'Rising Northeast Investors Summit' in New Delhi, Gautam Adani said, "Three months ago, in Assam, we pledged an investment of Rs50,000 crore. Today, once again, humbled and inspired by your leadership, I announce that the Adani Group will invest an additional Rs50,000 crore across the Northeast over the next 10 years."
The Adani Group Chairman further mentioned that the prime focus of Adani Groups investment will be on green energy, along with "smart-meters, hydro, pumped storage, power transmission, roads & highways, digital infrastructure, logistics, as well as capacity-building through skilling and vocational training centres."
"But more than infrastructure, we will invest in people. Every initiative will prioritize local jobs, local entrepreneurship, and community engagement," said Gautam Adani.
He appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi vision for the North East and said "Behind this rise is the vision of one leader who recognized no borders, only beginnings. Hon'ble Prime Minister, when you said, "Act East, Act Fast, Act First," you gave the Northeast its wake-up call," Over last ten years since 2014, Adani group has invested Rs6.2 lakh crore in North Easters states, Adani group chairman said.
He further added that, North-East has witnessed "doubling the road network to 16,000 kms" and "doubling the number of airports to 18." He said recently, the Adani Group-owned Guwahati Airport managed 3.26 million domestic arrivals and 3.30 million domestic departures.
Before Gautam Adani, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, highlighted the transformative progress of the North Eastern states over the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Recounting past infrastructure gaps, the minister shared that N-E region once had only nine airports, and two states lacked any airports at all. Under PM Modi's leadership, the number of airports in North east has risen to seventeen, giving the region a new thrust in connectivity and economic integration.

The missions organised the first batch of evacuation from Israel as the Indian nationals living in Israel constantly grappled with the sounds of sirens, frequently taking cover in bunkers and fortified safe rooms from incoming missiles and drones from Iran. After completing immigration and border formalities at the Israel-Jordanian border, the group proceeded to Amman Airport , another 120 kilometres ride. Arvind Shukla, a researcher from Hebrew University who was evacuated on Sunday morning, praised "the smooth and carefully planned process" by the embassy under "difficult circumstances", and told PTI: "I have completed the visa process and have already moved to the Jordanian side. The embassy was extremely helpful in facilitating our journey, and we were looked after well." The Israeli and Jordanian governments extended crucial support in ensuring the safe and orderly transit of Indian nationals across the border, the mission in Tel Aviv said. The Embassy of India in Jordan played a key role in receiving the evacuees at the border to further facilitate their onward journey to Amman Airport, it said. Special flights from Amman to New Delhi have been arranged by the Ministry of External Affairs to safely fly Indian nationals home. Operation Sindhu joins the ranks of previous high-profile evacuation missions such as Operation Ganga , Operation Devi Shakti, Operation Kaveri, and Operation Ajay, which successfully brought home Indians from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan, and Israel, respectively. "These efforts reflect not only India's growing global stature but also its operational readiness and deep sense of responsibility toward its diaspora," an embassy official said. "The Government of India continues to accord the highest priority to the safety and security of Indian nationals abroad. The government will continue to monitor the situation closely. The embassy remains continuously in touch with the community to extend all feasible assistance," the official said. The Indian mission in Israel once again reached out to its citizens on Sunday to register for ongoing updates and assistance, and provided a 24/7 helpline number. Gujarat CM Patel announces Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 22 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced the Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025 (GECMS-2025), further strengthening Gujarat's identity as a policy-driven state under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Aimed at transforming Gujarat into a global hub for electronics manufacturing, this new policy brings a significant advantage: projects approved and supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, will be eligible for 100 per cent central assistance when established in Gujarat. Hence, MeitY-approved projects set up in the state will receive dual incentive benefits, one from the Central Government and another from the State Government according to a press release. Thoroughly aligned with the Central Government's Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), Gujarat's GECMS-2025 ensures a 100 per cent top-up on central support and guarantees timely disbursement of assistance. Also, once a project receives approval under the ECMS from MeitY, it will automatically become eligible for the same grant-in-aid in Gujarat. The State Government will disburse its incentive within 30 days of the Central Government releasing its assistance. Gujarat has established itself as a leading manufacturing and automobile hub in India's industrial landscape. With four semiconductor plants now operational in the state, the newly announced policy will further strengthen the upstream industries. This development will reduce import dependency and improve technological resilience. The policy aims to attract over Rs 35,000 crore in new investments and create substantial high-skilled employment opportunities within the state's electronics component manufacturing sector. Unveiled by the Chief Minister, the policy will boost investment in key segments such as multi-layer and HDI printed circuit boards, lithium-ion cells, SMD passive components, display and camera modules, electronic parts, and the additional required machinery essential for their production. A core focus of the policy is to bridge the talent gap, promote innovation and offer support for Research and development initiatives. Recognised institutions based in Gujarat will be eligible for assistance of up to Rs 12.5 crore from the state government to establish Centres of Excellence, Finishing Schools, or Applied Research Laboratories. Additionally, under the GECMS, turnover-linked incentives will be provided for six years. (ANI)
