Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 2026 DL Brian Harris
The Oklahoma Sooners picked up a commitment on Friday from one of the more underrated prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, Brian Harris. Harris out of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Fla. chose the Sooners over offers from Michigan, South Carolina, Alabama, Ole Miss, Colorado, Auburn, West Virginia, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Maryland, Louisville, Duke and Penn State.
Harris projects as and interior defensive lineman at the collegiate level, where his size, strength, and athleticism will allow him to be a force for the Oklahoma Sooners' defense. He has experience playing on the edge and shows the burst, footwork, and hands to be able to win against offensive tackles. As an interior defensive lineman, his length and athleticism will give guards and centers fits.

Harris is listed at 6 feet, 4 inches and weighs 290 pounds. Though currently listed as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings, Harris is considered a four-star prospect by Rivals and the No. 20 defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class.
He marks the third defensive pledge for Brent Venables in the last couple of weeks, following safety Niko Jandreau out of Arizona and linebacker Jakore Smith out of Arkansas. Oklahoma is now up to seven pledges in the 2026 cycle and now ranks No. 38 in the nation, just behind Michigan in the 247Sports team rankings.
In 2026, Harris will join a defensive tackle room that includes Jayden Jackson, David Stone, Markus Strong, Trent Wilson, and Ace Hodges.

As a player, Harris has really good size for the defensive line. What jumps off the screen the most is his quickness and the force with which he plays. He's a violent player and blends a physical playing style with really good athleticism for a guy nearly 300 pounds. For Mandarin High, he lined up as a defensive end in three-man fronts a lot, showing off the ability to get around the corner to attack quarterbacks. He does a great job in backside pursuit, displaying a strong motor to get down the line and chase the running back down from behind. He shows a good understanding of playing with angles and using his arm length to get around offensive linemen. With his size, strength, and athleticism, he has the ability to play defensive tackle in four-man fronts as well as defensive end in three-man fronts.

NORMAN — Offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle found his 2026 quarterback. Four-star Bowe Bentley, the No. 10 quarterback in the 2026 class, announced his commitment to Oklahoma over LSU Friday evening. A 6-foot-2, 200-pound rising senior from Celina, Texas, Bentley previously stood as the cycle's third-ranked uncommitted quarterback. After gaining interest from a plethora of Power 4 programs, Bentley narrowed his finalists to LSU and OU in May before taking official trips to see each program in the following weeks. A dynamic dual-threat with 4,200 total yards and 63 touchdowns as a junior at Celina High School, Bentley joins the Sooners as the top-ranked member of the program's 2026 class. Bentley's commitment comes less than 24 hours after the No. 14-ranked 2026 quarterback Jaden O'Neal decommitted from OU. Shortly after hiring Arbuckle this offseason, the Sooners offered Bentley while O'Neal was committed. Bentley took two unofficial visits to Norman — one in February and another in March — before officially visiting earlier this month. Texas A&M to big leagues: Former Aggie pitcher makes MLB debut for Chicago White Sox
The Texas A&M baseball program had its 65th player in program history make their Major League Baseball debut, as a former Aggie pitcher stepped on the mound for the Chicago White Sox on Saturday afternoon. Left-hander Jake Palisch became the first player to represent the program in their big league debut this year, as he pitched the eighth inning in relief for the White Sox in Game 2 of the road series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Palisch's call-up on Friday was part of multiple moves by the franchise to freshen up a depleted pitching rotation. His contributions during the Aggies' College World Series run can't be overstated, as he notched five saves and 73 strikeouts in 60 1/3 innings. Palisch also earned the Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week honor during a weekend series against Arkansas, where the Richardson, Texas, native struck out 13 batters in 9.1 innings pitched. After his lone season pitching for Texas A&M, he signed with the White Sox as an undrafted free agent. In 15 appearances with the MiLB's Birmingham Barons, the lefty struck out 35 batters and recorded a 1.19 ERA in 53 innings of work. All the hard work and dedication to hone his craft paid off in the form of his MLB debut on Saturday in front of 41,488 people in Toronto. Although the lefty gave up two runs on three hits in his first appearance for the White Sox, he was taking it all in and enjoying the moment that he had worked for his entire life. According to Chicago Sun-Times reporter Mitchell Armentrout, Palisch expressed his feelings about his debut to the media following the 7-1 loss to the Blue Jays. "It's certainly intense," Palisch said. "I'd like to say I was feeling it, but I think I may have blacked out a little bit at first. You kind of lose track of everything that's going on, other than just that pitch and working through it." Once Palisch can settle into his role with the franchise and develop over time, he will be rocking and rolling on the mound in the pinstripes in no time. For a franchise that so desperately needs pitchers at the moment, he will likely be inserted to relieve more frequently for the White Sox moving forward. ESPN grapples with ranking Michigan's Rod Moore for 2025 after ACL injury recovery
Ever since he started getting playing time late in the 2021 season, it became clear that Michigan Wolverines safety Rod Moore was a star in the making. Despite being a three-star recruit, Moore has always played well above his ranking, and he's made huge plays to show for it -- the biggest being the crucial interception at the end of The Game in 2023 to seal the maize and blue's victory over Ohio State. Moore was coerced to return for his senior season, despite having a very good opportunity to go pro after Michigan football won the national championship, but he tore his ACL in spring ball, taking him out for the entire season. Now that he's set to return for his fifth-year, the Wolverines will be relying heavily on his services, his leadership, and his intelligence to help out a mostly unproven safety room entering 2025. Earlier this week, ESPN put out a list of five college football players at each position in an effort to preview that 2026 NFL draft. Rod Moore came in ranked No. 5 among the safeties according to one of the two rankers, but the worldwide leader acknowledged that with his knee injury, it's a bit difficult to figure out just how good he might be this coming season. Toughest player to rank: Moore. The fifth-year senior missed last season after suffering a torn ACL in the spring of 2024. If he can return to his previous level of play (six combined interceptions in 2022-23), that's a huge win for the Michigan defense and could push Moore near the top of the safety class. But scouts are in wait-and-see mode as he returns from injury. Before the injury, Moore was among PFF's top returning safeties in the sport. Of course, he could have some growing pains returning to form after a whole year of not playing football. Besides Moore, junior Brandyn Hillman, sophomore Mason Curtis, senior Jaden Mangham, and others will be in rotation at the safety position in 2025.
